Bissell Velocity Dual Cyclonic Upright Vacuum - 3950 Review

Bissell Velocity Dual Cyclonic Upright Vacuum - 3950

Now to be honest, this is a girly looking vacuum. It looks kinda purplish and two toned at that, in fact, Bissell calls it a Dark Cherry Fiz color. However, my wife liked the color, so that was a selling point for her. It also weighs considerably less than the Dirt Devil did, which was also a major selling point for both my wife and myself. (Yes, I do vacuum when nagged enough!)

So I brought it home, took it out of the box, and after 3 screws and 15 minutes later, the vacuum was put together. I found the assembly very easy to do, and the instructions quite straight forward.

Observations:
Right away I turned on the vacuum and found it very easy to maneuver. The adjustments for the floor height were easy to turn and it actually quieter than my Dirt Devil. All good things to me. Of course my wife and I took off the hose and tested the suction strength on each other, like the cheek, arm, and hair. Very impressive suction strength! Then my 2 yr. old son got upset because he thought that the vacuum was hurting us, so we stopped laughing and put the vacuum hose back.

I then vacuumed up a small patch of carpet in our spare bedroom, which I only use for my office, but right away my wife yelled at me to turn it off. She pointed out the amount of dust spiralling around the canister, which looked really cool! The cyclonic feature really works! There was a good amount of dust and debris already in the canister. We were both amazed at home much this vacuum had picked up, especially when this room had been vacuumed with the Dirt Devil just last week. Also, the carpet seemed to be fluffier. The 12 amps of power and extra wide 15 inch brush are very effective at cleaning our carpets.

I was also impressed with the fact that there are 2 filters on this vacuum. One just beneath the canister and a HEPA filter on the side of the vacuum where the air is returned to the room. Also both of these filters are very easy to find, remove, and replace. The canister also is very easy to remove, clean, and replace. A simple locking arm swings to one side to release the canister, then slides back to lock it in place.

There is also an indicator which changes colors based on the quality of air flow. If it is green, then things are well and air is moving freely. If it turns red then the airflow has become reduced, and if it turns black then there is something blocking the airflow completely. It is very easy to remove the entire hose, you just simply turn the hose on the back of the vacuum until it releases the hose, then you can clear away any blockages that might be in the way.

The hose is 14 feet long. However, I have not needed to use this feature as of yet, but it is very flexible and stretches easily. The Bissell Velocity Vacuum also comes complete with the dusting brush, TurboBrush, Curved Hose Wand, Extension Wand, and Crevice Tool. The power chord is extremely long at 35 feet, but can be a hassle when you only need a small amount of it for a smaller room. However, it is great when vacuuming a large room, or multiple rooms close to each other!

The TurboBrush also works great. I used it to vacuum off the stairs and my car. Again the 12 amps of suction strength is evident when the brush gets up to full speed. It really spins fast! I can even press it fairly strong into the carpet and it still spins.

There was mention that this vacuum seemed to tip over easily, and that is true. I tested this out on both carpet and bare floor. A good nudge or bump anywhere above the Turbo brush will send it falling backwards. Locking wheels would probably have helped in keeping this from happening. If you are going to be pulling on the hose to bring the vacuum closer to you, it is best to do this if the hose is attached to the handle at the bottom of the vacuum. However, I would not recommend this type of action.

Some people had issues with the power switch being on the front of the vacuum. This is not an issue for me. It is near enough the handle that it takes nothing to reach down and flip it off.

Conclusion
There isn't much about this vacuum that I don't like. It is lightweight, powerful, and easy to use. It is a little back heavy and can tip over fairly easily, and the power chord can be a nuisance because of its length, but those are minor problems.

For the money, you really can't go wrong with this vacuum. It will leave your carpets clean, fluffed, and your air filtered. What more can you ask for?

Light Force 300 Upright Vacuum Cleaner in Green Review

Light Force 300 Upright Vacuum Cleaner in Green
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My first vacuum was the Eureka Altima. It looks pretty much just like this one same price ect. I bought that vacuum in November 2006. It did a great job for 3 straight years. It went from our apartment to now our town house. However it started to act funny...it would shut off unexpectedly, or not turn off. Something electrical and probably could have been fixed. But I convinced my husband it was time to retire our old vacuum. I have a 2.5 year old a 4 month old and a chow-chow. Being Christmas time and having the old vacuum acting weird I couldn't spend a lot of money.
When I found this vacuum I decided to order it. I am so glad I did. Once again I got a great vacuum for a great price. It picks up everything...It's no Dyson but for the price who can argue? It cost 1/5 of the cheapest dyson.
There are a few flaws: 1) the HEPA filter has to be cleaned often..I don't mind it because it gets the dust and stuff out. Also this is because I have a dog and the hair gets around it and it loses suction. 2) it does not have a bare floor setting...but once again it's okwith me. I tend to sweep my kitchen then use the hose to suck up the dirt. Our bedrooms are hardwood and I do the same as in kitchen.
If you have previously owned a Eureka I would encourage you to get this one.

Eureka 442B SuperLite Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner Review

Eureka 442B SuperLite Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The vac itself is great. Great pickup, bagless canister works/empties well.

It has the most stiff/rigid cord I can recall having on an indoor appliance. It's difficult to work with while vacuuming. You have to take extra special care that the cord doesn't kink because you'll be vacuuming away (I use it for the stairs and the area near the litter box - in my den) and pull the cord out of the wall. It doesn't coil nicely onto the machine itself either.

I give the vac an A+, but the cord gets an F. I would not recommend this product for regular use.

Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus Upright Vacuum Review

Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus Upright Vacuum
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got this vacuum for thirty bucks so keep that in mind. There are units out there that cost ten times that. So how does the Dynamite Plus stack up?It sucks!Very, very well.I don't think I have ever used a vaccum that had such powerful suction. I bought a Dirt Devil cordless unit (the one that no one seems to like) about a year ago and it was garbage. I wondered if anyone really needed cordless while in the confines of their own home. Most likely not. Why not trade the dubious benefits of cordless for maximum sucking power? For the price there is proably no vacuum made that is more powerful. So why only 4 stars? Despite a vacuum that seems well built, convenient, light, bagless, portable, etc., there is one thing that is insanely ridiculous about the Dynamite Plus' design. All of that powerful suckiing power shoots right out a front grill of the vacuum.Like a tornado!!!!The first time I used it was in the kitchen it it literally blew all of the photos and notes off my refrigerator. The next time bordered on slapstick comedy if I could have considered it funny. I was vacuuming the hearth of my fireplace and the tornado-like exhaust fan blew ashes from the fireplace all over my living room!!!Who in their right mind would design a vacuum with a jet engine strong exhaust fan right in front pointing at the very dust and dirt you are going to vacuum?Final thought ... the plastic recepticle fills up very fast. I vacuumed what I thought was a clean tile floor in the kitchen and the dirt container was full. I emptied it and vacuumed my staircase and the dirt bag was full.Is this a bad thing? How can it be? The Dynamite Plus is sucking in dirt that I didn't even know existed. That's the whole reason I vacuum. So I would rate this as the best bargain of any vacuum I have ever seen except for that silly design flaw. It's not at all a reason to not purchase this vacuum. You just have to know how to avoid pointing it at things like fireplace ashes. Bottom line is I have never owned a vacuum with as much suction. This thing is dirt cheap for what it does.

Hoover Uh70085 Pet Cyclonic™ Upright Vacuum Review

Hoover Uh70085 Pet Cyclonicâ„¢ Upright Vacuum
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This vacuum walks circles around my 10-year-old Hoover Windtunnel bagged vacuum. If you have kids and pets, you vacuum daily like I do. My home is small and so is my budget, so this affordable model covers all the bases for me. Emptying the collection bin is a bit messy, but it is worth it to me to never have to purchase bags again. I empty it into a closed grocery bag, and I'm sure I'll get better at this over time. With a lot of cat hair to pick up that has been left behind by my old vacuum, I have had to brush off the filter several times, again, not a big deal to me. The hose is sturdy and long, and the cord rewind feature is a plus. I like the fact that the beater does not run when the vacuum is in the upright position, and has an on-off switch for hard floors. It does make a squeaking noise when stopping and starting, which troubles me a bit. I only gave this product 4 stars for now, but will update after owning for a few more months.

Bissell Momentum Upright Vacuum, Bagless, 82G71 Review

Bissell Momentum Upright Vacuum, Bagless, 82G71
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We were fed up with our top-of-the-line Kenmore vacuum, which we bought in the hopes that a more expensive machine would also be more effective than the previous Hoovers and Eurekas that we suffered with. But that expensive monster was a nightmare from day one till the very end...and we decided that it might be better for us to buy a cheaper machine and replace it every year. We got recommendations from friends of ours to try out Bissell vacuum, and reviews on Amazon pointed us to this line of vacuums. We couldn't wait for it to be shipped to us, so we went to Target and found it on sale for $89. Yay!

Came home, took it out of the box, and discovered that the hose had to be attached, which was a bit of a challenge to the men of our household ;) But after that, it was good to go. And boy, does it ever go!!! It sucks stuff right out of the carpet, tends to take out a good bit of lint too, and the dust cup got filled very fast the first couple times we vacuumed our house. I think we had to empty the cup a few times the first time we vacuumed! So, that was very rewarding.

It's been a few months now that we've had this machine, and it's still behaving itself. The only thing that seems a bit weak is the hose, which got twisted out of shape at the head end, but we can live with that. It still has the same suction power, and doesn't cause us any undue grief, and if it does, I believe the hose is easy to replace.

The dust cup is nice...I was wary of going the bag-less route, but the convenience of this surprised me pleasantly. Empty the cup into a grocery bag once the dust has settled (we do it before we run it again, rather than after a vacuum session) so that dust does not rise up in a soft cloud. There is an indicator light which tells you when the machine is not at its optimum suctioning power, and this is beyond useful! Wash your filter when the indicator goes to red, and you'll be back to normal.

The 35 (or 40?) foot cord is very nice. Make sure you do not get it trapped underneath the brush, as the cord's outer coating will get worn off; you will be an unhappy person when that happens! (A bit of electrical tape will take care of it when it happens, though.)

I took off one star because of the somewhat weakly-constructed hose, and the fact that the brushes can't be turned off when using the attachments or doing bare floors.

Happy vacuuming!

I have owned many vacuums - most of them too heavy or too difficult to change from carpet to tile. The attachments of this vacuum are easy to use and it is light weight. The canister doesn't hold a lot but I would rather empty a small one more often to have the super suction and convenience of a canister. It takes care of the pet hair on furniture and floors. If you have a large home or don't like to empty the container often, try something else. This little guy is great for smaller homes & apartments & those who don't like to work hard at vacuuming.

Hoover WindTunnel Canister Vacuum, Anniversary Edition, Bagged, S3670 Review

Hoover WindTunnel Canister Vacuum, Anniversary Edition, Bagged, S3670
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased a Hoover carpet shampooer recently, and was very pleased with performance and quality, so naturally I looked at Hoover's line of vacuums. The price for the canister was a bit much, I thought---but I liked the idea of the freedom it offered, having had uprights for the last 10 years. My first impression was that the quality of the plastic wasn't there, so only 3 stars--for example, if you open the top to reveal the two small attachments (the other two: floor/brush and upholstery won't fit anywhere), the lid seems like it wouldn't take much pressure to accidently snap it off. Also, when it arrived, the plastic window covering wasn't attached--no problem, it snapped right in---but it left me with an unsettled feeling about my purchase. The good news is that it's pretty easy to roll, the handle is adjustable, and for the first time in ages I can actually vacuum under my bed :) I also like the way the canister secures the handle; it doesn't take much more room than the upright. The suction is good, as I haven't seen my carpet's nap in a while; it's around 5 years old. Overall, I think if it were priced a little less or the plastic was more durable, I'd feel better...but with both Hoover products, my carpet is looking more like its old 'new' self.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From 3 Stars to 1: About 8 months to a year after the purchase, the retractable cord started to have issues, and there seemed to be a power-connection problem too. This year the handle (or wand), which was my favorite feature because it moves up and down has broken somewhere, and it won't hold a new position. Suction isn't good anymore, and the bag changing is frequent and messy. Finally, while initially I felt it gave me more freedom in ease of use, it actually is a royal pain to maneuver anywhere: frequently tips over, and pivotal hose difficult to pivot.

UPDATE Nov 2010: I purchased a Shark Navigator in October, with a Square Trade Warranty---and feel LOTS better about it. The Hoover is now my husband's choice for vacuuming out the cars.
(Knock yourself out dear :)

For a powerful, deep-down clean, this bagged canister vacuum features a 15-inch power nozzle with WindTunnel technology. Three distinct air channels lift and trap dirt, keeping it from scattering back into the carpet, so dirt ends up in the cleaner not on the floor. Fingertip controls turn the brushroll on and off for transitioning from carpets to bare floors, while variable speed control with illuminated LEDs makes it easy to control the suction power. The unit also traps 99.97-percent of dust and pollens down to 0.3 microns in size thanks to its HEPA media bag. Even more, it provides a 7-foot hose with 360-degree swivel capability, on-board tools for above-floor cleaning, a hard-floor brush, and a pet-hair tool with rotating brushes that effectively removes stubborn pet hair and dirt from upholstery and carpeted stairs. I have been looking at canister vacs for a long time.I bought one, hated it (the floor attachment kept falling off, the filter kept clogging), and ended up returning it. I am pleasantly surprised by this little machine...the suction is great, it's not too loud, doesn't clog, and it's lightweight.Plus the price is right!!I was looking into getting a miele until I found this.I use this at my vacation home (a 60 year old ranch home that produces a LOT of dust) where all the floors are hardwood or tile and I have an area rug.The vac works fairly well on the area rug, too.The handle feels much more solid than the previous machine I had and doesn't fall apart. And I actually prefer the bag to the bagless version I previously had. It is so much easier to change the bag than pull out a canister and have dust flying everywhere.I highly recommend this for someone who has a lot of hardwood floors and wants to get up ALL the dust on the floors, in the corners, under the sofas!!!

This vac was impressive out of the box. the suction was amazing... for a week. You quickly will discover that his vac takes an enormous amount of TLC. If you have a woman in the house with longish hair, or pets, it will clog up immediately. You have to use your fingers or a tool to pull out the debris EVERY time you vacuum. The filter pad has direct contact with debris, so it need to be replaced or washed every few vacuums.WE VACUUM EVERY DAY.. not carpet.. hard wood floors.. and this vac lasted a month before it completely died, despite all our extra care of unclogging, etc.
I'm not sure what it is supposed to vacuum up. It can't handle hair.. it chokes on anything bigger than a cheerio.
Miserable, awful product.Went into the garbage today.
I suspect it has probably already been discontinued.

Hoover Platinum Cyclonic Canister Vacuum with Power Nozzle, Bagless, S3865 Review

Hoover Platinum Cyclonic Canister Vacuum with Power Nozzle, Bagless, S3865
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
To start, I should mention that I'm hard on vacuums. We have different flooring types, multiple levels in the house, animals, long hair and children, as well as living in a never ending construction zone in the center of allergy alley. Thus, I need a fairly heavy performing vacuum that manages flooring transitions as well as being able to do stairs and furniture.

If that weren't asking a lot already, I need it to be heavy enough to be multifiltered and high powered, but light enough that I can tote it up the stairs.

I've had the Platinum Hoover Canister for a 3 months now, and I've been pleased with the performance. This one replaced a previous Windtunnel, and while I miss a few things from the old version (like different power settings), all in all, the new version outperforms the older version.

Pros:
Suction is fantastic.Transitioning from area rugs to hardwoods and then to carpet is easy.Super long power cord lets you do multiple areas without having to unplug and replug. Filters, filters, filters.Allergies in the house have become noticeably better with this unit. It's a lot more quiet that previous versions.Powerhead is fantastic for getting critter hair off the furniture and drapes. Reset button on the main head is a wonderful thing, if like me, you have ninja shoelaces in unlikely places; such as those cleverly hidden by small children who have kicked their shoes under the couch.Almost no dust escapes the vacuum while it is running, and while it is all in one unit...but that leads us to the cons...

Cons:
Emptying this vacuum is not for the wheezy. You will get dirty, you will have a cloud of dust, you will curse yourself and the Hoover engineers if you make the mistake of emptying it in the house.Trust me on this one.The only good way to empty it is to take the canister out to your big trash can, standing upwind and praying.

As well, the canister has collection areas that cannot be touched, washed or otherwise cleaned.I realize that the engineering design behind this was to keep the user away from the dirt, but it also means that if something gets caked in there, like if you clean on a humid day...you're kinda hosed. (No pun intended....ok, a *little* intended.) It's as though the engineers had *seen* someone use a vacuum, but didn't actually vacuum anything themselves, and so hadn't quite worked through the final step of cleaning the vacuum itself.

Still, the minor inconvenience of what I think is a poor engineering decision on that one part, is outweighed by the performance, the price point, and the significant reliability that I've gotten from other Hoover products.

For a neat person with a small space, this vacuum is probably overkill...but for large houses filled with dirt tracking children and animals...this vac is a clear winner in it's price range.

Product Description:
Equipped with Hoover's patented WindTunnel technology and three distinct air tunnels, this bagless canister vacuum cleaner effectively lifts and removes dirt and debris, trapping it inside the cleaner instead of scattered back out on the floor. Its fingertip controls offer comfortable access to the power button, suction control, and brush-roll switch. Turn the rotating brush on when vacuuming low- to high-pile carpets and rugs; flip the switch off for safely cleaning hardwood and other bare-floor surfaces. A foot-petal control adjusts the nozzle to accommodate different carpet heights and floor types. For above-floor cleaning, the vacuum provides a 7-foot hose, a detachable telescopic wand, and a variety of on-board tools. Use the turbo tool for stairs; the crevice tool for between couch cushions or other tight spots; the dusting brush for bookshelves, vents, and lamp shades; and the upholstery brush for curtains, living-room chairs, couches, and more. The unit's multi-stage cyclonic filtration system keeps the air that moves through the filter substantially cleaner than the air being pulled into the vacuum, which helps ensure the vacuum doesn't lose suction power when cleaning. Plus, its filter comes with HEPA media, which effectively traps 99.97-percent of dirt, dust, and pollens down to 0.3 microns in size. Other highlights include a 14-inch-wide nozzle, swivel casters for smooth maneuverability, a headlight, an easy-empty dirt cup (no bags to buy), a 25-foot power cord, and automatic cord rewind at the push of a button. The 12 amp canister vacuum cleaner measures approximately 25-3/5 by 14 by 17 inches and carries a six-year limited warranty.

Dirt Devil Extreme Quick Vacuum UD40195 Review

Dirt Devil Extreme Quick Vacuum UD40195
Average Reviews:

This little vacuum is lite in weight, has decent suction from the base and the canister is easy to empty with a push of a button. However, those are the only good features about this vacuum. The hose has very little suction. It wouldn't even pick up small fake Christmas tree needles, which are VERY light weight. The canister design on the vacuum is horrible. The piece at the bottom of the filter fits almost to the sides of the canister and doesn't let anything through so it clogs easily and constantly. Which defeats the purpose of an easy push of a button dispenser. I am always having to empty the canister out by hand and then having to take the canister off of the vacuum to dig out what is stuck in the path to the canister since it is constantly backing up. On our main level which is about 1200 sq feet and half of it being hard floors. When vacuuming, I empty the canister by hand and dig the fuzz and dirt about 4-6 times each time I vacuum. (Usually 3 times a week) Needless to say, I spend as much time cleaning it out than I do vacuuming. I will be going back to the store to buy a Hoover!

The Eureka 4711BZ pickup vacuum tube in on the right side of the rotating brush. The vacuum will pick up dust but any small things or paper is spun out the back by the rotating brush. I would not recoomend this vacuum.

Bissell Lift-Off MultiCyclonic Pet Upright Vacuum with Detachable Canister, Bagless, 89Q9 Review

Bissell Lift-Off MultiCyclonic Pet Upright Vacuum with Detachable Canister, Bagless, 89Q9
Average Reviews:

Must-have features:
- Suction power.Great suction power.
- Lift-off feature.For use on stairs.
- Bagless.
- Dedicated on-off switch for brush. To vacuum wood floor without brush.
- Brush automatically turns off when unit is at upright position.Save brush and carpet wear-and-tear when using attachments.
- Furniture protection rubber guard.

Nice-to-have features, but not absolutely needed:
- Pet brush."Pet" model means unit come with a Turbo Pet Brush attachment.Pet brush has rubber claws, which grab hair as you rake the surface of carpet or sofa.It is somewhat useful, but not to die for.Buy the Lift-Off models only if you want the must-have features. You can buy the Turbo Pet Brush attachment separately for $29.

Useless features (just marketing):
- Head light.

I was interested in buying the Bissell Lift-Off, but there is lack of info on the web to compare the 2 Bissell Lift-off models: Multiclylonic (89Q9) and Revolution.Rather than just a generic review, I will try to describe the difference between Lift-Off Revolution and Multicyclonic.Their sucking power seems similar. The visible differences are (1) dirt container, (2) upper tank right above the dirt container, and color.

(1) Dirt Container.Multicylconic and Revolution has different design.Small advantage to Multicyclonic.Multicylonic has 2 compartments; 1 cylinder in center and 1 large outer compartment.Revolution has single main compartment, plus 2 additional small dust chambers that extend out from chamber.I don't see any special impact or effect to the various compartments. But one thing I don't like on the Revolution is the 2 additional dust chambers with removable inserts, which are a mess to handle and clean.

The dirt container is the same size on both units. These units suck up so much hair and dust that the dirt containers need to be emptied after cleaning couple rooms.I have 2 short hair cats. The hair will clump together and rotate in the dirt container. As the container fills up (maybe 1/2 to 3/4 full), some hair will remain in the upper tank and not drop down into the dirt container.

(2) Upper tank. This is where the 2 units vary the most.Overall, I give the advantage to Multicyclonic, due to ease of cleaning, particularly with less hair trapped in upper tank.Revolution does have 1 added feature: upper tank can be removed, which is less messy to clean up.

- Upper tank filter size.Multicylonic has more open space in upper tank right above the dirt container. That means less likely for hair to get trapped.Revolution has large filter component that leaves a small gap to the compartment wall.Hair is more likely to get trapped. You can read the review for Revolution. And this is a major complaint for some users.Big advantage for Multicyclonic over Revolution here.

- Filter material. The upper tank on Multicylonic uses only plastic components, whereas Revolution has foam filter in upper tank. Both can be washed and rinsed out, but plastic is just easier and faster to clean.Another advantage for Multicyclonic.

- Removable upper tank on Revolution. The upper tank on Revolution is removable, but fixed on Multicyclonic. The positive for Revolution is that I can remove both upper tank and dirt container and empty them in the garbage can.On the Multicylonic, after bottom dirt container is removed, some remaining dust can drop down from the upper tank right onto the vacuum body.

Hoover Elite Cyclonic Canister Vacuum with Power Nozzle, Bagless, S3825 Review

Hoover Elite Cyclonic Canister Vacuum with Power Nozzle, Bagless, S3825
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Our Hoover wind tunnel vacuum was beginning to show some wear after 6 years (power cord insulation broken) so we decided to spend a little more money and buy a Dyson DC14. As soon as it was out of the box and turned on it made a horrible grinding racket so it went right back in the box and back to the store. I was gun shy about buying another vacuum and spent a lot more time trying them out. Having owned several Hoover vacuums including a carpet cleaner that I love, I began to think I shouldn't stray from a reliable brand but I was still open-minded as I shopped and used several different brands and models at the store. I found the Hoover Elite Cyclonic to be the best that I tried. It is very simple to operate, with common sense, intuitive hookups between the canister and hose and the hose and wand. The adjustable wand is heavy duty metal and clicks quickly and easily in and out of the power nozzle. The power nozzle itself has a light and a powered, spinning brush that I like. The cyclone canister holds plenty of dust and lint and is easy to empty. I was leery about buying a canister since I have always found uprights easy to move around but I have absolutely no trouble handling the Elite Cyclonic. The adjustable handle is a plus since I am tall and my wife is shorter, and we can both vacuum comfortably. An absolute plus given my worn electrical cord problem is the automatic cord reel, which winds the cord into the canister body at the touch of a spring-loaded button. The vacuum is powerful and pulled dust, lint, and hair out of the carpet as well as the Dyson I used, but with none of the noise and flimsyness that I experienced with that brand.
The ONLY minor complaint I have about this vacuum concerns the fact that since it is bagless, there is a slight dusty mess when emptying the canister container into the wastebasket. I believe this to be true with any of the bagless vacuums currently on the market, and it empties quite like the Dyson that I tried. This messy disposal is certainly offset by the convenience and cost savings of not having to buy replacement bags. I highly recommend this vacuum cleaner!

Product Description:
Equipped with a 12 amp motor, this bagless canister vacuum cleaner provides powerful performance throughout the house. Convenient fingertip controls on the handle make it easy to adjust the suction-control valve or turn the brushroll function off when switching from carpets to bare-floor surfaces. The unit's multi-stage cyclonic technology first separates large debris into the outer chamber, then it separates fine dust into the center chamber, and finally it uses a filter to catch any remaining dust allergens that may have gotten through the first two stages. Combined with its HEPA media filter, which traps 99.97-percent of dust and pollens down to 0.3 microns, the vacuum offers exceptional filter technology for cleaner air and strong, consistent, suction power. Disconnect the power nozzle by simply stepping on the disconnect lever; the wand can then be used with a variety of on-board attachments for above-floor cleaning of upholstery, stairs, drapes, and more. Other highlights include an adjustable-height telescopic wand for comfortable use, a headlight on the power nozzle, a large-capacity bottom-empty dirt cup, and a 25-foot power cord with automatic cord rewind for tidy storage. The bagless canister vacuum cleaner measures approximately 26 by 16 by 15-4/5 inches.

Bissell Cleanview Helix Plus Upright Vacuum, Bagless, 22C1 Review

Bissell Cleanview Helix Plus Upright Vacuum, Bagless, 22C1
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
UPDATE: I've vacuumed my apartment every other day since my last review. I am happy to say it's running as good today as it has the day I got it. It still picks up an amazing amount of dirt, and I have not had to change the HEPA media filter yet (although I can already see discoloration-I will probably by a reusable this May).

I received my Bissell 22C1 from Amazon today so my review will be my immediate views and I plan to update this once again later on this winter. As a quick background our household had 2 adults and a medium haired cat living in an apartment with white, poor quality carpet. We both suffer from allergies.

Assembly & Parts:

When the package first arrives it requires minimum assembly. The filters are all in the correct places already, and the one tool you need is a screwdriver to screw the vacuums handle onto the body. It took more time opening the boxes than it took to put the vacuum together. The cord is long enough to vacuum my living room.

Test drive:

Since you have to screw the handle onto the body, the power switch is on the side of the vacuum, which seemed kind of weird to me.

I honestly cannot believe how much dirt it picked up from my carpet (both hair and dust). My carpet has always looked dirty, but after vacuuming it looks like the color lightened up by one shade. Of course it wont work miracles, but I am so much more satisfied with my carpet than I was before. Even when vacuuming the edges of the carpet (along the wall), the vacuum gets very close to the wall. It's not to the point where you wont need to use the crevice tool every once in a while, but at least you wont have to worry about it constantly.

Cleaning the dirt container is extremely easy! My old bagless vacuum made me take a tank out of the body, and lift the filter out of the tank before I was able to toss the dirt out. With this tool all you do is slide a knob from the left to right, then the tank is easy lifted away from the body and dumped out without having to touch anything gross inside.

In case you're wondering about how much parts will cost with the unit:
the part number for the 'Style 9 Drive Belt' (2 pack) is 32074
Standard headlight Bulb: 203-1297
Style 16 outer circular pre-motor filter: 69B1
Style 7/9/16 HEPA media filter: 32076
Style 7/9/16 Post motor filter: 3099

The manual gives directions on how to replace all bulbs and filters, as well as details on how to service it (yourself) and common vacuum issues like fixing a clog.

So far the vacuum's been great. I'm happy I purchased it and would recommend it. Great product for the price! And the manual is very helpful so hopefully in the future I wont have to bring it into the repair shop!
