(More customer reviews)I am using this for kitchen use at my kitchen sink even though it's not designed for that.I just had to get a tank and faucet and a few fittings for that and it works great.If you don't have that stuff you might be better off buying 1 that already has that stuff included.

The Mighty Mite can be used on city tap water or well water as it purifies water using a Reverse Osmosis membrane.Depending upon water temperature and pressure, this unit can deliver between 20 and 50 gallons for pure drinking water a day.That's 1 to 2 gallons per hour.The pre-filters process up to 1,500 gallons of water. Living Water II By Ecoquest Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this product after it being introduced to me as a perfect way to purify tap water and make it good-tasting and much more suitable for cooking than unfiltered tap water, etc.

The results are quite far from perfect. My tap water happens to have a smell that is still there after filtering with Living Water II. Water does taste a little cleaner, but is in no way good-tasting.

Bottom line, I only cook with this water and still use bottled water for drinking, tea, and coffee.

I'm glad I only spent about $120 on this buying through Amazon. MSRP is $399 and that price for the product of such quality is simply OUTRAGEOUS. If your tap water does not have a smell, you may experience better results, but I don't recommend ever spending more than $150 on this filter.

P.S. By the way, the salespeople also pointed out that this product is better than RO water filtration because it does not result in water waste as RO filters do. However, my friend has a RO water filter by Watts and it produces really clean, good-tasting water. So maybe it wastes some water in the process but at least delivers outstanding results as well.

Filmtec Membranes TW30-1812-50 Review

(More customer reviews)The little white capillary flow resistor, which needs to match and be replaced same time with the ro membrane filter wasn't included w/ the membrane filter. I had to buy one, which increased the price of the membrane. The whirlpool membrane includes the capillary flow resistor.So, I'll probably stick with the Whirlpool brand at Lowe's.

GE SmartWater Replacement Reverse Osmosis Filters (FX12P) Review

(More customer reviews)How long the filters last depends greatly on your individual water supply.I've sinced pulled the battery out of the faucet because it is just a timer and has nothing to do with actually meaning the filters are dirty.I'm averaging about 9 month on the Pre and Post Filters instead of recommended 3 month.When I change them the prefilter is usually reddish (rusty looking) and the post filter just grayish.I've had the Osmosis filter in place now for about 4 years.I test the water with a TSD meter (Total Disolved Solids) and testing water out of the regular faucet it reads around a 10, Testing water out of the Osmosis filter it tests a zero.Which to me mean the osmosis filter is still working 100%.If anyone knows something different let me know.The only concern I have is where the overflow water drains into my sink drain I need to clean that every 3 months.If not it can get very dirty and clog up the osmosis drain.What happens then is the water can come out of the vent hole on the side of the Osmosis Filter.It happened twice in the four years I've had it and have been home both times.But potentially if the water doesn't flow back into your sink it could flood the floor.
