Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus Upright Vacuum Review

Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus Upright Vacuum
Average Reviews:

I got this vacuum for thirty bucks so keep that in mind. There are units out there that cost ten times that. So how does the Dynamite Plus stack up?It sucks!Very, very well.I don't think I have ever used a vaccum that had such powerful suction. I bought a Dirt Devil cordless unit (the one that no one seems to like) about a year ago and it was garbage. I wondered if anyone really needed cordless while in the confines of their own home. Most likely not. Why not trade the dubious benefits of cordless for maximum sucking power? For the price there is proably no vacuum made that is more powerful. So why only 4 stars? Despite a vacuum that seems well built, convenient, light, bagless, portable, etc., there is one thing that is insanely ridiculous about the Dynamite Plus' design. All of that powerful suckiing power shoots right out a front grill of the vacuum.Like a tornado!!!!The first time I used it was in the kitchen it it literally blew all of the photos and notes off my refrigerator. The next time bordered on slapstick comedy if I could have considered it funny. I was vacuuming the hearth of my fireplace and the tornado-like exhaust fan blew ashes from the fireplace all over my living room!!!Who in their right mind would design a vacuum with a jet engine strong exhaust fan right in front pointing at the very dust and dirt you are going to vacuum?Final thought ... the plastic recepticle fills up very fast. I vacuumed what I thought was a clean tile floor in the kitchen and the dirt container was full. I emptied it and vacuumed my staircase and the dirt bag was full.Is this a bad thing? How can it be? The Dynamite Plus is sucking in dirt that I didn't even know existed. That's the whole reason I vacuum. So I would rate this as the best bargain of any vacuum I have ever seen except for that silly design flaw. It's not at all a reason to not purchase this vacuum. You just have to know how to avoid pointing it at things like fireplace ashes. Bottom line is I have never owned a vacuum with as much suction. This thing is dirt cheap for what it does.

Bissell Momentum Upright Vacuum, Bagless, 82G71 Review

Bissell Momentum Upright Vacuum, Bagless, 82G71
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We were fed up with our top-of-the-line Kenmore vacuum, which we bought in the hopes that a more expensive machine would also be more effective than the previous Hoovers and Eurekas that we suffered with. But that expensive monster was a nightmare from day one till the very end...and we decided that it might be better for us to buy a cheaper machine and replace it every year. We got recommendations from friends of ours to try out Bissell vacuum, and reviews on Amazon pointed us to this line of vacuums. We couldn't wait for it to be shipped to us, so we went to Target and found it on sale for $89. Yay!

Came home, took it out of the box, and discovered that the hose had to be attached, which was a bit of a challenge to the men of our household ;) But after that, it was good to go. And boy, does it ever go!!! It sucks stuff right out of the carpet, tends to take out a good bit of lint too, and the dust cup got filled very fast the first couple times we vacuumed our house. I think we had to empty the cup a few times the first time we vacuumed! So, that was very rewarding.

It's been a few months now that we've had this machine, and it's still behaving itself. The only thing that seems a bit weak is the hose, which got twisted out of shape at the head end, but we can live with that. It still has the same suction power, and doesn't cause us any undue grief, and if it does, I believe the hose is easy to replace.

The dust cup is nice...I was wary of going the bag-less route, but the convenience of this surprised me pleasantly. Empty the cup into a grocery bag once the dust has settled (we do it before we run it again, rather than after a vacuum session) so that dust does not rise up in a soft cloud. There is an indicator light which tells you when the machine is not at its optimum suctioning power, and this is beyond useful! Wash your filter when the indicator goes to red, and you'll be back to normal.

The 35 (or 40?) foot cord is very nice. Make sure you do not get it trapped underneath the brush, as the cord's outer coating will get worn off; you will be an unhappy person when that happens! (A bit of electrical tape will take care of it when it happens, though.)

I took off one star because of the somewhat weakly-constructed hose, and the fact that the brushes can't be turned off when using the attachments or doing bare floors.

Happy vacuuming!

Megahome Glass Collection Bottle 1 Gallon Review

Megahome Glass Collection Bottle 1 Gallon

$45 for a glass container?Way too much, but nothing else will fit the distiller properly. You could buy a microwave oven for that much! Some assembly required and NO instructions; not too hard to figure out though.Looks nice, but a full gallon of water weighs about 8 pounds so don't try to lift the full container just by the handle.

Eureka 940A Pet Lover Bagless Canister Vacuum Cleaner Review

Eureka 940A Pet Lover Bagless Canister Vacuum Cleaner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I loved this machine, bought it esp. because it was recommended for multiple pet households and we have 4 cats (long and short hair) and a dog. It works fantastic on bare floors and carpets, not so well on rugs, since the beater bar is driven by suction only. "Pet paw" was a little small, but overall it really cleaned the place, because the suction is GREAT! Because it is really small it was also real easy to carry it up and down our steps, also loved that the attachments are not fixed in position down by the floor so you can not bump them and they fall off as other vacuums have it. I did not buy the product here, but I ended up returning it to the company because the canister is a little small for our house. I needed to clean too often and it is a pretty messy business to clean the HEPA filter (which I now understand is typical for canister vacuums), hence I decided to rather replace bags with a lot less mess. Whoever does not mind that...it works fantastic for what I expected!

Product Description:
Designed with pet lovers in mind, this canister vacuum cleaner features a powerful 10-1/2 amp motor for maintaining a well-groomed home, from top to bottom. The unit's turbo-driven carpet tool takes on carpets and rugs, while its 12-inch floor brush safely and effectively cleans bare-floor surfaces like hardwood, linoleum, and tile. Use the included telescoping wand for added reach and the combination crevice tool/dusting brush to access tight spots or to clean tabletops, bookshelves, and more. The machine also provides a Pet Power Paw tool, whose unique design effectively removes dust, dirt, and pet hair from carpets, stairs, and upholstery--plastic teeth loosen it, a rubber strip grabs it, and bristles lift it up and away. In addition to sparkling floors and surfaces, the vacuum delivers cleaner, more breathable indoor air thanks to its cyclonic chamber filter and HEPA exhaust filter, which captures 99.97-percent of dust, allergens, and pet dander. Even more, its user-friendly control panel on the main body includes an over-sized button for turning the unit "on" and "off"; a dial for adjusting the motor speed, which allows for reducing the suction power when vacuuming delicate items like drapes or blinds; and a button to automatically rewind the 20-foot power cord--simply push and hold. Other highlights include a 6-foot hose, a handy "bin-full/filter-plugged" indicator, an easy-to-empty dirt cup, rubber-coated wheels that won't scratch floors, and a carrying handle for convenient transport. The vacuum cleaner measures 16 by 10 by 11 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

Eureka 431DX Optima® Lightweight Vacuum (Spring Green) Review

Eureka 431DX Optima® Lightweight Vacuum
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This unit is easy to set up, compact and great buy. As is the same with other Eureka products, it has the problem of air coming out IN FRONT and blowing the dust away though, suction is great and much less noise compared to my old Dirt Devil Jaguar. As it is still a week since I started using this unit, I cannot mention anything about durability, but I have an impression this one is manufactured and made up well from its structure. This compact and light weight unit is ideal as a second vacuum cleaner, and also could be used as the single unit for a family living in an apartment with great suction and easy handling, I suppose. The air blowing out in front is the only, and not a small issue so I rate one star less than five.

Eureka 431F Optima Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner Review

Eureka 431F Optima Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
You can just feel the amount of air getting sucked through this thing.Although small, it's got a very effective 12amp motor, and still fits under a shelf in the closet with our board games. It's simple, sturdy and functional.

My wife and I were going to register for a Dyson, but when we played with one at Macy's it felt rickety. We were really surprised as we'd heard nothing but great things about them. But we decided we couldn't blow $400 on a big, plastic monstrosity.I'm sure they're really great, but our modest 900sq' just don't need the BMW of vacuums.

In particular I like the handle.Looks weird, but it's perfect. The hose only comes with two attachments; that's all you need, and the hose itself is just long enough. The brush height is automatically adjusting. The power switch is a simple three-position switch that goes: off / motor / motor and brush. And the dust catch and filter are easy enough to remove and empty.

A Dyson may very well last forever, but I could buy six of these, which would still be half the weight of the smallest Dyson and easier to hide away.

Happy housekeeping.
