Slant/Fin 6-Pack Mineral Absorption Pads Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Decent price but the cost of shipping makes it almost prohibitive. It is so light and compact, it could have been put in a small envelope and sent for less than $1. Unfortunately there is no other source I could find.

Warm mist humidifiers do not spread fine mineral dust into the air that you breathe nor on your furniture, the way that other type humidifiers do. The mineral dust remains trapped in the humidifier hot water reservoir. Use of Mineral Absorption Pads will play a major role in capturing and removing minerals from hot water reservoir, and preventing a stubborn mineral buildup.

EPO36 Hamilton Humidifier Replacement Filter Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My previous filters had no metal frame. This one came with metal around it with perforations. I thought the perforations would work fine but like another reviewer, I found water all over my floor around the furnace. After removing the metal frame and putting the un-framed filter back in, it works great. This is very hard to find and I'd buy another. Hope this helps - cross references these filters (as far as I know): EP036, 10HF, H7504, RH7504, FH-182.

Sears Kenmore Humidifier Wick Filter Replacement,42-14906 Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This review is for a filter element that goes inside of a humidifier.

Calling it a filter is a little misleading, as it really doesn't filter the air or the water. It really works as a tall supported sponge, to hold water within it and draw air through it.The air that is forced through the filter (which is essentially sitting in a tray of water) becomes saturated with the water, thus adding humidity to the air in your house.

This is an aftermarket filter, since Kenmore is the manufacturer of the humidifier.

There are a few minor distinctions between the "Sears" filter and this aftermarket filter, but nothing that would keep me from buying it.For example, the "Kenmore" brand filterhas clips or tape strips to keep the filter in a circle shape, when it is in the humidifier. The presumption being that the soggy filter might slump over or something. No worries. The filter is reinforced with suitable materials to keep it from losing its shape.

Bottom line here, this filter does the job, is more readily available and is cheaper than the "name brand" that one might consider otherwise.

** More information than what you really want**

Do you know what "Legionnaires Disease" is?If you did everything wrong in the use of a humidifier, this could be the result.Ever leave a wet sponge in a sink for too long?It gets nasty. It can hold lots of bacteria and odor. Use a anti-bacterial additive to the water tank reservoir once a week. Also throw out (or replace if you live in Alaska) the filter at the end of the winter season.Clean your humidifier (with the filter removed) before storing it for the summer.Otherwise you will have a much bigger and nastier job come next winter!

Hamilton Beach 05910 TrueAir Cool Mist Humidifier Replacement Filter for 05518 Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We bought our humidifier two months ago and have already gone through two filters. Despite the fact that we change the water in our humidifier daily, the filter quickly start smelling very moldy. It also seem to disintegrate rather quickly.
I'm happy with the Hamilton Beach humidifier, but wish that the filters lasted a little longer.

The Holmes Group HWF64PDQ-U Replacement Wick Filter Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)These humidifier wicks work OK, but they do not put out the kind of humidity that the original replacements do... I ordered four, which will probably take me through the heating season, but find that I now have to run another humidifier in a remote part of my apartment to really do the job... Note: The item now pictured is not the ones you will get... The ones being shipped now have a blue fabric-like covering... Again, they are good, but not quite as good as the originals, which have a mesh covering... (m.)

Hamilton Beach True Air 05920 Blue Humidifier Filter Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)First - the reviewers that recount experiences of bad smells from their filters need to undrstand that wick humidifiers, like the HB 05920 and 05921, require that an anti-bacterial solution be added to the water tank when filling. This solution, I use "Golden Solution" (try Google), prevents mold and algae from forming on the filter and in the tank. This prevents the odors and gets you a couple months out of your filter if you run your unit 24/7 like me.

Second - there are other replacement filters on the market that are the same size as the HB True Air replacement filter and cost half as much.

I use two HB True Air humidifiers and usually stock up on 4 filters each for the 6 months they run continously in my loft.I have a couple True Air filters and a couple Best Air filtersright now and cannot tell the difference between them when it comes to performance. The name brand True Air's keep their shape better, but for nine bucks, I'm not worried about the asthetics of the inside of my humidifier.

Hope this helps those who use these filters.

Protec WF2 Extended Life Replacement Humidifier Filter Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I purchase these every year for my Vicks humidifier.I have spent way beyond what the machine itself cost me on filters. Each filter lasts about a month to 6 weeks before getting moldy and stops wicking the water.I only use the humidifier for about 4 months in the Winter, which a 3 pack of filters is good for.I would use it all year if I did not have to keep replacing the filters. If someone knows a better choice of longer lasting filters, please post.
12/9/08-Too bad this is the only place I have easily found these.I cannot believe they have gone up $10 in cost since I purchased them a year ago (11/30/07)!

(More customer reviews)I have had the GeneralAire humidifier for 6 years. The other 990-13 evaporator pads that I have purchased cost close to twice as much per pad as the 2 pack including shipping. The powder is on every pad that I have used.Rinsing the pad with water washes off the extra powder and makes it easier to handle without making a mess.Good quality and great price.
