(More customer reviews)My main problem with the Rainbow is how it it sold.You have to let the salesperson into your home and they have that darn referral program.But with all that it can do, you really need a presentation.We bought our Rainbow on the spot and have never regretted that decision.We have 2 big, shedding dogs.I have bought the most privey Hoovers and Bissels but none would get rid of that dog smell or fur.The Rainbow purifies the air (also deodorises) as it vacuums.Powerful suction allows you to clean fans, blinds etc. effortlessly.We also have the carpet and floor cleaner.Although more cumbersome than an upright, it does a better job than others that I have tried - even the commercial Rug Doctors.This machine is not for people looking for ease of use.But if you want deep down cleaning, nothing else compares.Tip:when emptying out the canister, sift it so that only the dirty water goes into the toilet.Dump the rest of the clumped dirt and hair into a trash can.We bought our whole system for $1800 and it is still doing a wonderful job.You can also use the Rainbow to blow inflatable pools up and as a small wetvac.

(More customer reviews)This little purifier looks good, has three fan speeds, and a "ion" mode that can be turned off. The HEPA filter gets changed every 6 months and costs $20. To get the "lifetime warranty" you need to sign up for a filter delivery program. This may not be too bad if you use the unit all the time, but it is not too clear how to stop the program once initiated. My first unit was noisy, so I requested a replacement. The replacement arrived promptly, and works well. On low fan setting, it is very quiet. Higher settings circulate a LOT of air, and should be good if you have a serious problem.

(More customer reviews)Having recently been diagnosed with asthma I was anxious to find a good air purifier for my bedroom.I opted for the Airfree Onix 3000 because it was not only rated highly but, amazingly, required no maintenance.Within a matter of hours after plugging it in I noticed that the air smelled a lot fresher and the first morning after having the purifier in my room I woke up with almost no congestion in my nose (a first!)so it must be doing a good job of getting rid of the allergens.The best part is that because I am a light sleeper it's wonderful to have a purifier that is totally silent. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the anti-stress light but it's kind of a pretty so I may just leave it on.It's too early to comment on this product's longevity but I am extremely happy with it so far.So happy, in fact, that I am ordering 2 more for other parts of our house.

I have pretty bad allergies, and when we first moved into this house it had brand new carpet and I would be miserable 5 minutes after walking in the door. I moved my T300 in from my previous apartment, and about a day later came back and had no allergy symptoms whatsoever.

PROS: -Cleans extremely well.
-Filters last longer than 6 months.
-Quiet on lower settings

CONS: -Have noticed a problem with the back cover. It takes some work to get the unit to recognize that the back cover is installed. Customer service told me I could adjust the sensor for it but haven't tried yet.
-Lamps are ridiculously expensive. Don't last. Don't buy them for sixty bucks!Get the Phillips PL5/UV at bulbman(dot)com for thirteen bucks! Its better and is the exact bulb specs for the T300...
-Noisy on "medium" and "high"

Austin Air Pet Machine Review

(More customer reviews)We have had 2 labs for less than a year...the pet machine was bought shortly after the arrival of the second one (a 6 year lab-already house broken!). I felt like the machine worked for less than a week to rid house of "dog smell". There has never been a smell of "accidents" - just that dog odor that I never wanted. We have hard wood floors so there is no carpet to trap odor. Dogs are not on furniture. Machine is by their beds. Beds are vacuumed almost daily and washed often. We vacuum all floors daily. Made mistake of emailing Austin Air directly to complain and was completely dismissed. (even though I was in my 30 day window to return). I did hear from a nicer lady from the place I actually bought it from (through austin air's website?) and she convinced austin air to send me a new filter. It has not changed anything. For all its promises, I cannot say it produces any results on any of them. I am very disappointed with it.

Austin Air HealthMate Review

(More customer reviews)I searched through a large selection of air filters trying to optimize price, utility, reputation, and ease of use (I don't have time to replace some components every 6 months and other components every 3 months, etc). I decided on the Austin Air Healthmate Air Purifier.From there, it was a search for a reasonable retailer. Due to price (along with free shipping) and Amazon backing, I chose All Seasons Health.

The product arrived quickly and in perfect condition--I would definitely order other products through this retailer.

I pulled the Healthmate out of the box and after reading the instructions, I plugged it in and away it went (yep, that was it). I was having a problem with new carpet installation (an abundance of VOC's causing watering eyes, sore throat, and dizziness); the difference in just two days was remarkable and noticed by others. The Healthmate has three settings, low, medium, and high. The output on high is amazing and has an added benefit of dramatically increasing airflow in the room. The low setting is quiet enough to sit next to the machine and watch a movie without difficulty.

According to the instructions, in about four to five years I will have to replace the filter inside and from a cursory review of the instructions, it should be much simpler than replacing my water filter.

I will add further comments closer to allergy season.

Austin Air Healthmate Replacement Filter w/ Prefilter - Black Review

(More customer reviews)The filter is fine, but required some aggressive work with a hammer to make it fit my antique model.Compared to the previous replacement filter, this one had metal where the old one had fiberboard.I suppose this would be an upgrade, except that the designer apparently didn't consider the placement of some bolts on my 15 year old Healthmate; hence the need to put some serious dents into the filter.The previous replacement filter had the same problem, but the fiberboard had more give to it.It is my unscientific impression that the new filter is not as quiet out of the box as the previous replacement filter was (based on my 5 year old memory), but maybe it's just my machine getting older; or different room acoustics.Perhaps another owner can offer a second opinion.
