(More customer reviews)I bought my house, and found that the previous owners had done their own kitchen remodel which left a really strange size cutout for the fridge.It took me weeks to find this one which (as far as I can tell) is the only counter depth and narrow refrigerator.Anyway, it is a good fridge.No complaints.The fridge is cool looking, but the only reason that I can think someone would buy this one is for size.If you aren't restricted by size, I would look at a wider fridge.

Good things to know... There is an inline water filter (works good, easy to change), ice maker doesn't take up too much room, the fridge is counter depth (they don't advertise it as such but you can tell by the dimensions and the back is flat).The inside is small but the fridge doesn't look freakishly small.Oh, the ice maker is temperamental; it doesn't bother me but if you love ice this could be a problem.

Almost no one carries these; if you need to "see" it I found a Samsungat the big box retailers that is about the same size.If more than two people live in your house, or you like to buy big soda bottles, etc., maybe take a peek at something with similar dimensions before you buy.

Intex Easy Set 8-Foot Pool Cover Review

(More customer reviews)There are holes in the cover (for ventiation I guess) and they let stuff in including water. The water eventually fills up on top of the cover & then the cover becomes to heavy to pull off without all the junk that has landed on top of the pool cover going in too. Also, by having the pool covered and the fact that the "filtration system" isn't too swift (to keep the water moving), algae & mildew form in the pool. So, I think I'm just going to try a small swimming pool net instead.

(More customer reviews)The container looks great!the Strainer is a bit on the difficult side to put in and take out but it does keep the tea out of the way.If you put the lid on to keep the tea warm you will burn your hands trying to get it off especially if you put it on tight. the glass does get warm when you fill it too.I wouldn't use black teas or any tea that goes bitter if over brewed in this because you can't remove the leaves w/o drinking all of it.I made an herbal Berry tea, I'm sure that if I added more sugar and water it would work as advertised and have a second cup.I like this Just wish that the top didn't get so hot!

(More customer reviews)Pros: The full width, but shallow produce/deli drawer is useful and good to have a selectable temp according to what's in it. We set the temp to Deli and keep sliced meats and cheese in it and its perfect for that, wide but shallow so everything is visible. That drawer complements the usual 2 produce drawers which are directly above. Door storage is nicely adjustable. The freezer has an upper drawer that works well for storage.

Cons: The icemaker kicks the ice into the tray with a real racket. Our old Amana made some noise this way, but this one wakes me up some nights. The ice thru the door will splash the drink onto the floor if there is already liquid in the glass (maybe other models do this too). The buttons on the door for controlling the fridge and thru-door functions aren't very good. The buttons are part of a smooth face, but the lighted phrases that indicate the mode are not buttons, the buttons are around the edges and aren't lit. Most folks try to press on the lighted phrases, which is more intuitive. For instance, to get ice thru the door, you have to first look and see if the symbol above "cubed", "crushed", or "water", is lit, and if your desired selection is not lit, you have to press the button marked "ice & water", WHICH IS NOT LIT, until your desired selection is lit. I know how to work it now, but no one new figures it out without help.

I should caveat these cons with the fact that we chose this fridge without trying it out first. We went to a Sears scratch and dent store, where we were able to save $1000 off list, but the models weren't powered up for demo. If I could have tried them powered up and found another model with more intuitive door controls I might have chosen that. But overall it is a very good fridge, especially at the price we paid.

(More customer reviews)No, I had not heard of this brand either when I went out looking for a refrigerator to replace my 30 year old GE.

Our problem is space. Even though I certainly wouldn't mind a huge Viking or something, the reality was around 18 cu ft. I went all over the place, looked at every brand and found that most companies spent their best efforts on the bigger models.

Then, I saw a Fisher and Paykell. It was the right size, had a beautiful simple design and the use of interior space was better than others in its size range. It had the desired bottom freezer, the controls were simple and made sense, the trays for fruits and vegetables were easy to access and the glass shelves could be adjusted, removed and cleaned easily.

Style-wise, I was drawn to the clean, curved door design made of smooth metal rather than textured plastic. I needed white, but the stainless is extremely good looking. F&P also now offers models with dispensers in the door.

Note that the doors are not reversible so you have to order the left or right door version.

The glass shelves extend from side to side and slide into little slots. It is easy to slide them out for cleaning or adjustment. Surprisingly, the little plastic dams that surround almost all glass shelves these days are absent on the ends of these shelves. I strongly suggest that you get a couple of shallow plastic trays to hold meat or other drippy things. That is probably a good idea for any fridge, actually.

There is no dedicated meat compartment I suspect a special separate compartment would break up the interior and isn't really needed anyway. The wide expanse of shelves is what makes this interior special.

We took out one of the shelves to free up space for big and tall things.

There are two little lidded compartments in the door that we use for butter and cheese. They are not very big and certainly could have been designed to hold more in the same space they occupy.

The fruit and vegetable trays are lidded and separate, with little adjustable vents to control the humidity. They slide nicely, access is good and cleaning is easy.

We like the bottom freezer. It uses a system of separate drawers, rather than one big bin. This is a good high-end touch and the real drawer sliders make it nicer to use. The bins on other models seemed terribly cheap in comparison.

The lighting in the fridge section is fine. The drawer system for the freezer part precludes a lighting system, at least one that wouldn't be impossibly complex. But, the bins slide out and it is easy to see in them under normal kitchen light.

On another site, a reviewer complained that a glass shelf broke. They do look a little vulnerable as they are so long and thin. However, we stored two turkeys on one shelf with no problems. Tempered glass is very strong and I would think problems would be rare.

There were also a couple of complaints about noise. Our kitchen is like astage where every sound is projected into the adjacent living room. Still, I can hardly hear it and it is rarely even on anyway. This may be a princess and the pea situation. In our case, the old fridge was 20x noisier, so this is fine.

Operation-wise, we are very happy. The fruits and vegetables do indeed last much longer than before, the ice cream (even Ben & Jerrys) is hard and the ice doesn't stick.

One oddity is that even when the feet are adjusted to tilt the unit back a bit, the doors will not close all the way on their own. The formidable gaskets hold it back. But not to worry. The door-open alarm will not let you forget. It will probably rid your house of rodents and insects.

We are happy with this fridge. It looks great, has about as much utility as possible in its size range and works well. I am hoping it will be reliable.

Hoover WindTunnel Canister Vacuum, Anniversary Edition, Bagged, S3670 Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased a Hoover carpet shampooer recently, and was very pleased with performance and quality, so naturally I looked at Hoover's line of vacuums. The price for the canister was a bit much, I thought---but I liked the idea of the freedom it offered, having had uprights for the last 10 years. My first impression was that the quality of the plastic wasn't there, so only 3 stars--for example, if you open the top to reveal the two small attachments (the other two: floor/brush and upholstery won't fit anywhere), the lid seems like it wouldn't take much pressure to accidently snap it off. Also, when it arrived, the plastic window covering wasn't attached--no problem, it snapped right in---but it left me with an unsettled feeling about my purchase. The good news is that it's pretty easy to roll, the handle is adjustable, and for the first time in ages I can actually vacuum under my bed :) I also like the way the canister secures the handle; it doesn't take much more room than the upright. The suction is good, as I haven't seen my carpet's nap in a while; it's around 5 years old. Overall, I think if it were priced a little less or the plastic was more durable, I'd feel better...but with both Hoover products, my carpet is looking more like its old 'new' self.

From 3 Stars to 1: About 8 months to a year after the purchase, the retractable cord started to have issues, and there seemed to be a power-connection problem too. This year the handle (or wand), which was my favorite feature because it moves up and down has broken somewhere, and it won't hold a new position. Suction isn't good anymore, and the bag changing is frequent and messy. Finally, while initially I felt it gave me more freedom in ease of use, it actually is a royal pain to maneuver anywhere: frequently tips over, and pivotal hose difficult to pivot.

UPDATE Nov 2010: I purchased a Shark Navigator in October, with a Square Trade Warranty---and feel LOTS better about it. The Hoover is now my husband's choice for vacuuming out the cars.

This unit is a tad shorter than others in this size class.It needs only 68.5" of clearance for the portion of the unit behind the hinges. There is a plastic cord holder/dust cover on the back left top of the ice box. This was a cover for a recessed area that looks like where the water connects to the ice maker. I had to remove it to fit under the 68.5" face frame I had.This leaves about 1/4" top clearance at the face frame of the upper cabinet (of course 2" above top when you get past the face frame). I did cover the recessed area with packing tape to keep dust out.

The touch screen is a little finicky about where you touch.To switch ice types or turn ice off, you actually don't touch the screen rather the top curved area of the ice/water portal - not very clear in manual, luckily there one one obscure picture that showed the correct spot.

The middle "flex" drawer looks very promising.

Will update this over time.

Update: 06/17/10
I did see a better picture about turning ice off - better that my initial review.Ice maker has a somewhat different and slightly louder "ice drop" sound.The ice making frequency could be faster, but only time will tell if it keeps up with summer demand.I did have to tweak the alignment of the upper doors - could not be simpler!!!
