Intex Krystal Clear Pool Maintenance Kit Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Note: this is NOT a toy.I do not know why it is labeled that way.Anyway, this is a great companion to the smaller Intex pools. The vacuum and the skimmer both work great. The little cheesecloth bag doesn't hold up very well though, but a tube sock works great as a replacement.Overall, a good buy.

SLUDGE EXTRACTOR (FULLY SUBMERSIBLE Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I have a 90 gallon tank and sometimes I don't want to perform a water change to get the bottom of the tank clean. I had the multi-vac previously. I have no issues with that except over time, the pieces won't stay together. I bought the sludge extractor (PETCO) and I love it. It reaches to the bottom of my tank and I didn't have to drain any water. The pressure on the vacuum was more than adequate. I was a bit relunctant on the proce, but I'm happy I did buy it and would recommend it to others. Just shop around for the lowest price.

EHEIM Quick-Vac ProThe effective weapon against dirt and debrisA well-kept aquarium radiates crystal-clear cleanliness right down to the gravel bed. However, sinking dirt particles, plant debris and organic residues repeatedly form an ugly layer of sludge. This provides the breeding ground for unwanted substances which pollute the water. One should therefore thoroughly clean the surface of the gravel at regular intervals and remove the dirt particles around plant roots, stones and corners. The newly developed EHEIM Quick-Vac Pro is therefore an ideal helping hand.In principle this handy tool functions like a conventional vacuum cleaner: The powerful pump sucks the dirty water from the bottom via the suction jet into the integrated filter element. Here the dirt particles are reliably caught and removed from the water.Battery operation Working duration of up to 4 hours Easy handling Integrated, easy-to-clean filter element Powerful suction pump Suction jet with extension element Suitable for marine and freshwater Supplied complete with batteries

Mini Bow Desktop Kit Aquarium - 5 gallon - Blue Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I decided to try a MiniBow thinking it would be something like my Eclipse tank, but it surely isn't! The exaggerated "bow" in the front distorts my betta fish when he swims near the back and far sides of the tank. Not only that, the light that comes with this thing is simply horrible! It makes everything in the tank yellowish! Suddenly my black gravel looks like brown mud and my fish's subtle natural pink colors are nearly impossible to see or appreciate. Plus I have found it hard to buy replacement filters locally. I would never, ever buy a MiniBow again. I'll be buying another Eclipse, which I heartily recommend as superior in all respects.

AquaticLife Internal Mini Protein Skimmer 115 Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)After the breaking in period I have been able to get this skimmer to produce reasonably dry, dark skimmate.I don't have to adjust it much and it is surprisingly tolerant of small changes in the water level. It is working well for me in the refugium of a 30 gallon setup that I did not need aggressive skimming for. I don't notice too much of a microbubble problem but I don't have this in the main tank anyway. I think most people looking for a small skimmer for a nano system would be pleased with this product. The only downside is that the water inlet is not near the surface to help with surface skimming, but most skimmers overlook this.

I would like to add that although the description says "hang on tank or suction" it should more accurately say hang in tank or suction as it is an internal, submersible type skimmer.

Warm mist humidifiers do not spread fine mineral dust into the air that you breathe nor on your furniture, the way that other type humidifiers do. The mineral dust remains trapped in the humidifier hot water reservoir. Use of Mineral Absorption Pads will play a major role in capturing and removing minerals from hot water reservoir, and preventing a stubborn mineral buildup.

Tetra Deluxe Tank Kit - 10 Gallon Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I just received the item from [...] yesterday. It comes with a 10 gallon glass aquarium, whisper power filter 10,biobag filter catridge, fluorescent bulb, and also a small sample of AquaSafe and TetraMin food flake from Tetra. These are reasons why you should have this aquarium to start with:

1)The 10 gallon deluxe kit is all complete set to start with. I opened up the box, unpacked everything, read the manual for minutes and poof, my aquarium is all-ready! The filter is smooth, quiet and works efficiently.

2)The fluorescent light is all enough to lighten every angle of your aquarium. It can also gives some heats to your aquarium and really looks shining and bright during the nights.

3)After running it for a day, I add the gravels, live plants, Tetra AquaSafe to treat the tap water, also i bought a bacteria supplement from pet store to introduce the tank with useful bacterias.

4)After finishing step 4, I went to PetSmart and bought 4 guppies. I put them all in the aquarium and they swim in it happily. The temperature is already around 68-74F, without using heater. So, the fish are happy.

Conclusions, this Tetra 10 Deluxe kit is awesome! Buy it for your kids or yourself for full satisfaction!

Essick Air ED11 800 Euro Console-Style Humidifier, White Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Does not work as advertised. When set at our preferred 40% humidity, the humidistat room reading reads 45% and never varies.

When the preferred humidity level was set to 50% the fan will run until the humidity level reaches 55% and then shut off. But, after just A FEW SECONDS, the room humidity level reading drops to 47-49% and the fan comes on. Again, it will run for just a few seconds and repeat the above process continually, never staying on or off for more than a few seconds at a time. There is no way humidity can rise or fall that much in just a few seconds.

After calling the factory, they said it was defective and to bring it back to the store. A second unitwas ordered which ended up being no better than the first.

I ended up returning the second unit as well. Stay away from this particular humidifer. It's noisey and cheaply made.

Intex 4,000-Gallon Filter Pump Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I purchased this unit to replace the smaller weak stock filter pump that came with my 18x48 easy set pool. This unit is VERY strong! It even cleaned up the debris off the bottom without even vacuuming the pool! I highly recommend this pump to anyone tired of messing with the under powered pumps that come with the easy set pools. Caution should be used around children however, as this pump could cause a suction hazard.

Essick Air 4D7 300 Whole-House Console-Style Evaporative Humidifier, Lith Oak Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)It appears that the first guy to review this humidifier didn't bother to read the directions. He said there is no way to tell if the unit needs to be refilled. That is completely incorrect. The digital readout will indicate the level of humidity in the air but if one of the bottles is empty an "F" displays on the left or right to tell you that the bottle on that side needs to be filled. This unit definitely does the job but it is quite flimsy and it is very noisy.I find it hard to justify the $180 price based on build quality but it does do the job.

Smart Solar SunJet 150 Solar-Powered Water Pump Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)OOPS the price goes up and the quality goes down!I have had more failures with my later pumps- still think that it is a good idea - I just wish they wouldn't mess with a good product for a larger profit margin!!!!!December, 2009

earlier I had written . . .
I read the negative reviews for this SOLAR pump (some even complain that it only works when it is sunny - - - duh).I have had my first one now for three years and I love it.It couldn't be easier to set up - a couple of screws, stick the panel into ground (it can also be mounted) and put the thingy in the birdbath and VOILA!
It isn't a fountain but it is perfect for a birdbath.I played with all the different heads that send the water up higher - about 8 to 10 inches - and opted to just use it with no head and let it bubble to a height of about 4 inches on sunny days and the birds go nuts for it - sometimes they sit right on top of it . . . bet that feels good on a hot day!
I confess that I am not that diligent about cleaning it out around the filter BUT this little pump is so forgiving that it keeps going anyway.Occasionally it needs to be taken apart if some debris gets in (you can tell when it happens because it makes a funny humming sound) but the maintenance is so minimal that only a birdbrain would find it a chore.
I have had the water wigglers in birdbaths - they're okay but they get funky and rusty - that is why I am buying my second and third solar pump to replace the wigglers in the other baths.

Easy Load - Screw-On Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)It works well, discharging some water when you invert the 5 gallon water bottle over the cooler. The ball cock is plastic and wants to float too soon after inversion. If it was stainless steel the cooler's built in extender would lift the ball after inversion not allowing for any water discharge except into the cooler. There is a small amount of spillage compared to inverting without the Easy Load. Do not invert unless you are over the cooler because the ballcock will rise and allow water to discharge from the bottle. A 5 gallon bottle filled is close to 40 pounds. Not an easy task for most people to handle.

Click Here to see more reviews about: Easy Load - Screw-On

Product Description:
This clever design holds back water as you turn over your 3 or 5 gallon water bottle onto your cooler or other water dispenser. Insert the tube inside your bottle and screw it on. As you turn the bottle the ball inside the tube is forced down blocking the water flow. Once the bottle is set into position the ball floats upward in the tube, allowing free flow of water. A single Easy Load cap can be moved from bottle to bottle as you refill your dispenser. With this dishwasher safe product, having two Easy Loads assures you have a clean one. This 48mm screw top fits most 3 and 5 gallon water bottles and is considered a standard size. For reference, outside dimension for the bottle opening would be 1.889 inches. If you have a regular cap for the bottle the outside dimension of that cap is about 2 inches. If your water cooler has a center post, this post can not be taller than 2.5 inches for this product to work. Please measure. GE coolers often have a taller center post.

Saeco SMK-06 Automatic Espresso Maker Maintenance Kit Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)needed (basically just) descaler but this kit came up as recommended on Amazon for our Saeco Odea Giro unit. the kit also includes the lubricant, a "paintbrush" to apply it to the brew group's hard-to-reach places, and a water filter (which we don't bother with; our drinking water is triple-filtered as it is). there's also a package of cleaning tabs which can't be used with the Odea Giro, unfortunately (as it doesn't have an automatic cleaning cycle).

next time around, i'll just buy the less expensive Urnex Dezcal descaling solution, which is evidently the OEM product that Saeco private labels in this kit.

Protec WF2 Extended Life Replacement Humidifier Filter Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I purchase these every year for my Vicks humidifier.I have spent way beyond what the machine itself cost me on filters. Each filter lasts about a month to 6 weeks before getting moldy and stops wicking the water.I only use the humidifier for about 4 months in the Winter, which a 3 pack of filters is good for.I would use it all year if I did not have to keep replacing the filters. If someone knows a better choice of longer lasting filters, please post.
12/9/08-Too bad this is the only place I have easily found these.I cannot believe they have gone up $10 in cost since I purchased them a year ago (11/30/07)!
