(More customer reviews)This product eliminated my algae problem.I've owned a plaster pool for six years, and have at best only been able to keep the algae at bay, both green and red (red algae, not pink slime).I tried every chemical recommended by several pool stores, including super-chlorination and bromine.I was adding chlorine every two days and kept two floaters in at all times just to keep it at 1ppm; it got expensive.So when the pool store recommended this product because my phosphates were too high, I thought, "Sure... another expensive chemical to sell me."But I was desperate, so tried it anyway.My initial level was 1000ppb, which means that while I was trying to kill the algae with chlorine, the phosphates were feeding it.After two treatments (read the directions carefully) of 1.5 liters each, running the pump for 24 hours straight after each treatment, it was down to 300ppb (recommended level is <200).I added a third treatment for good measure.I haven't seen algae in three months.I add chlorine no more than once/week in the summer, and it easily stays at 3ppm.This is going to save me work, headaches, and $$$ on chlorine.It has nearly eliminated the calcium buildup on the tile at the waterline since I'm not shocking constantly.

WARNING:do not apply this until you have killed the algae in your pool.Yes, it removes the phosphates (algae food), but it somehow protects the existing algae, making it very hard to kill.Shock well, then use Phosfree the next day.

Update: I found silver algacide helps get rid of the red bacteria.

(More customer reviews)This vac was impressive out of the box. the suction was amazing... for a week. You quickly will discover that his vac takes an enormous amount of TLC. If you have a woman in the house with longish hair, or pets, it will clog up immediately.You have to use your fingers or a tool to pull out the debris EVERY time you vacuum. The filter pad has direct contact with debris, so it need to be replaced or washed every few vacuums.WE VACUUM EVERY DAY.. not carpet.. hard wood floors.. and this vac lasted a month before it completely died, despite all our extra care of unclogging, etc.
I'm not sure what it is supposed to vacuum up. It can't handle hair.. it chokes on anything bigger than a cheerio.
Miserable, awful product.Went into the garbage today.
I suspect it has probably already been discontinued.
PLEASE don't waste your money.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this coffee maker at the recommendation of a friend and I'm really happy with it so far. It has a selectable brew strength, a defeatable audio alarm that beeps when brewing is complete, a clock, and a delayed brew timer.

The delayed brew timer is nice to have if you want to wake up in the morning with a pot of coffee waiting for you. I've used the feature a few times, and I like having it, although most of the time I grind my own beans, so I don't like to let the grounds sit in the coffee machine overnight because they can get stale.Of course, that's unavoidable unless you spend the extra money on a machine that also grinds beans before brewing.

This coffee machine comes with a permanent, washable coffee filter that is sturdy, well-made, and washes out in the sink in a matter of seconds.It also comes with a charcoal water filter that is placed above the brew basket. The manual states that these should be changed every month (I wouldn't be surprised if they last longer than that, though). The replacement filters are inexpensive, but if you already have filtered water, you can leave it out.

Another feature that I really appreciate is the Fresh Brew timer, which allows you to see exactly how long that pot of coffee has been sitting there.If you're in a hurry, you can also pull the carafe out while the coffee is brewing to pour a cup.Once you put the carafe back in its spot, it continues normally.I've tried it a few times, and not a single drop has ever hit the hot plate.Oh, and the temperature of the hot plate is adjustable -- I got mine set at the perfect temperature so it doesn't burn the coffee if it's sitting there for a while.

My only complaints (and believe me, I'm trying pretty hard to come up with them): the display, while attractive, is a little on the bright side -- a switch to adjust the brightness would be nice, even if it was just a High/Low 2-way switch.An internal battery to keep the clock accurate in case of a power outage would have been a bonus too. Finally, even though it looks great and feels pretty strong, it's almost entirely plastic, so it doesn't have that solid "I'm going to outlast your children" feel to it that it might have if it had more metal in the construction.

All in all, I feel like I'm cheating it by giving it only four stars, but it's not quite 5 stars either. It would be a 4.5 for me if I could do that. :)

(More customer reviews)I have mostly hardwood floors and a little carpet and not a lot of space to store a bulky vacuum cleaner. It was difficult to find a model that would transition easily between wood and carpet. This model is excellent on the hardwood and tile floors, but it is not the greatest on the carpet. The suction is great and easily adjusted from the handle. It is easy to dump the dirt from the bagless collection area. It is a little small, so if fills up fast. The only other issue I have with this is that the cord is very short - so you have to keep replugging it in all over the house. Otherwise, a very lightweight, nicely designed vacuum. I am very pleased with it.
