(More customer reviews)I recommend purchasing these machines straight from the manufacturer, he'll give you all the info you need and it is less expensive.Just google "precipitation water generators".The man is brilliant and is inventing simply amazing things, such as these water generators.

I searched for years to figure out how to filter out all the chemicals, metals, bacteria, prescription medications, ect. that is contaminating the municipal drinking water.This is it.The filtration process in this unit alone is probably enough to filter out most everything from the city drinking water, but even better; since the water you'll be drinking comes from the humidity, none of that junk is there to begin with.

The higher the humidity level in your area, the quicker and more efficiently it will make water.

It took a while to get the new appliance smell out of the drinking water but after that, the water coming from it was, without a doubt, the cleanest tasting drinking water I've ever tasted.My friend told me it was like drinking snow and I know it's even better than that.

However, I speak of the unit in past tense because currently I am not using it.Unfortunately, I let mine sit for quite some time and mold grew in the collection tank.The unit cycles the water to keep it purified, but when there is enough mold growing it just can't be filtered well enough and it mold gets in your glass.
For this reason, I had originally planned to rate this appliance with four stars.But to downplay such an amazing piece of equipment because of my own neglect is arrogantly ignorant.So my suggestion: Use it and follow the recommended cleaning instructions.

If I could make one improvement to this machine it would be to have an option to keep the unit on but be able to turn off the water production.

Primo Water Bottom Loading Water Cooler Review

(More customer reviews)This machine is supposed to work with all standard bottles. The marketing info claims "Accepts all 3- and 5-Gallon bottles." However, despite following the directions and talking with customer service, this unit fails to achieve a tight seal with the pump (which pulls the water up from inside the bottle.) Every time it loses the seal, it stops pumping and beeps incessantly until I open the door, push down on the top of the pump, and shut the door. Every time I draw a glass of water, I have to repeat this process as many as 10 times until the next glassful is pumped!

I have not been this aggravated with a product in a long, long time. And since I've discarded the box, I'm going to have to switch water delivery companies, which is infuriating.

Vitapur Tri-Temp Stainless Steel Water Dispenser Review

(More customer reviews)We've had this Vitapur cooler/heater for approximately 1.5 years. And I have had to replace the main circuit board once. My time +$25(Can) for a replacement board. This because we could not find our purchase receipt(we purchased at a local bricks&mortar). The circuit board was full of corrosion.
This past summer the heater stopped working. (the connection to the element appears to be corroded and was making poor contact and now the contact is completely burned off).
The final straw is that the cooler stays on and freezes the water in the reservoir to a solid block of ice.
I would leave the whole thing on the curve tonight for garbage pickup but it's got freon in it so I have to take it to the local hazardous waste disposal.
It is a shame the design & build quality is so poor, the machine is attractive looking and was exactly what we were looking for.

Cuisinart WCH-950 CleanWater 2-Gallon Countertop Water-Filtration System Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased one of these last week at Bed Bath and Beyond. I didn't even know I needed one until I saw it. As with most Cuisinart products, the design of the unit is quite nice. But aesthetics aren't everything.

To begin with, the directions aren't very clear. I attempted to pre-soak the filter as directed, but it didn't seem to do anything. Also, the initial filtering of the water took a lot longer than the instructions stated. I believe they said it would take about 15 minutes for the water to filter through into the dispenser. Mine took almost an hour. Who knows, maybe I didn't soak the filter properly. But that was just the beginning of my problems.

Once the water was filtered, I switched the device on. It was a lot louder than I thought it would be. Actually, I wasn't expecting much noise at all. The device does quiet down a bit, after it has reached its target temperatures for the hot and cold. But after you dispense some water, it kicks back in again. If you have a large kitchen, the sound of the device might not be a problem for you. After all, it's a small price to pay for instantly available hot and cold filtered water. OK, "instantly" might not be the best choice of words.

To dispense water from either side, you have to press in and hold the appropriate button. The water comes out in a steady stream, but a very thin stream. Which means, it takes a long time just to fill up one cup. Even as a single man, this kind of wait was unbearable. I can't imagine someone with a family using this device. In any case, if you do end up purchasing this device, I wish you luck. I ended up returning mine just a few days after I purchased it.

(More customer reviews)I followed the preparation instructions to the letter and two days later I was getting complaints from co-workers that the flow was too slow and that, most importantly, it was leaking at a mild but consistent rate...and not from the drains at the bottom of the unit but from the seams along the sides of the bottom, especially if it were tilted (we don't normally tilt our water dispenser but I did tilt it and it definitely increased in its pour rate). The unit would just sit there and leak at a slow but, again, consistent and irritating rate. I wish that I had just not bought itbut I am glad that we have the old tall tower that this unit was to replace because of its nice size.

Think again before you buy this.

(More customer reviews)It works well, discharging some water when you invert the 5 gallon water bottle over the cooler. The ball cock is plastic and wants to float too soon after inversion. If it was stainless steel the cooler's built in extender would lift the ball after inversion not allowing for any water discharge except into the cooler. There is a small amount of spillage compared to inverting without the Easy Load. Do not invert unless you are over the cooler because the ballcock will rise and allow water to discharge from the bottle. A 5 gallon bottle filled is close to 40 pounds. Not an easy task for most people to handle.

As you turn the bottle the ball inside the tube is forced down blocking the water flow. Once the bottle is set into position the ball floats upward in the tube, allowing free flow of water. (More customer reviews)While it took a while to get here, my husband agrees with me that the Avanti Hot and Cold Water Dispenser was well worth the wait.

After our old dispenser gave up the ghost after twenty plus years, we looked at each other and said, 'what do we do now?' We tried shopping for another one locally but nobody had what we were looking for and we were, quite frankly, spoiled.

What do we like about the Avanti?

As the poet put it, let me count the ways.

First of all, because of its Energy Saver feature, the Avanti consumes less electricity than our old dispenser which ran constantly. It was also noisy. The Avanti, in contrast, is very quiet.

The Avanti features a neat little safety lock on the hot water faucet, which the old dispenser did not The storage space in the bottom, while it doesn't keep anything cold, is quite handy.

The Avanti's white plastic square design looks clean and nice. Our old brown metal dispenser did not. Also, unlike some of the round dispensers we looked at, the Avanti is not 'tippy'. Since it sits next to the kitchen doorway and a heavy traffic area, this was a real concern.

We also looked at dispensers that pumped from the bottom as well as the reviews and decided they were not for us.

The only CON was a chemical, almost musty, taste in the water for a few weeks after we got the Avanti, but that is now gone.

All in all, we are extremely pleased with the Avanti. It's much, much better than our old dispenser and we definitely give it 5 stars.

Haier WDNSC145 Convertible Freestanding Full-Size/Tabletop Water Dispenser Review

(More customer reviews)This is my first Haier product.I've had this for a couple weeks and it has been working great.When you first turn the cold water switch on, it takes about 10-15 mins to get cold, but if you leave it on it's cold all the time.Same with the hot water, it takes about 5 minutes or so to heat up.

One problem i've noticed (minus the one star) is that when you have both hot and cold water switches on, both the hot water and cold water compete for ready access.This is not a big deal, so I usually just leave one switch on a time (usually cold since it gets the majority usage).

As far as heating and cooling quality, when it's hot, it's SUPER hot.When it gets cold, it's cold enough to condensate your glass, but not ice cold - still refreshing!

UPDATE:Here's something else I wanted to add.Unlike other water coolers, this one does not run constantly cold or hot. If you have the cold switch on, it will keep recooling the water in cycles (you'll see the cold water light go on every 20-30 mins or after use).Same with hot water.If you have the switch on, it will reheat the water in cycles (every 20-30 mins or after use).Another minor annoyance (-.5 stars), but again, it's tolerable.

Water Sentinel WSF-2 Replacement Fridge Filter, 6 PACK, Fits Frigidaire WF1CB Review

They can be used for approximately 6 months before needed replacement. I did notice that the
filters really should be changed maybe around 4-5 months instead. The signs of it needed changing
is when the water flow seems slower and the stream is not as forceful as normal. They are very
easy to remove and replace in my Frigidaire side by side. When I saw how much Lowes wanted for
the same filters, I decided to purchase these on Amazon from a trusted seller.
I highly recommend these filters for general water filtering.
If you want a special filter that removes all chemicals including Fluorine, be prepared to
spend a lot more.

I have no way to gauge if it is truly accurate. :) However, when testing a water source before and after it entered our RO filter, it clearly showed that the RO filter was working. Have had this for about 4 months now and it has worked fine w no battery problems.

It is good that it has a button to save your reading until you take it out of the water. Without that, sometimes it's hard to read the display while the meter is in the water container.

Culligan IC-100 Level 1 Icemaker and Refrigerator Dispenser Drinking Water Filter Review

(More customer reviews)I've been using this filter model for two years. I'm on my second unit. It works about the same as other inline filters I've used with regard to taste of the water. It seems not to last as long, but maybe my waster quality has changed, but it lasts long enough considering the price. I do like the quick connect fitting system. My filter is located in an awkward location, and not having to snug up compression fitting anymore to copper tubing is a big help.

I've read other reviews comment on black particles.You have to flush out the filter before you hook up the outlet end to your refrigerator. Just like any other filter. Maybe a gallon at most. I just do it until I don't see black particles coming out. The instructions say to do this as well, but I think it says to use more water. That's just CYA though.

Parts & Features

12 Week Filter Timer: Lets you know when to change your water filter located on the top of the unit. Each filter will last for 3 months/or up to 48 gallons. NOTE: For optimum filtering and flow rates, the water filter must be prepared and installed in the easy steps exactly as outlined in the instruction manual. In 12 weeks, the word REPLACE will appear to remind you to replace the filter. Once the filter (Cuisinart model GF-80) is replaced, reset the timer by pressing the Start button for 3 seconds. The long life filter reduces chlorine taste and color, mercury, benzene, lead, and more.

Upper Water Tank with Cover/Lower Tank: Upper tank holds approximately 1/2 gallon of unfiltered water with a flip top lid for easy filling plus the lower tank holds approximately 3/4 gallon of filtered water. Close the lid and plug unit into outlet to activate cooling function. After about 1 hour and 20 minutes, the BLUE cold water indicator will light up, signaling water is chilled. On subsequent fill ups, the unit should take less than 30 minutes to chill.

Drainage Plugs: Two removable plastic plugs are located on the bottom of the unit.
Standard Cleaning

1. Turn the unit off and unplug it from the outlet.
2. Remove the filter and place it in a bowl.
3. Lift upper water tank, let it drain into lower tank, and set it aside. Then lift lower tank off base and empty. Careful, a full tank can be very heavy!
4. Clean the water tanks and cover with warm soapy water. NOTE: Remove filter timer before washing lid. Filter timer is not immersible.
5. The base is not immersible. Simply wipe it clean with a damp cloth.
6. Dry thoroughly when clean.

Semi-Annual Cleaning
We recommend you clean your unit twice a year to boost its operation and performance and to remove any calcium scale residue from the heating and cooling elements.Please refer to instruction booklet for this cleaning process.

(More customer reviews)Having lugged 5-gallon water bottles for many years, the ZeroWater system has been a Godsend. We use the larger ZeroWater2-part container on top of the same watercooler that used the large 5-gallon bottles. That water tastes great and is crystal-clear. My only complaint is the cost of the filters. Brookstone sold the 4-pak for $29.99 last year, but it's up to $52.99 now which is only a bit cheaper than Home Depot's $60.00 price. If it weren't for that high cost, I would have rated the water filtration system 5 stars.

(More customer reviews)I bought this and wasn't sure what to expect. After quite a bit of research I did know this is a smokin deal for a filter which is NSF 42 and 53 certified. (You need that.) I also checked out replacement filter costs and frequency and this unit is very reasonable.

Pros: It filters water very well. I live in LA and the tap water is horrid. Both my Husband and I like the taste.
Filters are cheap and easy to instal. Whole thing is SUPER easy to use.

Cons: The Cold and Hot tanks only fill up one glass each before they have to do their thing to make it hot or cold. I was expecting something like a tankless water heater where the water runs past the hot coils. This has tanks...

It takes what seems like a long time to filter but once you get it going and you continually add water to the top you won't run out.

This is not a con but you should definitely read the instructions on how to treat the filter before installing and using. ;) I didn't do it right so I just had to drain it and start over. Not that big of a deal.

Overall, I love it. Money well spent!!

Pluses: Nice attractive color, Spigot and valve ON the pitcher so no need to remove the pitcher from the fridge everytime you want some water, Zero-water meter is included (and can be stored IN the pitcher)

Minuses: Capacity could be greater.Filter is so massive that you go through the filtered water QUICKLY, especially if you have a larger family;
AND...the #1 drawback:This pitcher filters VERY SLOWLY.I am used to other Brita-type units and this is the slowest I've ever seen.Often when the pitcher is over half-full, and I fill the top reservoir, it doesn't drain completely after 3-4 HOURS.I have to keep a 1/2 gallon bottle in the refrigerator filled with cold filtered water since this filters so slowly.

So, great concept, water is fantastic, but pitcher filters way too slowly if you have a family larger than 2-3.
