(More customer reviews)I was so excited in anticipation when I ordered this item. However, it quickly failed to live up to my expectations.

First, the water that comes through the filter tastes worse coming out than it did when it went in! Sure, the chlorine smell is gone but the water tastes very salty or something. Also, it's very difficult to suck the water through the actual filter and nearly impossible for my small child. I wanted to stop carrying around plastic sports bottles all day and switch to this but not so fast. While it's a great idea it's another over-priced, over-hyped, disappointing paper weight that makes me feel foolish every time I look at it because I spent that much on a stupid water bottle!

(More customer reviews)I have several salt water aquariums. We have also become use to clear ice cubes, tasteless water. So when our old system broke we really needed to get a new one. We were going to get a cheaper system because we could get it right away but decided to wait and save for this one. For a month we put up with getting water at Walmart every week (4 cases every 4 days actually). Finally we had the money and made this investment.
WE COULD NOT BE HAPPIER. It is everything it says it is plus a bag of chips too! 1 gallon of water takes 6 minutes.
NOTE: You must supply the adapter for your sink faucet to the enclosed garden hose adapter (15/16" male to 3/4" female for most sinks).
Lots of hose, lots of power, dead quiet, easy to set up, run, maintain. This is like going from a Chevy to a Cadillac.

You need to hook the waste water tubing to something to take care of the waste water, I have mine going into the sump well in the basement so the sump pump takes care of it. It also needs an electrical outlet. Once you hook it up you can pretty much forget about it. Nice.

Living Water II By Ecoquest Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this product after it being introduced to me as a perfect way to purify tap water and make it good-tasting and much more suitable for cooking than unfiltered tap water, etc.

The results are quite far from perfect. My tap water happens to have a smell that is still there after filtering with Living Water II. Water does taste a little cleaner, but is in no way good-tasting.

Bottom line, I only cook with this water and still use bottled water for drinking, tea, and coffee.

I'm glad I only spent about $120 on this buying through Amazon. MSRP is $399 and that price for the product of such quality is simply OUTRAGEOUS. If your tap water does not have a smell, you may experience better results, but I don't recommend ever spending more than $150 on this filter.

P.S. By the way, the salespeople also pointed out that this product is better than RO water filtration because it does not result in water waste as RO filters do. However, my friend has a RO water filter by Watts and it produces really clean, good-tasting water. So maybe it wastes some water in the process but at least delivers outstanding results as well.

The water in my area tastes absolutely horrible! Brita is able to effectively reduce bad taste, bad odor, and chlorine to make the water much more palatable.

The unit has leaked out of the bottom, out of the gasket at the top that goes to the faucet, and out of the tubing between the unit and the faucet (my appliance dealer heard rumors that the tubing was recalled but no one has volunteered to replace it).Getting anything fixed involves a major game between Franke, their distributor and a company that supposedly did add-on work on the unit I have. My tap water tastes good but apparently has a lot of stuff in it because we use a filter every two months (they are supposed to last six). Another friend of mine has the same unit and hasn't had as many problems, but he only uses it rarely. My use has been heavy.

Crystal Quest pitcher replacement filter Review

(More customer reviews)I used the Crystal Quest pitcher for about 6 weeks and it was 6 weeks too many. This pitcher is poorly designed. It is small, narrow and the capacity is not even close to the 10 cups they claim when the filter reservoir is present. The spout is too narrow so it pours slowly. Water glugs out and splashes all over if you tilt it too far. The lid must be held with your free hand when pouring or it will eject if any water is present in the reservoir. The handle is too narrow and is not comfortable to hold, especially when full.

Even worse than the design of the pitcher, the filters only lasted for a few weeks! I went through three filters in the six weeks I used this piece of junk! Yes, you read that right. The first day, your water will flow through quickly. The second day, it slows noticeably. By the fourth day, it starts to take a LONG time to pass the water through the filter. By the end of two weeks, it could no longer pass a full reservoir of water through the filter within 12 hours! Seriously!!! It would literally only pass about 3 drips of water per minute through the filter after only a few weeks. I can't use that!!! Who can? It was insane! I am one person. I was not even close to using the filter's claimed capacity of 2,000 gallons! I went through THREE filters!! I thought maybe the first one was defective, but after the same performance from all three, that was it. Completely unacceptable.

As if that wasn't enough, another troubling issue is the fact that the filters are put together with some kind of glue or adhesive. Seems to me like a bad idea to expose the water I'm supposed to be drinking to a chemical adhesive instead of using plastic tabs to hold the filter cartridges together. What rocket scientist designed that?

I recommend that you stay away from this product. I was using Britta for many years before this, and I have now switched to Pur. The Pur filter pitcher is superior in every way to this (and the Britta I had), and I have not experienced any issues.

I called the company and they were aware of the manufacture defect. They were very friendly and helpful. They put a whole new "diverter valve attachment" in the mail that same day.After changing out the part we have had no other problems at all after several months of substantial use.

My system is reverse osmosis, but only has a single feed for cold water. This faucet arrived and had three small hoses coming out of it and my handyman/plumber said that water would run constantly through it and that I would be better off with a single feed system. It would cost more to install it with all the new hoses than it was even worth.

It was NOT clear that this was the case in the description. Make sure that your existing system is compatible with this product -- it is NOT necessarily STANDARD. Now I have to go to the post office and pay to have it shipped back and find a new compatible faucet.
