(More customer reviews)While nothing will ever really replace the Cinderella-style of hands and knees scrubbing, this mop certainly is better than pulling out the regular mop and bucket of luke warm brown water.
It is sturdy enough and easy to assemble. its easy to use and does a great job of cleaning without chemicals. Sticky juice spills in the kitchen come up quickly and easily and the sanitizing feature is great for the area just in front of the bathroom toilet where men can never seem to avoid. lol.
The cord was plenty long enough for the rooms in my house, since I dont live in a mansion with huge rooms. And I was able to clean my kithen ceramic tile in less time than it took my husband to go outside and smoke a leisurly cigarette. The floor dried much faster than with regular mopping but I could see spots of dampness here and there when I was done so I am not sure how safe i would feel using it on hardwood floors.
The cons: it only comes with 2 reusable pads. So after the kitchen and bathroom I had to stop and wait for the wash before I could do the hall bath and the downstairs bath. Plus I felt I could redo the kitchen a 2nd time since the pad was so filthy the first time around. So you really do need to buy more pads.
Also, it does NOT do grout. If you have a spill in the grout lines the best you can do is 'sanitize' the spot (holding the mop there for 8 seconds) to loosen the dirt and then manually wiping clean with a rag or paper towel.
Finally, while the swivel head is easy to manever, it really does not get into corners all that well. And much like regular mopping, you have to sweep well or vacuum first or elseyou will just be pushing around crumbs or hair which will collect along baseboards and corners.
Since this is a great novelty mop, and since I love that I dont have to buy cleaners, I would definetely recommend this mop for people who like to keep their floors clean, and are sick of the mop and bucket style of cleaning. My floors are cleaner and I look forward to using it again when those stupid pads go through the wash again. lol.

Just fill up the removable container with water and go, no waiting as the last 2 mops did. The point on the mop helps it get into the corners. I use the steam because I have 4 animals and the steamboy cleaner leaves my floor sanitized without using chemicals.

(More customer reviews)Halleluia!When my Bissell Steam Mop finally 'died' and I found out they didn't make them anymore I was devastated.The only place I found to buy them was ebay at a whopping $250!Anyway, I searched online for other models and read all their reviews.None of the reviews for other products sounded any where near the quality and hard work of my old Bissell.I saw this model (The Steamboy) and it looked similar to the Bissell, however - nobody had written a review, so I was a little skeptical.

I'm here to tell ya - this product is as good or, dare I say, even better - than the Bissell for several reasons:1.it is lighter weight (but not flimsy) so my arms don't get tired 2.the head pivots easier and it is triangular in shape so it gets into the nasty corners under my kitchen counters and behind my toilets even better 3.the pads are easier to put on than the Bissell and the draw string to tighten them on is longer and therefore easier to work with and lastly 4. it has a carry handle and doesn't fall over when standing upright as my old Bissell did.Cons are 1. you have to make sure that the tank is all the way in or it is a little drippy 2.the cord could be longer, but I can't remember the Bissell's being any longer than this one.

So, if you want to replace your Bissell or give one as a gift this is definately an affordable option.If you've never used a steam mop, you will be amazed - and disgusted - by how clean your floors get and realize how dirty they REALLY were all those years when you used the ol' mop and bucket.This is faster too and requires no chemicals to clean!

Bissell ProHeat Upright Deep Cleaner, 25A3 Review

(More customer reviews)I upgraded from an older Bissell Little Green Machine to this unit based primarily on my experience with Bissell products.The PROheat has a number of nice features that ultimately sold me on it and after using it for a few months now I'm fairly pleased with it.I particularly like that you can choose to either have the heat on or off.I've heard some people say that using the heat can break down your carpets more quickly and cause the stain to get worse as it picks up new dirt that is tracked in.I don't know if that's not the case, but since my old Bissell unit lacked heat but did a fine job, I pretty much use this minus the heat.Even with the heat off I'm stunned at how good a job this unit does.It's even cleaned stains that I gave up as a lost cause.Most astonishingly, I usually vacuum first before using the steamer and then vacuum again once it's dry.I've discovered I actually vacuum up MORE dirt after steam cleaning than I did before.Clearly this machine is knocking loose built up dirt which means cleaner and nicer appearing carpets than ever before.I also liked the wand attachment from my old Little Green machine, especially for upholstered pieces and hard to reach spots and this thankfully has that.

But there are some drawbacks and limitations.At least initially you will pick up a LOT of carpet fibers when you use the machine, which means FREQUENT cleaning of the rotating brushes and especially the multiple filters on the unit.In some instances I wound up using tweezers to get out fibers from the particularly small filter on the underside of the water tank.The one on top is easier to clean out, but particles trap almost everywhere on this machine.The water tank holds a pitifully small amount of water and/or cleaning solution which means frequent refills, and it slows down the whole cleaning process.The self contained tank is easy to empty, but if you think that will eliminate odors from dirty water guess again, it doesn't.The tank does seem to leak or the seals don't hold tight and so dirty water does collect in the well that the tank sits in, which ads to the nasty smells as well as adding yet another think you have to clean up.Another particularly annoying habit is the dirty water seeping out the front of the machine by the cleaning rollers when you turn off and store the machine.This is really disgusting and trust me, don't store it on carpet or even leave it sitting there for very long as it WILL leak!When in use loose fibers tend to gather on the underside of the machine around the brush rollers so you manually have to gather it up by hand, which slows down the cleaning process.Once you've cleaned your carpet a few times that problem (hopefully) should minimize, although it has yet to happen for me.As a result there's a considerable amount of maintenance you have to do to ensure your machine is operating under optimum conditions.Even so, it's hard to argue with the results.I would probably buy this same unit again, but would also read up on other models just in case they operate more easily.Perhaps I was used to the utter simplicity of the Little Green Machine and sometimes I wish I was still using it, sad to say.

(More customer reviews)I have done a lot of research on different steam mops. I looked at prices and read hundreds of reviews and finally settled on the H2O Steam Mop.

When it came I tested it on every floor surface in my home including ceramic tile, wood floors, and vinyl flooring.What I found was that it works very well on most floors.Wood...eh...it was okay, but on my old-fashioned, textured vinyl it was AMAZING! I live in an old home and I haven't replaced the hallway vinyl flooring yet, which I hate because I have to get down on my hands and knees to scrub in the nooks and crannies (which really collect grime).This mop, when used properly and slowly, cleaned the floor so well it looks almost new! Ceramic tile, also great.It even cleaned the grout.My floors look better than they have in a looong time.

I have 2 big dogs, a daughter with lots of friends, and a small pool in the backyard.I own one of those "spray-and-mop" products and it is fine for quick cleaning (several times a day!) but it leaves a film on the vinyl floor, especially used over and over.This steam cleaner uses only water so there are no chemicals, no bucket to fill, and it thoroughly cleans without leaving any residue. With a busy life and no great love for constant cleaning, this steam cleaner makes my life soooo much easier.

I have read reviews that say this type of mop is junk and it doesn't work well, but as far as ease of use and level of cleaning ability I think it is well worth the money.It does leave some water on the floor, but no more than a regular mop.I would highly recommend this steam mop for anyone with kids, pets, and/or high traffic areas.I don't know how I survived this long without it!

(More customer reviews)After hearing wonderful things about steam mops from my friends, I starting doing research on them.I was anxious to retire my Swiffer which, as a mop, was better than nothing, but it left my dark hardwood floors streaky and I felt like I was just pushing the dirt around on the ceramic tile in my kitchen.I borrowed my neighbor's Shark and after using it one time knew that I wanted a different mop.I was excited to see this new model from Bissell as I had narrowed it down to a Bissellor the Eureka Enviro-Steam.[...] so I decided on the Bissell.The Bissell 31N1 was easy to put together, and includes a hanger so that you can hang your steam mop for storage.I used distilled water since it is supposed to prolong the life of the filter it comes with.The pads are substantial and easy to attach and stay in place while mopping.The unit took a little while to warm up but has an indicator light to tell you when it is ready.In use I saw hot steam pouring out which was great.The floors stayed wet for a while after use, but just like what happens when you mop a floor.I think I was trigger happy so I probably won't hit the steam button as much next time and try to spread the steam around a little bit better.I did dry the hardwoods after I used it as a precaution and that was fine.I was disappointed to see my hardwood floors were still streaking but a neighbor told me that once all of the other floor cleaners come off the floor (after I continue to use my steam mop), the streaks will go away.I hope so.A cleaning person I used sprayed furniture polish on the hardwoods (argh!) so it might be a while.I still think the floors are wonderfully clean and the mop is easy to swivel around and use with the cord being a nice length.I didn't have water leak on the floor like the other reviewer but perhaps that is because I removed the water tank immediately after use - not sure.I think you would be happy with this mop.I clean up after a 2 and 4 year old so life is good now.

I was not sure how dirty they got so I ordered two extra.For our homeI find I only need to use one mop head each time I mop so I really didn't need the two extra ones.They will be great to have on hand when the first two wear out. They are very easy to put on the mop and you just put them in the washer when they are dirty.
