(More customer reviews)This refrigerator replaced one of those double door refrigerators that had 5 freezer shelves which were too narrow to accomodate frozen pizzas or a 22 lb turkey. I hated the old fridge. It looked nice, but was pretty useless and impractical.
My new Kitchenaid refrigerator/freezer is great. Food items are clearly visible and there is plenty of storage space on both doors that allow for varied heigths depending on your needs. Electronic controls allows for consistent temp. Vegetable and fruit storage is accomodated with large bins and coldcuts and cheeses have their own storage drawers. There is an alarm that alerts you if the doors are not properly closed and a constant readout indicating temperature. A water dispenser is mounted on an exterior door which I don't use much.
The lower mounted freezer has two deep baskets that hold pretty much everything with an adjustable slide for more efficient storage.
The stainless steel exterior glistens and offers a lot of flexibility re: home decor. The exterior does require a weekly cleaning with stainless cleaner.
I like the quality, performance, and appearance and bought as second similar unit without the water dispenser.

(More customer reviews)Nice filter design.When the pitcher is half empty, fill it from the tap.This way you always have at least 1 quart of filtered water ready.You can still pour from the filtered water at the bottom, as the top half with the tap water trickles through the filter.
The pitcher must be used.The filter cannot dry out, nor can the water be left to sit for more than "3-4 days" without replacement.
I like this filter, but I also need to get a water filter that fits directly on my faucet, because there are too many occasions where it is inconvenient to get and use the pitcher from the refrigerator.
Knowing when to replace the filter and where to get it from are problems.They suggest replacing it every 160 quarts (80 pitchers); or two months ...

Primo Water Bottom Loading Water Cooler Review

(More customer reviews)This machine is supposed to work with all standard bottles. The marketing info claims "Accepts all 3- and 5-Gallon bottles." However, despite following the directions and talking with customer service, this unit fails to achieve a tight seal with the pump (which pulls the water up from inside the bottle.) Every time it loses the seal, it stops pumping and beeps incessantly until I open the door, push down on the top of the pump, and shut the door. Every time I draw a glass of water, I have to repeat this process as many as 10 times until the next glassful is pumped!

I have not been this aggravated with a product in a long, long time. And since I've discarded the box, I'm going to have to switch water delivery companies, which is infuriating.

Vitapur Tri-Temp Stainless Steel Water Dispenser Review

(More customer reviews)We've had this Vitapur cooler/heater for approximately 1.5 years. And I have had to replace the main circuit board once. My time +$25(Can) for a replacement board. This because we could not find our purchase receipt(we purchased at a local bricks&mortar). The circuit board was full of corrosion.
This past summer the heater stopped working. (the connection to the element appears to be corroded and was making poor contact and now the contact is completely burned off).
The final straw is that the cooler stays on and freezes the water in the reservoir to a solid block of ice.
I would leave the whole thing on the curve tonight for garbage pickup but it's got freon in it so I have to take it to the local hazardous waste disposal.
It is a shame the design & build quality is so poor, the machine is attractive looking and was exactly what we were looking for.

Cuisinart WCH-950 CleanWater 2-Gallon Countertop Water-Filtration System Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased one of these last week at Bed Bath and Beyond. I didn't even know I needed one until I saw it. As with most Cuisinart products, the design of the unit is quite nice. But aesthetics aren't everything.

To begin with, the directions aren't very clear. I attempted to pre-soak the filter as directed, but it didn't seem to do anything. Also, the initial filtering of the water took a lot longer than the instructions stated. I believe they said it would take about 15 minutes for the water to filter through into the dispenser. Mine took almost an hour. Who knows, maybe I didn't soak the filter properly. But that was just the beginning of my problems.

Once the water was filtered, I switched the device on. It was a lot louder than I thought it would be. Actually, I wasn't expecting much noise at all. The device does quiet down a bit, after it has reached its target temperatures for the hot and cold. But after you dispense some water, it kicks back in again. If you have a large kitchen, the sound of the device might not be a problem for you. After all, it's a small price to pay for instantly available hot and cold filtered water. OK, "instantly" might not be the best choice of words.

To dispense water from either side, you have to press in and hold the appropriate button. The water comes out in a steady stream, but a very thin stream. Which means, it takes a long time just to fill up one cup. Even as a single man, this kind of wait was unbearable. I can't imagine someone with a family using this device. In any case, if you do end up purchasing this device, I wish you luck. I ended up returning mine just a few days after I purchased it.

(More customer reviews)I followed the preparation instructions to the letter and two days later I was getting complaints from co-workers that the flow was too slow and that, most importantly, it was leaking at a mild but consistent rate...and not from the drains at the bottom of the unit but from the seams along the sides of the bottom, especially if it were tilted (we don't normally tilt our water dispenser but I did tilt it and it definitely increased in its pour rate). The unit would just sit there and leak at a slow but, again, consistent and irritating rate. I wish that I had just not bought itbut I am glad that we have the old tall tower that this unit was to replace because of its nice size.

Think again before you buy this.

Hot and Cold Water Dispenser in White Review

(More customer reviews)While it took a while to get here, my husband agrees with me that the Avanti Hot and Cold Water Dispenser was well worth the wait.

After our old dispenser gave up the ghost after twenty plus years, we looked at each other and said, 'what do we do now?' We tried shopping for another one locally but nobody had what we were looking for and we were, quite frankly, spoiled.

What do we like about the Avanti?

As the poet put it, let me count the ways.

First of all, because of its Energy Saver feature, the Avanti consumes less electricity than our old dispenser which ran constantly. It was also noisy. The Avanti, in contrast, is very quiet.

The Avanti features a neat little safety lock on the hot water faucet, which the old dispenser did not The storage space in the bottom, while it doesn't keep anything cold, is quite handy.

The Avanti's white plastic square design looks clean and nice. Our old brown metal dispenser did not. Also, unlike some of the round dispensers we looked at, the Avanti is not 'tippy'. Since it sits next to the kitchen doorway and a heavy traffic area, this was a real concern.

We also looked at dispensers that pumped from the bottom as well as the reviews and decided they were not for us.

The only CON was a chemical, almost musty, taste in the water for a few weeks after we got the Avanti, but that is now gone.

All in all, we are extremely pleased with the Avanti. It's much, much better than our old dispenser and we definitely give it 5 stars.

(More customer reviews)This product is great, I love it. It is SO easy to use, it does not store water in the pump so it stays clean, and I could not be happier. If I had purchased it straight from the company which Amazon got it from, I would have paid $10 less, but I know that Amazon keeps my identity safe, and my credit card numbers, so I was willing to spend the extra money. The other site seems legitimate, but it does not have any security seals and so the price difference is the price of your safety. The shipping was slow, but it did make it to me on the last day it was allowed; just took a while to get it out of the warehouse. This was the best investment I have made in a while, it is now very easy to drink water, it is kind of fun, and I can take it almost anywhere because it is small compared to all of the alternatives. I could easily use this camping, it would be a luxury on a camping trip, but right now I have it in my dorm room.

I turned around and ordered the Dolphin brand pump, paying 3 times more (counting shipping).I'm happy with the Dolphin pump.The one here is clearly a knock-off from a company in China using sub-grade materials. It is very flimsy and weak, one of the sections of the lower skirt fell off and it hasn't been mounted on a bottle yet. Out of the box the silicone seal was dirty and the plastic parts were scratched as though it had been used already.The Dolphin tubes are made of durable material (I think nylon) I recognize from my camping gear.This one is I think polypropylene. Don't waste your money, buy the name-brand pump made in Korea.

Unfortunately, the first unit I received had a small hole at the base of the spout, and a small stream of water sprayed out all over.I returned it and got a new one from Amazon 2 days later that so far, works fine.Could taste the difference in the water once installed (which was so easy I could figure it out without the instructions), and quite satisfied so far.Won't be able to report on how that alarm works for a while, but it starts at 4000, and turns off when using regular tap water and on again when using the filtered water.

Included were the diverting valve, filter wrench and batteries, but only came with one faucet adapter that worked with an outside thread and not for an inside thread.I called the company since Amazon doesn't provide parts and was told an adapter with an inside thread is not included for this model.Therefore I went to Lowe's and picked up an faucet adapter that worked for $2, so no big deal.However, I do feel I really shouldn't have to pay for a part that should be included in every water filter you connect directly to the faucet (might have rated it a 5 if not for that).

(More customer reviews)This is my first Haier product.I've had this for a couple weeks and it has been working great.When you first turn the cold water switch on, it takes about 10-15 mins to get cold, but if you leave it on it's cold all the time.Same with the hot water, it takes about 5 minutes or so to heat up.

One problem i've noticed (minus the one star) is that when you have both hot and cold water switches on, both the hot water and cold water compete for ready access.This is not a big deal, so I usually just leave one switch on a time (usually cold since it gets the majority usage).

As far as heating and cooling quality, when it's hot, it's SUPER hot.When it gets cold, it's cold enough to condensate your glass, but not ice cold - still refreshing!

UPDATE:Here's something else I wanted to add.Unlike other water coolers, this one does not run constantly cold or hot. If you have the cold switch on, it will keep recooling the water in cycles (you'll see the cold water light go on every 20-30 mins or after use).Same with hot water.If you have the switch on, it will reheat the water in cycles (every 20-30 mins or after use).Another minor annoyance (-.5 stars), but again, it's tolerable.
