Bissell Velocity Dual Cyclonic Upright Vacuum - 3950 Review

Bissell Velocity Dual Cyclonic Upright Vacuum - 3950

Now to be honest, this is a girly looking vacuum. It looks kinda purplish and two toned at that, in fact, Bissell calls it a Dark Cherry Fiz color. However, my wife liked the color, so that was a selling point for her. It also weighs considerably less than the Dirt Devil did, which was also a major selling point for both my wife and myself. (Yes, I do vacuum when nagged enough!)

So I brought it home, took it out of the box, and after 3 screws and 15 minutes later, the vacuum was put together. I found the assembly very easy to do, and the instructions quite straight forward.

Observations:
Right away I turned on the vacuum and found it very easy to maneuver. The adjustments for the floor height were easy to turn and it actually quieter than my Dirt Devil. All good things to me. Of course my wife and I took off the hose and tested the suction strength on each other, like the cheek, arm, and hair. Very impressive suction strength! Then my 2 yr. old son got upset because he thought that the vacuum was hurting us, so we stopped laughing and put the vacuum hose back.

I then vacuumed up a small patch of carpet in our spare bedroom, which I only use for my office, but right away my wife yelled at me to turn it off. She pointed out the amount of dust spiralling around the canister, which looked really cool! The cyclonic feature really works! There was a good amount of dust and debris already in the canister. We were both amazed at home much this vacuum had picked up, especially when this room had been vacuumed with the Dirt Devil just last week. Also, the carpet seemed to be fluffier. The 12 amps of power and extra wide 15 inch brush are very effective at cleaning our carpets.

I was also impressed with the fact that there are 2 filters on this vacuum. One just beneath the canister and a HEPA filter on the side of the vacuum where the air is returned to the room. Also both of these filters are very easy to find, remove, and replace. The canister also is very easy to remove, clean, and replace. A simple locking arm swings to one side to release the canister, then slides back to lock it in place.

There is also an indicator which changes colors based on the quality of air flow. If it is green, then things are well and air is moving freely. If it turns red then the airflow has become reduced, and if it turns black then there is something blocking the airflow completely. It is very easy to remove the entire hose, you just simply turn the hose on the back of the vacuum until it releases the hose, then you can clear away any blockages that might be in the way.

The hose is 14 feet long. However, I have not needed to use this feature as of yet, but it is very flexible and stretches easily. The Bissell Velocity Vacuum also comes complete with the dusting brush, TurboBrush, Curved Hose Wand, Extension Wand, and Crevice Tool. The power chord is extremely long at 35 feet, but can be a hassle when you only need a small amount of it for a smaller room. However, it is great when vacuuming a large room, or multiple rooms close to each other!

The TurboBrush also works great. I used it to vacuum off the stairs and my car. Again the 12 amps of suction strength is evident when the brush gets up to full speed. It really spins fast! I can even press it fairly strong into the carpet and it still spins.

There was mention that this vacuum seemed to tip over easily, and that is true. I tested this out on both carpet and bare floor. A good nudge or bump anywhere above the Turbo brush will send it falling backwards. Locking wheels would probably have helped in keeping this from happening. If you are going to be pulling on the hose to bring the vacuum closer to you, it is best to do this if the hose is attached to the handle at the bottom of the vacuum. However, I would not recommend this type of action.

Some people had issues with the power switch being on the front of the vacuum. This is not an issue for me. It is near enough the handle that it takes nothing to reach down and flip it off.

Conclusion
There isn't much about this vacuum that I don't like. It is lightweight, powerful, and easy to use. It is a little back heavy and can tip over fairly easily, and the power chord can be a nuisance because of its length, but those are minor problems.

For the money, you really can't go wrong with this vacuum. It will leave your carpets clean, fluffed, and your air filtered. What more can you ask for?

Light Force 300 Upright Vacuum Cleaner in Green Review

Light Force 300 Upright Vacuum Cleaner in Green
Average Reviews:

My first vacuum was the Eureka Altima. It looks pretty much just like this one same price ect. I bought that vacuum in November 2006. It did a great job for 3 straight years. It went from our apartment to now our town house. However it started to act funny...it would shut off unexpectedly, or not turn off. Something electrical and probably could have been fixed. But I convinced my husband it was time to retire our old vacuum. I have a 2.5 year old a 4 month old and a chow-chow. Being Christmas time and having the old vacuum acting weird I couldn't spend a lot of money.
When I found this vacuum I decided to order it. I am so glad I did. Once again I got a great vacuum for a great price. It picks up everything...It's no Dyson but for the price who can argue? It cost 1/5 of the cheapest dyson.
There are a few flaws: 1) the HEPA filter has to be cleaned often..I don't mind it because it gets the dust and stuff out. Also this is because I have a dog and the hair gets around it and it loses suction. 2) it does not have a bare floor setting...but once again it's okwith me. I tend to sweep my kitchen then use the hose to suck up the dirt. Our bedrooms are hardwood and I do the same as in kitchen.
If you have previously owned a Eureka I would encourage you to get this one.

Hoover Uh70085 Pet Cyclonic™ Upright Vacuum Review

Hoover Uh70085 Pet Cyclonicâ„¢ Upright Vacuum
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This vacuum walks circles around my 10-year-old Hoover Windtunnel bagged vacuum. If you have kids and pets, you vacuum daily like I do. My home is small and so is my budget, so this affordable model covers all the bases for me. Emptying the collection bin is a bit messy, but it is worth it to me to never have to purchase bags again. I empty it into a closed grocery bag, and I'm sure I'll get better at this over time. With a lot of cat hair to pick up that has been left behind by my old vacuum, I have had to brush off the filter several times, again, not a big deal to me. The hose is sturdy and long, and the cord rewind feature is a plus. I like the fact that the beater does not run when the vacuum is in the upright position, and has an on-off switch for hard floors. It does make a squeaking noise when stopping and starting, which troubles me a bit. I only gave this product 4 stars for now, but will update after owning for a few more months.

Bissell Momentum Upright Vacuum, Bagless, 82G71 Review

Bissell Momentum Upright Vacuum, Bagless, 82G71
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We were fed up with our top-of-the-line Kenmore vacuum, which we bought in the hopes that a more expensive machine would also be more effective than the previous Hoovers and Eurekas that we suffered with. But that expensive monster was a nightmare from day one till the very end...and we decided that it might be better for us to buy a cheaper machine and replace it every year. We got recommendations from friends of ours to try out Bissell vacuum, and reviews on Amazon pointed us to this line of vacuums. We couldn't wait for it to be shipped to us, so we went to Target and found it on sale for $89. Yay!

Came home, took it out of the box, and discovered that the hose had to be attached, which was a bit of a challenge to the men of our household ;) But after that, it was good to go. And boy, does it ever go!!! It sucks stuff right out of the carpet, tends to take out a good bit of lint too, and the dust cup got filled very fast the first couple times we vacuumed our house. I think we had to empty the cup a few times the first time we vacuumed! So, that was very rewarding.

It's been a few months now that we've had this machine, and it's still behaving itself. The only thing that seems a bit weak is the hose, which got twisted out of shape at the head end, but we can live with that. It still has the same suction power, and doesn't cause us any undue grief, and if it does, I believe the hose is easy to replace.

The dust cup is nice...I was wary of going the bag-less route, but the convenience of this surprised me pleasantly. Empty the cup into a grocery bag once the dust has settled (we do it before we run it again, rather than after a vacuum session) so that dust does not rise up in a soft cloud. There is an indicator light which tells you when the machine is not at its optimum suctioning power, and this is beyond useful! Wash your filter when the indicator goes to red, and you'll be back to normal.

The 35 (or 40?) foot cord is very nice. Make sure you do not get it trapped underneath the brush, as the cord's outer coating will get worn off; you will be an unhappy person when that happens! (A bit of electrical tape will take care of it when it happens, though.)

I took off one star because of the somewhat weakly-constructed hose, and the fact that the brushes can't be turned off when using the attachments or doing bare floors.

Happy vacuuming!

I have owned many vacuums - most of them too heavy or too difficult to change from carpet to tile. The attachments of this vacuum are easy to use and it is light weight. The canister doesn't hold a lot but I would rather empty a small one more often to have the super suction and convenience of a canister. It takes care of the pet hair on furniture and floors. If you have a large home or don't like to empty the container often, try something else. This little guy is great for smaller homes & apartments & those who don't like to work hard at vacuuming.

Eureka 8811AVZ Pet Lover&#174 Deluxe Upright Vacuum Review

Eureka 8811AVZ Pet Lover&#174 Deluxe Upright Vacuum
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have a Eureka TrueClean(which appears to not be sold anymore) and love it, the first time I used it, just after my Dirt Devil(have had terrible experience with those) broke - The canister was packed halfway full with dirt from just my living room.Disgusting! but says A LOT about the quality of Eurekas in that they pick up EVERYTHING.So when my grandfather's old vacuum broke this week I told him, get a Eureka and don't bother with anything else.Same experience for him.I vacuumed just his living room and the canister was halfway FULL of dirt.over the whole house I more than filled the canister (though I emptied it after each area)

Anyways- he actually got the 8810AVZ model called "In-Reach" which I can't find anywhere online but, it seems to be the same as this one 8811AVZ just with different packaging. It works great-picks up everything.pretty quiet.easy to put together.however, I agree that the canister is not the easiest to empty.I actually prefer the open top canister to just turn over and dump out.this one flips open on the bottom and it took me a couple minutes to get it to pop open the first time. I am not sure how durable this function will be.also this vacuum causes a static shock (I was wearing pants and it was a mild shock, when my leg hit the vacuum - many times while I was vacuuming for my grandfather-not a big deal to me but others may be more sensitive.)

Definitely get a Eureka if you are looking for a vacuum in this price range. but I would prefer the open top canister to the flip-bottom canister.

Eureka ReadyForce Bagged Canister Vacuum, 900A Review

Eureka ReadyForce Bagged Canister Vacuum, 900A
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been looking at canister vacs for a long time.I bought one, hated it (the floor attachment kept falling off, the filter kept clogging), and ended up returning it. I am pleasantly surprised by this little machine...the suction is great, it's not too loud, doesn't clog, and it's lightweight.Plus the price is right!!I was looking into getting a miele until I found this.I use this at my vacation home (a 60 year old ranch home that produces a LOT of dust) where all the floors are hardwood or tile and I have an area rug.The vac works fairly well on the area rug, too.The handle feels much more solid than the previous machine I had and doesn't fall apart. And I actually prefer the bag to the bagless version I previously had. It is so much easier to change the bag than pull out a canister and have dust flying everywhere.I highly recommend this for someone who has a lot of hardwood floors and wants to get up ALL the dust on the floors, in the corners, under the sofas!!!

Hoover Portable Canister Vacuum, Bagged, S1361 Review

Hoover Portable Canister Vacuum, Bagged, S1361
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Purchased this Hoover 3 months ago. I currently have a Eureka Mighty Mite and decided that I wanted to have another lightweight canister vacuum for downstairs. I happened to come across the Hoover Bright Orange canister vacuum and thought it was so neat looking, and since it was a Hoover - how could you go wrong.

Well the problems are as follows: suction - fair at best; wand connecting to the head won't stay put - it keeps coming apart no matter how hard you push the wand into the head; the bag - since I wasn't getting any suction I checked the bag and found that though it was only half-filled, the bottom of the bag had disintegrated - this happened twice. I'm not sure if this was due to its close proximity to the filter/motor, but I have never had a bag do this on any other vacuum cleaner I've owned.

Sorry to say, but it's a great looking vacuum, but that's the only thing going for it.

Definitely buy the Eureka Mighty Mite if you're looking for a vacuum for light cleanups.

Bissell Lift-Off MultiCyclonic Pet Upright Vacuum with Detachable Canister, Bagless, 89Q9 Review

Bissell Lift-Off MultiCyclonic Pet Upright Vacuum with Detachable Canister, Bagless, 89Q9
Average Reviews:

Must-have features:
- Suction power.Great suction power.
- Lift-off feature.For use on stairs.
- Bagless.
- Dedicated on-off switch for brush. To vacuum wood floor without brush.
- Brush automatically turns off when unit is at upright position.Save brush and carpet wear-and-tear when using attachments.
- Furniture protection rubber guard.

Nice-to-have features, but not absolutely needed:
- Pet brush."Pet" model means unit come with a Turbo Pet Brush attachment.Pet brush has rubber claws, which grab hair as you rake the surface of carpet or sofa.It is somewhat useful, but not to die for.Buy the Lift-Off models only if you want the must-have features. You can buy the Turbo Pet Brush attachment separately for $29.

Useless features (just marketing):
- Head light.

I was interested in buying the Bissell Lift-Off, but there is lack of info on the web to compare the 2 Bissell Lift-off models: Multiclylonic (89Q9) and Revolution.Rather than just a generic review, I will try to describe the difference between Lift-Off Revolution and Multicyclonic.Their sucking power seems similar. The visible differences are (1) dirt container, (2) upper tank right above the dirt container, and color.

(1) Dirt Container.Multicylconic and Revolution has different design.Small advantage to Multicyclonic.Multicylonic has 2 compartments; 1 cylinder in center and 1 large outer compartment.Revolution has single main compartment, plus 2 additional small dust chambers that extend out from chamber.I don't see any special impact or effect to the various compartments. But one thing I don't like on the Revolution is the 2 additional dust chambers with removable inserts, which are a mess to handle and clean.

The dirt container is the same size on both units. These units suck up so much hair and dust that the dirt containers need to be emptied after cleaning couple rooms.I have 2 short hair cats. The hair will clump together and rotate in the dirt container. As the container fills up (maybe 1/2 to 3/4 full), some hair will remain in the upper tank and not drop down into the dirt container.

(2) Upper tank. This is where the 2 units vary the most.Overall, I give the advantage to Multicyclonic, due to ease of cleaning, particularly with less hair trapped in upper tank.Revolution does have 1 added feature: upper tank can be removed, which is less messy to clean up.

- Upper tank filter size.Multicylonic has more open space in upper tank right above the dirt container. That means less likely for hair to get trapped.Revolution has large filter component that leaves a small gap to the compartment wall.Hair is more likely to get trapped. You can read the review for Revolution. And this is a major complaint for some users.Big advantage for Multicyclonic over Revolution here.

- Filter material. The upper tank on Multicylonic uses only plastic components, whereas Revolution has foam filter in upper tank. Both can be washed and rinsed out, but plastic is just easier and faster to clean.Another advantage for Multicyclonic.

- Removable upper tank on Revolution. The upper tank on Revolution is removable, but fixed on Multicyclonic. The positive for Revolution is that I can remove both upper tank and dirt container and empty them in the garbage can.On the Multicylonic, after bottom dirt container is removed, some remaining dust can drop down from the upper tank right onto the vacuum body.

Eureka 3684F Pet Lover Mighty Mite Review

Eureka 3684F Pet Lover Mighty Mite
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Mighty Mite is a decent vacuum cleaner, especially for the money.I've been through 3 vacuums in 2 years, and I know junk when I see it now. And, for the most part, the Mighty Mite isn't junk.

Pros:It is very lightweight, has good reach with the telescoping pole, decent suction, and the pet hair attachment seems to work fine on my sofa and rugs. The HEPA filter is a definite plus and my hope is that the quantity of house dust will be seriously lowered. It is easy to move, but could use a longer cord than 20 ft.

Cons: The instructions don't even MENTION the pet hair attachment! The only references are on the box it comes in.The suction is adjusted by a rotating ring on the handle, exactly where you hand goes. So, if you accidentally move it to a more closed position while your hand is there, your skin gets sucked in with it. All the attachments do NOT go on the canister. There is provision for one small attachment and the crevice tool onboard.Everything else has to go elsewhere.Plus there is no easy way to deal with the hoses and telescoping rod. They don't fit together any special way and won't stand up.The power cord winds up underneath the vacuum and the plug should clip on to the cord. But, the clip on the plug doesn't actually fit over the cord.It is too small and too tight and makes indentations deeply into the cord, so you can't really safely use that 'feature'.

Sometimes, you have to wonder if the manufacturer ever even tried out the machine themselves. For example, the reason this is lightweight is that it uses incredible flimsy plastic hose.I suspect you could poke a finger through it if you tried hard enough. And, the canister itself is also plastic. That isn't theoretically bad, but what happens is, in a static-y environment, the hair and dust you are trying to get rid of is attracted to the hose and canister! So, you end up with a cleaner house and a vacuum completely covered in hairs and dust. That 'feature' isn't mentioned on the box...

Overall, I like this, in spite of all the negatives.Longevity is a bit of concern for the tools and hose, but it has suction, the disposable bag makes for a cleaner house, it is very easy to carry up and down the stairs and has a long enough reach to reach everywhere in my old house.I'm going to keep it...

Eureka 4236AZ Comfort Clean Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner Review

Eureka 4236AZ Comfort Clean Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been trying to decide which new vacuum to buy and finally bought this Eureka.

I had just used my old vacuum and ran through the house with it thinking that it would be a few more days before I got this one and got hubby to assemble it for use.

He put it together right away and I ran it just ONE day ofter using the older one.Granted, I realized it was time to replace the old one but it still picked up a good bit of stuff and when I changed bags, its was obviously still pulling a good bit of dust, cat hair, etc. when I used it.

But, I am still in a state of shock at what came out of my carpet! EEEEKKKKKKKKK!!! I am almost thinking that I may have to buy a new filter now, even though it says to change every six months!I can't begin to wrap my mind around just how much dust, cat hair, etc. that has obviously collecting in our house that we moved into just a couple of years ago at the most and the carpet was new at the time.I know they have a lot of fuzz and such in them when they are new but this is beyond belief as far as I am concerned.

Now, most of my floors are wood and I have vinyl in the kitchen and I know this machine did not come witha bare floor setting (which was my error before purchase) but am hoping it is available to purchase as attachment.

Either way, I put it on a different setting than for the higher carpet as I did not want it to beat up my wood floors andi it did fine. So, I covered most of the floor excpet the large formal dining room and the canister was full and as I said, I may need to replace the filter prior to the suggested time.It did brush off nicely with a soft bristle brush that I use for my clothes dryer.

All I can say is that this thing will makeyou feel like you have been living in a filthy dust pit and here I though I was a fairly clean person and kept a decent house and now I just feel like I need to run it again really quickly and see if I canget rid of more cooties!!

Mine came with the power paw but I did not even get that far with using it yet but feel sure it will be great on the furniture due to our cats who think they own the house!

My 3 year old dirtdevil Vacuum cleaner gave up and I headed to the research room on Amazon to consider a replacement. After extensive research I zeroed in on this and Hoover 5507-900. Hoover was more expensive and did not have the tools and upholstery available on this Vacuum. I still had my doubts on Bissell hence I headed to Target to check the Vacuum myself. I was impressed with what I saw and I ordered this on Amazon.

Out of the box this Vacuum was very easy to assemble and quite user friendly. The motor was very powerful and it cleaned the dirt from the carpet with ease. It also had adjustable knob for power variation and had one for bare-floor surfaces. The dirt container was very easy to replace and the extra dusting brush with extension wand made hard to reach places very easy to clean. Whats more this vacuum worked like charm on my Vacuum storage bags. It removed the air out of the bag in 30 seconds flat.

I would definitely recommend this Vacuum cleaner who doesn't want to waste money on Hoover or even worst Dyson and still wants to keep clean.

Equipped with a 12 amp motor, this bagless upright vacuum cleaner provides maximum suction power for thoroughly cleaning the home from top to bottom. The unit effectively removes dust, dirt, and dry spills from both carpets and bare-floor surfaces, while its stretch hose and onboard attachments make above-floor cleaning a snap. Use the TurboBrush for upholstery and stairs, the crevice tool to access narrow spaces, the extension wand for extended reach, and the combination upholstery/dusting brush to clean tabletops, bookshelves, furniture, and more. Best of all, the unit's exclusive Helix dirt-separation system filters dirt and debris, protecting the motor and fan to ensure effective cleaning and long-lasting performance. The unit also offers a wide cleaning path, five adjustable-height options, dual-edge cleaning, a pre-motor filter, and a HEPA media post-motor filter. Its HEPA media filter traps over 99.9 percent of dust mites, pollens, and ragweed for cleaner, more breathable indoor air. Other highlights include an easy-empty dirt container, a soft bumper to protect furniture and baseboards from marking, a wide-beam headlight, a carrying handle, a stair-cleaning handle, a 27-foot power cord, and a quick-release cord wrap.
