I am replastering the walls in my house, and with the shop-vac running in the room, the dust level has been considerably lowered. As for the wet-vac, our basement flooded recently, and we removed about 60 gallons of water in no time. An excellent product, and easy to use. Definitely one of the best home improvement purchases we have made.

Cuisinart DCC-2200 Brew Central 14-Cup Coffeemaker Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this coffee maker after too many days of being the family's late riser and finding the coffee pot already drained.I have been using this pot for a couple of months now, and I am more than pleased with my purchase.This pot does hold more than the standard 10- or 12-cup coffeemaker, a great feature in a family of coffee-drinkers.

I had hoped to find a coffee-maker with a removable water reservoir to carry back and forth to the sink, which this model does not have, but even so, I give this model five stars for the excellent coffee it makes.While I have to lift the coffee-maker down from the shelf on which I keep it in order to fill the reservoir, its internal clock remains accurate even when unplugged for the short while it takes to fill the reservoir.

Some folks here have complained about the beep signaling that the element is being turned off.Even after several cups of coffee, my nerves aren't so high-strung that I even give the sound a second thought.It's quite innocuous, IMHO.

Perhaps owing to the water filter, this pot makes excellent rich-tasting coffee.It seems to brew just long enough to make perfect coffee for most folks' tastes.For stronger coffee, I can make fewer cups and use more ground coffee.If I'm really in need of a strong cuppa, I'll simply use my French press.I have never had the ground coffee overflow the filter doing this.Also, the heating element seems set to the perfect temperature, since I have never had a cup of coffee from this pot that tasted burnt...and on a number of mornings, I have barely gotten up in time to hear the beep signaling the end of hot coffee.

Best features of this machine--absolutely drip-free pot, unrivaled pure coffee taste, large capacity pot, variable settings for when the heating element will turn off, and an internal clock that retains settings with short interruptions of power.

Improvements that could be made--I wish it had a removable reservoir, but the one pot that I have used that had that feature made the worst coffee I've ever made at home, not to mention the leaky pot.

If you're not looking for espresso, but just a clean, pure cup of good coffee...even when "Early Bird" isn't your middle name, I think you've found what you're looking for in this machine.

Cal. since 2000, I noticed in 2003 that most of the original Lawn Genie pop-up sprinklers in my front and back yards were starting to fail:Not retracting, broken nozzle tips, and leaks.I got a gift card at a local home improvement store and decided to give these TORO 570 pop-up sprinklers a try.The ARC nozzles come preinstalled on top of the sprinkler bodies so I didn't have to purchase them separately.

Installation was simple: remove old sprinklers by gently pushing aside grass and soil with a small shovel and unscrewing the entire sprinkler assembly.Occasionally the top of the sprinkler body cap would unscrew by itself so a pair of adjustable joint pliers was used to grip the entire sprinkler body to remove it.The old sprinklers were wider so screwing in these svelte Toro 570s were a cinch.No plumbers/teflon tape was necessary.Be careful not to push too much dirt inside the pipe connectors.A little bit of dirt is easily sprayed out and any large objects can be removed from the filter by disassembling JUST the top cap of the sprinkler body.The ARC adjustable nozzles are really helpful in setting up the exact angle of spray necessary for each corner of my yard; just turn on the sprinkler control and twist the top portion of the nozzle to adjust.The pop-up section also has a clicking detent to prevent it from rotating after it's set.

Overall: The Toro 570 3" sprinklers that were installed in 2003 are still working well but the tops of the sprinkler body caps are showing signs of UV degradation/wear. I've switched to 4" in 2008 after allowing my lawn to grow longer which helps in decreasing watering time, fighting disease & weeds, and provides a more lush and DEEP GREEN lawn.However, your lawn grass type may have different requirements.

It's Great to see some consistent GREEN (lawns) with all the economic turmoils around the world.

Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier 1 ea Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this warm mist humidifier after owning a vaporizer and a cool mist humidifier. The vaporizer was fine except that it was too hot and burned my son's arm, so i needed something else. The cool mist humidifier (different company) broke very fast besides for the expense of changing filters.
This humidifier is great.
1) The warmth is very soothing but not too hot-it won't burn you if you put your hand over the mist.
2) It never leaks onto the floor or gets the surrounding furniture wet (the other one did all the time).
3) It is whisper quiet. You can hardly hear the very soft humming sound even when right near it even on high.
4) It gives out a nice amount of humidity even on the low setting.
5) It is very simple to clean.
6) It is very light and easy to fill up.
On the low setting the water lasts well over 12 hours-I haven't timed exactly how long. On high it goes for about a little over 11 hours. The auto shut-off works very nicely.
I really think this product is great so far. I've paid more for it at a local store and still think it's worth it. The Amazon price is really great which makes it a great buy.

(More customer reviews)I was surprisingly pleased with the Eva Dry mini dehumidifier.I hang mine just out outside our guinea pig's cage and it absorbs excess moisture quite effectively, keeping their food and cage area from getting too humid.It takes several weeks to fully absorb moisture but the indicator will go from blue to bright pink, and the unit will be noticeably heavier.Just plug the unit into the socket overnight to refresh.

The Breeze arrived in 3 days, even with free shipping - thanks Amazon!
Assembly was a breeze, just 4 screws.We have over 1500 sq ft of carpeted areas and steps so I put the new vacuum to work.

Pros:
-- Price (and I also used a gift certificate) - sweet!
-- Lightweight!What a difference it makes.
-- Very powerful.It sucked a full dirt container from our house.
-- Thermal protective device - according to the manual this will shut off the motor to prevent overheating (what our old vacuum did not have)

Cons:
-- No HEPA filter out of the box but the next time I replace the filter I can get a HEPA filter from Amazon
-- To use the hose (on the steps, inside car) I needed to detach the main hose and connect the special hose.But it's cool how you plug-and-twist the hose in place.
-- Warranty is only 2 years.But for the price I paid that's fine.

So really, no negatives yet.Happy with this purchase.

Honeywell QuietCare Cool-Moisture Humidifier, 3-Gallon, HCM-630 Review

(More customer reviews)We bought this humidifier to replace one that was purchased about six years ago, also a Honeywell model.That model had a two gallon tank and would shut off if the water ran out.Compared to that, this newer model has a relatively TINY tank, at perhaps a gallon or so.Since the unit is rated at 3 gallons per day output, that would mean quit a bit of refilling on very dry days.On our old unit, the tank had a handle on the underside (where the fill cap is) so that when you filled it, you had something to hold on to.Not so with the new unit.And to make matters even more difficult, the bottom of this new tank is not flat, so you can't just set it under the faucet and expect it to stay there.

The most annoying thing though is the absence of an automatic shutoff and indicator light when the water level gets too low.Because the tank is in the back of the unit, it is hard to see the water level.This thing will run and run and run without water, drying out the filter so you have to take it out an re-soak it again.While stylistically nicer, this units functionality is a real step down from previous generations of their humidifiers.

It only has two speeds, low and high.HIgh is somewhat noisy, but what you would expect.However low is whisper quiet, you can't even really tell it's on at all.I have a somewhat large room 17x14 or so, and it easily keeps it humid in here (I have a clock that has humidity on it, and can see the difference).As far as replacement filters, it appears as those are reasonable as well.

It doesn't have any real features, but it works and it has worked well for me so far with no complains.Quiet, cheap, and humidifes, it's win-win.

It is sturdy yet slightly flexible not to be easily breakable.
It handles warm to hot liquid real well as it is made with a some kind of high temperature plastic.
The best are these rubber lines that helps it sticking to the recipient into which you are pouring. No third hand needed nor worries about hot or messy spills.
A little mesh, provided with the set, can be inserted to strain the liquid which is really handy.
Storage of the Funnel set is nice as the funnels and the grid nest into each other.
What might have been nice? Maybe a slightly bigger handle for when we work with kids.
Still, a must have for every cook.

Crystal Quest Water Filter - Faucet Mount Filtration System - Chrome Review

(More customer reviews)Since you will also have to buy filter replacement cartridges from Crystal Quest for the life of the product, consider my review before buying.

Given the choice, I would not buy a Crystal Quest product again. This is due to the fact their Customer Service is terrible! (So is their Shipping Dep't and Quality control in my case - kind of scary!) I bought a similar product from them and it was missing parts. I called them and what followed is my worst customer service experience ever. They continuously reneged on promises made to me (several times), giving excuses when I called in (and I had to follow up myself EVERY time) such as "I asked so and so to call you" or "I was overruled by another dep't".

I am not alone - read other reviews for Crystal Quest products.

UPDATE: I ordered a water testing kit online to test the floride, chlorine, etc content of the undersink water filtering kit and cartridge I had received. Multiple tests (even at super low flow rates) revealed it DID NOT FILTER CHLORINE! (It left .25-.50 ppm of chlorine - the same as our tap water results.) Tests on my Brita filter DID filter all chlorine. So, I called customer service to explain and they kindly mailed me another filter - same result! I have sent back everything for a refund, since it does not work as intended. Who monitors these water filtering companies? I will be ordering now from a (hopefully) real water filtering company. I hope I have saved someone else the trouble of having to installing this product only to have to return it.
