(More customer reviews)This device works as advertised and was very easy to hook up.It comes with a couple of different faucet adapters so whether the threads of your current faucet are inside or outside, there should be an adapter to handle it.The green light to indicate that the filter is still good is especially nice.My only complaint is that the flow if decreased by about 60-70% when using the filter so it takes a while to fill up anything larger than a drinking glass.Other than that, great product.

Brita 42645 Aquaview On Tap Filtration System Review

(More customer reviews)Bought this filter at my local BJs warehouse store three weeks ago and installed it that same day. My wife and I have been big consumers of Poland Spring bottled water and decided to try this product to cut down on costs and to cut down on usage of plastic, throw-away bottles.

I wasn't too sure I would like the water produced by this filter, but after three weeks of repeated use, I can vouch for the taste and the smell: both good. There is no characteristic "tap water" smell and you can't tell the difference from Poland Spring. Plus, it's very easy to install (comes with a variety of washers in case it does not fit straight off on your faucet).

It comes with two filters (good for about four or five months of use by an average family). You can get replacement filters easily at different stores (like BJs, Walmart, etc.).

Even if you currently drink water straight from the faucet, this product would be worthwhile for you to buy, for who wants to drink the lead and the chlorine that are present in most drinking water that is piped into homes in America? And if, like us, you are or were bottled water consumers, you will see no difference in taste AND see the savings mount up!

After using this product for many months now, I can state I still think this is an excellent buy. We have not had to change the filter even once - maybe Jersey City water is not that terrible compared to other places in America. We did have to change the battery once, which I thought a little surprising.

But after reading the negative reviews, I have to wonder: we have had ZERO problems with hot water and drips, unlike what a couple of other reviewers have suggested. Definitely highly recommended.

GE Merlin Reverse Osmosis Water System Review

(More customer reviews)At the time when GE was about to announce this, I was a GE water products dealer. I agree this has some great features, delivers more water per minute, saves spaces and eliminates the tank associated with other models but... A water softener is highly recommended before the Merlin because if your total hardness is over 12 grains, you may face replacing membranes annually. That is 2 at a minimum cost of $80 each. after having installed over 50 of these, We have had calls for most reporting lack of performance within the first year which I attribute to lack of use. these need to be run frequently not just for the occasional glass of water. It is good for light commercial use like a restaurant but not the average home. It produces a higher total dissolved finished product than all other R/O membranes which is why it has high flow at residential line pressure than others which product lower TDS at reduced flows. These require high pressure to operated at optimum performance and are quite weak at pressures below 50 psi.
The air gap mounting that comes with the unit only works with stainless steel or cast iron sinks not granite counters. When I inquired with GE about this, they said there were no plans to change this.
GE has since sold 80% of it's water products division to Pentair and it remains to be seen how this will bode for the Merlin.
The Merlin can only be operated on treated water from a municipal supply and will foul quickly on many well waters.
I recommend this only where you can service this yourself, have a working knowledge of reverse osmosis and can backwash this about once a month without paying for this service.

Watts 116101 Standard Faucet with Air Gap, Brushed Nickel Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this faucet (it does look nice) and the description called it standardized for all reverse osmosis systems. My system is reverse osmosis, but only has a single feed for cold water. This faucet arrived and had three small hoses coming out of it and my handyman/plumber said that water would run constantly through it and that I would be better off with a single feed system. It would cost more to install it with all the new hoses than it was even worth.

It was NOT clear that this was the case in the description. Make sure that your existing system is compatible with this product -- it is NOT necessarily STANDARD. Now I have to go to the post office and pay to have it shipped back and find a new compatible faucet.

(More customer reviews)Not much to say here.This is what you get when your catridges need replacing on your AP-DWS1000 Drinking Water System.Our AquaPure just stopped working one day; the water wouldn't flow out.It's because we hit the 625 gallon limit.So, that's the "clear indication" you need to buy the new cartridges.When you replace the old ones, be sure to have a mixing bowl or bucket to catch the water that will spill out.I checked with company (which is owned by 3M).Unfortunately the old cartridges cannot be recycled at this time.What a waste!That's why I deducted one star.

Anyway, putting in the replacements is pretty easy: turn off the water supply, lift up the plastic cap, and remove the old catridges.There is an order to re-installing them, so pay attention to cartridge #1 versus #2.Then spin the little dial to give you 625 more gallons of filtered water.

(More customer reviews)I have been using various Pur faucet filters through at least 5 units now.Originally the plastic rotate units, then 2 stainless in a row as I moved each time I'd just buy a new one leave the old behind.They are great.....

EXCEPT that the case tends to crack nearest the faucet hookup.This is particularly quick to happen on the units that rotate.But it has also happened to me with the stainless steel unit just happened to me on a SECOND stainless now.

ALSO the screw-on cap in front is a PAIN to remove.It's round and smooth and hard to find any grip on it when it's screwed in tight.They really should put a couple of flat edges to give your fingers somewhere to grab.Installing is difficult as well getting that last bit of turn-down to get it flush.

I keep coming back to Pur though even with these defects they are a great value.

(More customer reviews)After several years of using pitcher based cartridges that are a fumble to work with, technically marginal in offering only minor purification and fairly costly in the long run, we decided to buy a more robust system. This unit is much better at removing nasties from the water - although our city water is reasonably pure to begin with. This under-sink system is more cost effective and far more convenient without the overflow bits of charcoal that tend to escape from more primitive filters. The installation took about 15 minutes ad was straightforward. The longest part of preparing however was finding one critical piece. The system ships with a T fixture to join with the under-sink cold water line that did not match our plumbing. Go to a plumbing supply company rather than the corner hardware store for this item if you need it. The flow is great. Having it on the sink means that we can more easily use this for all cooking as well as the quick refreshing drink.

(More customer reviews)I don't know what it is about this product, but it just does not hold up at all.Actually, I do know what it is: cheaply made.
When it works, it works great.There is nothing like having fresh water at the tap without having to refill a pitcher every day.But it won't take long for you to realize that this device isn't made for the long term.
Within months of owning small leaks start to occur around the device.Shortly after those appear, the leaks worsen and will actually run into the water you are wanting to filter.
After spending over $100 on 3 replacements and how ever many replacement filters, I have learned my lesson the hard way on this product.
You really do get what you pay for in this product.

I haven't had success keeping the connection tight without the metal ones. The cheap plastic connectors included in the original package are almost guaranteed to fail.
