Oreck? XL Tabletop Air Purifier Black (Refurbished) Review

Oreck? XL Tabletop Air Purifier Black

Quite simply a very effective way of filtering the air. I won 2 so I know what I am talking about.I smoke a lot indoors and you will be amazed at how quickly it can clear out a room of cigarette smoke. My wife things I already quit smoking so I smoke when she isnt home.I tried HEPA and Ionizers.HEPA works but I have to keep replacing the filter because cigarette smoke somehow clogs the filter to the point that the filter smells like a cigarette filter. Cigarette smoke is the good test of how good an air filter is. I love it.Try it.It is actually really fun to watch the smoke cloud vanish.

Light Force 300 Upright Vacuum Cleaner in Green Review

Light Force 300 Upright Vacuum Cleaner in Green
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My first vacuum was the Eureka Altima. It looks pretty much just like this one same price ect. I bought that vacuum in November 2006. It did a great job for 3 straight years. It went from our apartment to now our town house. However it started to act funny...it would shut off unexpectedly, or not turn off. Something electrical and probably could have been fixed. But I convinced my husband it was time to retire our old vacuum. I have a 2.5 year old a 4 month old and a chow-chow. Being Christmas time and having the old vacuum acting weird I couldn't spend a lot of money.
When I found this vacuum I decided to order it. I am so glad I did. Once again I got a great vacuum for a great price. It picks up everything...It's no Dyson but for the price who can argue? It cost 1/5 of the cheapest dyson.
There are a few flaws: 1) the HEPA filter has to be cleaned often..I don't mind it because it gets the dust and stuff out. Also this is because I have a dog and the hair gets around it and it loses suction. 2) it does not have a bare floor setting...but once again it's okwith me. I tend to sweep my kitchen then use the hose to suck up the dirt. Our bedrooms are hardwood and I do the same as in kitchen.
If you have previously owned a Eureka I would encourage you to get this one.

Austin Air HEGA (Allergy Machine) Air Purifier - Black Review

Austin Air HEGA Air Purifier - Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have severe chemical sensitivities. I've tried almost every filter on the market that is supposed to take fragrances, etc. out of the air, but I've found none that lives up to their promises like the ones with the carbon filters by Austin. I have this in my home and it is certainly worth every penny I spent. Any perfumes or other fragrances that enter my home are taken care of pretty efficiently by this. For my 1100 sq. ft. home I keep this one in my bedroom and the Healthmate plus (also by Austin Air) in the living room and together they really keep the air clean. In fact, I usually cannot tell if there is a skunk nearby unless I open a door or a window...and my house is certainly not air tight.

The main difference between this one and the Healthmate Plus is that the Healthmate Plus works the best on chemicals/fragrances in the air where this one is a good all purpose filter that also takes fragrances out of the air. This is why I keep it in my bedroom - I have a dust allergy and while the Healthmate Plus is certainly good at taking dust out of the air but we chose the Allergy Machine for my bedroom.

There are three settings, low, medium and high. High is pretty loud, but not an irritating sound; low isn't too loud, but it is certainly not silent. You don't hear the motor, rather it is the airflow coming out that makes the sound. It is, what I consider, a gentle "white noise" sound.

It has wheels (they don't lock) that move very well and I've never had one fall off. In fact, I find these machines very well made - not shabby - and I've had them for five years. They are made of metal and not plastic and I've never had to air one out.

If you buy this for chemical sensitivities make sure it is the one with the carbon zeolite filter. If it is missing that one (and therefore about $100 cheaper) the other filters can become contaminated with fragrances and don't air out quickly. We accidentally didn't order the right filter the first time and found out the hard way; after days of airing one out outside with the filter running on full it didn't improve. We then ordered the carbon zeolite filter and were pleased that my husband didn't have a hard time taking this apart to replace the filter; it wasn't completely easy as the filter isn't really light, but it was certainly doable.

One thing you should do is to vacuum the holes on the outside once in a while because they will start getting a little clogged up with dust after a couple years (or less if you don't vacuum or dust often).

The filter is good for four years and if you contact the manufacturer before then needing a new one (we use ours ALL the time and so needed to replace ours after three) they will, as of a few months ago at least, prorate a replacement.

Overall, I'm very pleased and would highly recommend this.

Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus Upright Vacuum Review

Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus Upright Vacuum
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got this vacuum for thirty bucks so keep that in mind. There are units out there that cost ten times that. So how does the Dynamite Plus stack up?It sucks!Very, very well.I don't think I have ever used a vaccum that had such powerful suction. I bought a Dirt Devil cordless unit (the one that no one seems to like) about a year ago and it was garbage. I wondered if anyone really needed cordless while in the confines of their own home. Most likely not. Why not trade the dubious benefits of cordless for maximum sucking power? For the price there is proably no vacuum made that is more powerful. So why only 4 stars? Despite a vacuum that seems well built, convenient, light, bagless, portable, etc., there is one thing that is insanely ridiculous about the Dynamite Plus' design. All of that powerful suckiing power shoots right out a front grill of the vacuum.Like a tornado!!!!The first time I used it was in the kitchen it it literally blew all of the photos and notes off my refrigerator. The next time bordered on slapstick comedy if I could have considered it funny. I was vacuuming the hearth of my fireplace and the tornado-like exhaust fan blew ashes from the fireplace all over my living room!!!Who in their right mind would design a vacuum with a jet engine strong exhaust fan right in front pointing at the very dust and dirt you are going to vacuum?Final thought ... the plastic recepticle fills up very fast. I vacuumed what I thought was a clean tile floor in the kitchen and the dirt container was full. I emptied it and vacuumed my staircase and the dirt bag was full.Is this a bad thing? How can it be? The Dynamite Plus is sucking in dirt that I didn't even know existed. That's the whole reason I vacuum. So I would rate this as the best bargain of any vacuum I have ever seen except for that silly design flaw. It's not at all a reason to not purchase this vacuum. You just have to know how to avoid pointing it at things like fireplace ashes. Bottom line is I have never owned a vacuum with as much suction. This thing is dirt cheap for what it does.

Austin Health Mate Jr. (700 sq. ft.--Sandstone) Review

Austin Health Mate Jr.
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This filter is 14 inches tall and is 11 inches square which is large compared to many air filters, but if you are used to seeing the big ones all the time this one is so, excuse me - cute! Ok, so diminuative that after living with the big ones for five years I can't get over how I feel like a giant around it because it is identical to the big ones in every way except for its size and output. It is much quieter than the large ones because it isn't putting out as much air, but this is great for a little bedroom in our house and it takes care of both dust and chemicals.

I have severe chemical sensitivities and so I've tried almost every filter on the market that is supposed to take fragrances, etc. out of the air, but I've found none that lives up to their promises like this one does.

It has wheels (they don't lock) that move very well and I've never had one fall off. In fact, I find these machines very well made - not shabby. They are made of metal and not plastic and I've never had to air one out.

If you buy this for chemical sensitivities make sure it is the one with the carbon zeolite filter. If it is missing that one (and therefore cheaper) the other filters can become contaminated with fragrances and don't air out quickly.

One thing you should do is to vacuum the holes on the outside once in a while because they will start getting a little clogged up with dust after a couple years or sooner if you don't vacuum or dust regulary.

The filter is good for four years and if you contact the manufacturer before then needing a new one (we use ours ALL the time and so needed to replace ours after three) they will, as of a couple years ago ago at least, prorate a replacement.

It would be far more expensive and less effective to put one of these in each room of your house than getting a couple big ones for the whole house. I'd recommend this for traveling (the big ones are heavy and awkward to travel with, but these are quite nice) or for when you only need to clean the air in one room. It would probably work quite well in an office and isn't so loud you can't talk on the phone. Very nice.

Overall, I'm very pleased and would highly recommend this.

Product Description:
How does it work? The Austin Healthmate Jr. air purifier employs the highest efficiency 5 stage air filtration system to ensure the best air purification performance in dust, smoke, odors and chemicals removal. An advanced backward curved blower draws air through a durable 360 degree perforated steel air intake, and is channeled through a pre filter that traps larger particles, and then moves to the HEPA filter, which captures 99.97% of all particles larger than 0.3 microns in size (300 times smaller than the width of a human hair). The large activated granular carbon/zeolite canister located beneath the HEPA filter is crucial for the effective removal of 4000 chemical substances and noxious odors in the air. The Austin Healthmate does not produce ozone, ions, or negative ions that can be dangerous to those with respiratory problems like asthma and emphysema. Activated Carbon and Zeolite Activated carbon is one of the best-known substances for removing gases and odors fro the air. The Austin Healthmate uses the best source of activated carbon derived from coconut shells. Zeolite is a natural cream-colored mineral that has the capability of capturing small molecules such as ammonia, formaldehyde and sulfides. The Austin Healthmate uses a minimum of 13.5 pounds of activated carbon and zeolite. They are combined into one large cartridge that scrubs incoming air of all odors and chemicals.

Bissell Cleanview Helix Plus Upright Vacuum, Bagless, 22C1 Review

Bissell Cleanview Helix Plus Upright Vacuum, Bagless, 22C1
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
UPDATE: I've vacuumed my apartment every other day since my last review. I am happy to say it's running as good today as it has the day I got it. It still picks up an amazing amount of dirt, and I have not had to change the HEPA media filter yet (although I can already see discoloration-I will probably by a reusable this May).

I received my Bissell 22C1 from Amazon today so my review will be my immediate views and I plan to update this once again later on this winter. As a quick background our household had 2 adults and a medium haired cat living in an apartment with white, poor quality carpet. We both suffer from allergies.

Assembly & Parts:

When the package first arrives it requires minimum assembly. The filters are all in the correct places already, and the one tool you need is a screwdriver to screw the vacuums handle onto the body. It took more time opening the boxes than it took to put the vacuum together. The cord is long enough to vacuum my living room.

Test drive:

Since you have to screw the handle onto the body, the power switch is on the side of the vacuum, which seemed kind of weird to me.

I honestly cannot believe how much dirt it picked up from my carpet (both hair and dust). My carpet has always looked dirty, but after vacuuming it looks like the color lightened up by one shade. Of course it wont work miracles, but I am so much more satisfied with my carpet than I was before. Even when vacuuming the edges of the carpet (along the wall), the vacuum gets very close to the wall. It's not to the point where you wont need to use the crevice tool every once in a while, but at least you wont have to worry about it constantly.

Cleaning the dirt container is extremely easy! My old bagless vacuum made me take a tank out of the body, and lift the filter out of the tank before I was able to toss the dirt out. With this tool all you do is slide a knob from the left to right, then the tank is easy lifted away from the body and dumped out without having to touch anything gross inside.

In case you're wondering about how much parts will cost with the unit:
the part number for the 'Style 9 Drive Belt' (2 pack) is 32074
Standard headlight Bulb: 203-1297
Style 16 outer circular pre-motor filter: 69B1
Style 7/9/16 HEPA media filter: 32076
Style 7/9/16 Post motor filter: 3099

The manual gives directions on how to replace all bulbs and filters, as well as details on how to service it (yourself) and common vacuum issues like fixing a clog.

So far the vacuum's been great. I'm happy I purchased it and would recommend it. Great product for the price! And the manual is very helpful so hopefully in the future I wont have to bring it into the repair shop!

Equipped with a 12 amp motor, this bagless upright vacuum cleaner provides maximum suction power for thoroughly cleaning the home from top to bottom. The unit effectively removes dust, dirt, and dry spills from both carpets and bare-floor surfaces, while its opaque wire-reinforced stretch hose and onboard attachments make above-floor cleaning a snap. Use the TurboBrush for upholstery and stairs, the crevice tool to access narrow spaces, the 11-inch wand for extended reach, and the combination upholstery/dusting brush to clean tabletops, bookshelves, furniture, and more. Best of all, the unit's exclusive Helix dirt-separation system filters dirt and debris, protecting the motor and fan to ensure effective cleaning and long-lasting performance. The unit also offers a wide 15-inch cleaning path, five adjustable-height options, dual-edge cleaning, a "clean filter" indicator, and a HEPA media filter, which traps over 99.9 percent of dust mites, pollens, and ragweed for cleaner, more breathable indoor air. Blueair ECO10 Energy-Star HEPASilent Air Purifier Review

Blueair ECO10 Energy-Star HEPASilent Air Purifier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the first air purifier I ever purchased.I think the full list price of $900 is outrageous and would not have bought it at full price for what is almost a big computer case with a high quality fan and very high quality HEPA filters. However, I jumped at the chance to buy it at the 50% off sale price or $450.So far it's working really well. It's a bit bulky, but then all good air purifiers are because the filters need enough surface area to work properly. It achieves low power consumption largely by having a large filter area so that the air velocity can be kept low while keeping the air volume high.Low air velocity translates to lower energy consumption and lower noise.

At 10 Watts on the high setting, even if I run it 24/7, the energy consumption will be only $1 a month and my electricity rate in California is a high 14 cents per kWh.

The power switch's placement at foot level is very inconvenient.Unless you leave the unit on for 24 hours a day, everyday, you'll find it a chore to have to constantly bend down to access the switch.

The outside of the product's packaging, as well as all the websites I've visited(including Amazon), says the filters last up to 12 months. That's actually incorrect advertising. The manual says for "optimal use" the filters should be changed every six months.I've noticed the air flow decreased noticeably after 2 months of use at 12 hours a day. Furthermore, in order for the 10-year warranty to be valid, Blueair requires the buyer to change the filters every six months and to send in the registration as explicitly stated in the manual.Of course, the question is whether Blueair will require proof that the user bought new filters every six months when it comes time for warranty work.Oh, another thing, the warranty is only 10 years, not "lifetime" as the websites state, another incorrect advertisement!

The filters cost $100 per set.So if I change the filters religiously every 6 months, the filters alone will cost $200 a year, plus $12 a year for electricity. With charcoal, the operating cost will exceed $300 a year.Ouch! Also, keep in mind that this is just the operating cost for one large room (up to 300 sq. ft.) and not for the whole house.

It's quiet enough even on high that I can sleep with it on high, and on the low setting, it sounds about as loud as a somewhat loud computer case fan and is mostly unobtrusive. The fan noise is not unpleasant. In fact, I sometimes use it on the high setting as a passable white noise machine to drown out ambient noises when I go to sleep.

The only true negative with this unit is it's exclusively a particulates filter. It has no charcoal to absorb odor.In order for the purifier to be effective, I need to keepmy bedroom door closed. When the filters were new, the air got stuffy overnight when I kept the door closed.I think it was the smell of the new filters, but after a couple of weeks, the stuffy smell went away. For those who want to filter odor, Blueair makes Smokestop filters include charcoal. The Smokestop filters cost almost twice as much as the regular Eco10 filters and are also not as readily available.

It's interesting to note that the Eco10 has virtually the same 250 CFM rating as the IQAir Heatlh Pro and practically the same percentage particulate reduction. Therefore the two units should have about the same area coverage rating. But the IQAir claims effective up to 900 sq. feet, whereas the Blueair Eco10 only claims 300 sq. ft. with 6 air changes per hour(which is the generally recommended rate by experts). This tells me the IQAir's capacity is overrated vs. the conservative rating of the Eco10.I tried to find the CADR rating of the IQAir but couldn't find it anywhere.Based on the fact that the Blueair Eco10 has a CADR of about 200, I surmise the IQAir has similar CADR.I just don't see how a 200 CADR unit can cover 900 sq. ft.Maybe that's why Consumer Report gave the IQAir a low rating.

Summary:

Pluses:very quiet compared to other brands, very effective filtration down to 0.1 micron at 99.97% efficiency, good air flow of around 250 CFM, good CADR rating of around 200, ultra low electricity consumption.

Minuses:short filter life, very high operating costs because of short filter life and expensive filters, no charcoal to absorb odors, unless you opt for the even more expensive Smokestop filters.

Bottomline:Quiet unit and very energy efficient, BUT the energy savings will not even come close to offsetting the high operating costs associated with the frequent changes of expensive filters.

Product Description:
Combining ease of use with an environmentally friendly design, this unique air purifier delivers cleaner, healthier indoor air for rooms measuring approximating 20 by 15 feet. Its front-access control knob allows for selecting from two speeds--HEPA silent or Max airflow. Even on "Max airflow" the air purifier delivers whisper-quiet operation at just 49 db. The unit also provides an ultra-efficient EC fan motor and HEPASilent technology, which uses electrostatic and mechanical filtration to quickly and quietly capture 99.97-percent of particles down to 0.1 micron in size, including allergens such as pollen grains, dust mites, mold spores, and pet-dander particles. Three HEPASilent filters come included.
Thanks to Blueair's commitment to the environment, standard triclosan-coated paper or glass filter fibers have been replaced with safer, nontoxic polypropylene, one of the least harmful plastics, which produces only carbon dioxide and water as it decomposes, which means no toxins released into landfills or the air. Polypropylene's also waterproof, so the air filter naturally resists contamination from bacteria, viruses, and mold, without chemical additives or washes. The 100-percent recyclable filter should be replaced once a year, but vacuuming the purifier's main filter unit can help prolong filter life. The air purifier also comes with four pre-filters that trap large particles and ensure long-lasting performance. Other highlights include an award-winning Swedish design, smooth-rolling casters, and a CADR of 190 for smoke, 195 for dust, and 200 for pollen.
Furthermore, the purifier uses up to 95-percent less energy than other comparable air cleaners. In fact, it's more than earned its Energy Star rating. Even on high speed, the unit runs on just 10 watts of power, making it nearly 10 times more energy efficient than the minimum performance requirements established by the EPA's Energy Star program. Choosing Energy Star products can help save up to a third on energy bills, as well as on greenhouse gas emissions. All of which means purified indoor air without excess costs or impact on the environment. The air purifier measures 26 by 20 by 13 inches and carries a limited lifetime warranty.

Alen Desktop Air Purifier - T100 Review

Alen Desktop Air Purifier - T100
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This little purifier looks good, has three fan speeds, and a "ion" mode that can be turned off. The HEPA filter gets changed every 6 months and costs $20. To get the "lifetime warranty" you need to sign up for a filter delivery program. This may not be too bad if you use the unit all the time, but it is not too clear how to stop the program once initiated. My first unit was noisy, so I requested a replacement. The replacement arrived promptly, and works well. On low fan setting, it is very quiet. Higher settings circulate a LOT of air, and should be good if you have a serious problem.

Blueair 403 SMOKESTOP Air Purifier Review

Blueair 403 SMOKESTOP Air Purifier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
A IQAir HealthPro Plus helps with new furniture off-gassing in the living room while a Sharp FP-P40CX + Blueair 403 SmokeStop combo does the same in the master bedroom. The lack of electronic controls (403 versus the 450E) means improved durability. As far as I am concerned, the more durable a device is, the lower the overall cost of ownership as warranty claims require that the owner cover shipping costs to the factory. The 403 is the bang-for-the-buck model in the Blueair inventory. The SmokeStop filter with impregnated carbon granules is a great improvement over the standard HEPASilent by providing both lightweight multigas and odor filtration. CADR 240 means that it should be good for rooms up to 240 sqft (regardless of manufacturer claims) through the life of the filter (as ACH declines due to clogged media). Let the unit run 24/7, else cover it when not in use to prevent the accumulation of dust on the exposed internals. Periodically clean the fan with compressed air and vacuum the intake grill/ion brush region/housing floor regularly, regardless of the presence of accumulated dust. Because the filters (made in the USA) are not exactly cost effective (versus the cost of the unit itself), I run a smaller filtration unit (Sharp FP-P40CX) in the opposite corner of the room so that filter media changes can be extended to one year (YMMV, depends on your IAQ). I prefer the single filter cartridge of the 400 series units to that of the triple filter setup found in the 500 and 600 series. And unlike the 500 and 600 series models which intake air from the bottom of the unit, the 400 series models are better suited for placement on carpeted flooring. The Blueair 403 is assembled in China (I have no problem with that) from parts procured from Germany, Sweden and the USA.

Austin Air Healthmate Plus Air Purifier - HEPA Air Cleaner

I am becoming less and less thrilled with Austin Air.We have purchased over a dozen of these units for our home and for others in the past 10 years and at first, we were really happy with them. The DO clean the air and ARE good for allergies but the DO break within months of their warranty and the company is NOT helpful with getting them taken care of.Every person gives you a different story and blames the last person - even when you speak to the same person 2x you get two different opinions and over the years they keep changing how they fix units and the costs. It now costs $100 parts/labor and about $60 shipping both ways to have them fix a unit.If you do this every several years PLUS need to change the filter every 2-3 years it is REALLY expensive to have these units.I'd feel differently if I felt the customer service was helpful but I was so frustrated the last time we needed to send in yet another unit and yet again the price went up and they didn't know what to do...as someone who has sent 50+ customers their way in the past 10 years as well as I work with chemically sensitive people, I am now looking at other options.

Austin Air Hega Jr. Air Purifier Review

Austin Air Hega Jr. Air Purifier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the first time I've purchased an air purifier not based on the cadr, so I was a little nervous. But it is great. From day one, the air in my bedroom has smelled very fresh. In addition, I purchased this because of a potential mold problem in my apartment.Since using it, I have experienced less symptoms than before.I like it so much, I'm thinking of purchasing another one for my second floor because the old Hunter I have isn't sufficient.

I would recommend this air purifier to anyone, especially if you have allergies. The only reason I didn't give this a 5-star rating is because it is a little noisy on high (although for normal uses, it probably wouldn't need to always be run on high like I'm doing because of my mold problem). Also, you have to have some place out of the way to put it as it must be set 8 inches from the wall with the air output facing away from the wall.

Product Description:
The Austin Air HEGA air purifier is an economical answer to allergen, VOC, gas and odor removal. Reports by consumer experts indicate that Austin HEGA Standard and Jr. Air Purifiers are perfect for someone who: (1) Has multiple chemical sensitivities and needs an air filter that doesn't offgas (2) Needs HEPA particulate (small particle) filtration as well as gases, odors and or smoke problems (3) Is a city dweller with medium particulate allergies who also may have city or neighborhood pollutants that produce odors, gases and or soot. Most people have heard of HEPA filtration which is HIGH EFFICIENCY PARTICULATE ADSORPTION filtration (good for small particles such as dust, danger, pollen, mold, etc.) Some allergy sufferers also need chemicals, odors, and gases removed from their environments (new homes, city living, apartment living). This type of gas filtration is usually achieved by using some type of carbon or carbon/zeolite pellets to absorb the gases and odors. Some manufacturers are now also using a carbon cloth filter for gas and odor control. Austin Air's product development team developed a method for combining the carbon cloth's gas trapping properties with HEPA particles filtration. Austin engineers named their new filtration discovery HEGA - High Efficiency Gas Adsorption. Activated carbon is woven into a lightweight cloth, which is powerful enough to protect military personnel from toxic poisons.

Airfree Onix 3000 Mobile Home Air Purifier Sanitizer Unit System Review

Airfree Onix 3000 Mobile Home Air Purifier Sanitizer Unit System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Having recently been diagnosed with asthma I was anxious to find a good air purifier for my bedroom.I opted for the Airfree Onix 3000 because it was not only rated highly but, amazingly, required no maintenance.Within a matter of hours after plugging it in I noticed that the air smelled a lot fresher and the first morning after having the purifier in my room I woke up with almost no congestion in my nose (a first!)so it must be doing a good job of getting rid of the allergens. The best part is that because I am a light sleeper it's wonderful to have a purifier that is totally silent. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the anti-stress light but it's kind of a pretty so I may just leave it on.It's too early to comment on this product's longevity but I am extremely happy with it so far.So happy, in fact, that I am ordering 2 more for other parts of our house.

Product Description:
The most tested air purifier. Airfrees exclusive patented Thermodynamic Sterilizing System (TSS) technology has been independently tested in real life working environments by world renowned institutions and ISO 17025 laboratories in six different countries including the USA, Sweden and Germany. These tests prove that Airfree totally destroys up to 99.99 per cent microorganisms that pass through its patented TSS no matter how small or hazardous they might be. Airfree emits no ozone (considered an asthma trigger by the EPA). Airfree TSS technology generates no dangerous emission, NO ions, NO UV Light and NO ozone. In fact, independent tests in laboratories in Sweden demonstrate that Airfree actually reduces ozone by 26 per cent. Be aware that some manufacturers claim that their products generate ozone within the limit established by EPA of 0.05 ppm. Nevertheless, EPA warns that these devices are not guaranteed to maintain their ozone emissions within such level. However, it is important to note that the 0.05 ppm concentration limit is for an 8 hour exposure period and that air purifiers are used 24 hours a day, which may exceed that limit. Would you be comfortable having your family and yourself breathing such poisonous gas? No need to change dirty contaminated filters nor to clean dirty blades. For allergic people, contact with infected materials can be very harmful, possibly resulting in a severe allergic reaction. Airfree

Alen Tower Air Purifier - T300 Review

Alen Tower Air Purifier - T300
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a good air filter. I have pretty bad allergies, and when we first moved into this house it had brand new carpet and I would be miserable 5 minutes after walking in the door. I moved my T300 in from my previous apartment, and about a day later came back and had no allergy symptoms whatsoever.

PROS: -Cleans extremely well.
-Filters last longer than 6 months.
-Quiet on lower settings

CONS: -Have noticed a problem with the back cover. It takes some work to get the unit to recognize that the back cover is installed. Customer service told me I could adjust the sensor for it but haven't tried yet.
-Lamps are ridiculously expensive. Don't last. Don't buy them for sixty bucks!Get the Phillips PL5/UV at bulbman(dot)com for thirteen bucks! Its better and is the exact bulb specs for the T300...
-Noisy on "medium" and "high"

1. A review of how easy it is to put the thing together.

Product Description:
Equipped with a 12 amp motor, this bagless, multi-cyclonic, upright vacuum cleaner provides powerful suction for thoroughly cleaning the home from top to bottom. The unit effectively removes dust, dirt, dry spills, and more, while its automatic height adjustment makes it possible to transition effortlessly from bare-floor surfaces to low- or high-pile carpeting (no need for manual adjusting). For added convenience, its 8-1/2-foot wire-reinforced stretch hose and various attachments make above-floor cleaning a snap. Use the TurboBrush for small areas such as stairs and upholstery; the crevice tool to access tight, narrow spaces; the extension wand for longer reach; and the dusting brush to dust furniture, blinds, books, lamps, shelves, and other delicate surfaces. It also comes with a bendable wand attachment for cleaning under couches, beds, dressers, and other hard-to-reach areas, as well as a deluxe floor tool that works with the bendable wand attachment--the tool's pivoting, lint brush bar collects hair, dust, and other debris with each pull-back motion and releases debris into the suction path of the tool with each push-forward motion. When collected dirt reaches the "full" line, it's time to empty to dirt container--a simple push button makes it easy to empty without getting hands dirty. In addition, the vacuum cleaner provides a washable pre-motor filter that protects the motor from dirt particles and a HEPA media post-motor filter that captures over 99.9-percent of dust mites, pollens, and ragweeds to ensure clean air gets released back out into the room. Other highlights include fingertip on/off controls, a 13-1/4-inch cleaning path, dual-edge cleaning, a soft bumper to protect furniture and baseboards from marking, a carrying handle, a 25-foot power cord, cord storage, and a tool bag to keep all the attachments neatly stored. The upright vacuum cleaner measures 13 by 14-1/2 by 45 inches and carries a five-year limited warranty.

Dustless Technologies 16006 16-Gallon Dustless Wet/Dry Vacuum with Hepa Filter, 12-Foot by 1-1/2-Inch Hose Review

I purchased this machine based on the specs. Supposedly it is dustless. I used it for vacuuming drywall/mud sanding.I actually had the machine outside of the room so that the exhaust won't disturb the drywall all over the place. I looked outside to see that the machine was coated with a light layer of drywall that I sucked up.The filter was on securely by the manufacturer. I also used the pre-filter bag to help the life of the filter. You can see the drywall dust came from the exhausting ports of the machine. The machine is made with durable plastic. The attachments could have gaskets or something to help seal and secure the vacuum.I'd say this is one of the most powerful vacuums I have used, but it is also 2x the amount. It's light weight and moves easily.I was just disappointed that the dustless claim was not real. Also, there isn't a secondary layer when removing the pre-filter bag from the machine, so you might be getting some dust or debris floating around when discarding. The attachments don't secure firmly to the tool holders. Sometimes the tools would fall off when moving the vacuum around.I'd give it 3.5 stars.
