(More customer reviews)This product fixed my "Roper" brand washing machine's problem.It would not put out any cold water, just hot water.That made the washer unable to perform the Rinse cycle because it uses cold water for that (but I used a redneck workaround and just ran my cold water into the washer basket with the hose coming over the top of the machine from the wall).My wife flooded our washroom several times using the "cold water hose" method to fill the washer, so I decided to fix the problem to save her the hassle.
This inlet valve was an exact replacement part for the one I took out of the washer.The solenoid doohickey that the cold water hose was supposed to connect to on my old valve was all rusted, while the hot one was not.If your washer won't put out one or the other hot/cold water, check the inlet valve.
Be sure to find your washer's model number to search for parts for it - that's how I found the proper part.
BTW my wife thanks you for making her laundry time easier.

Kenmore 12-cup Coffee Maker Review

(More customer reviews)We bought this coffee pot from Sears about a month ago. And absolutely loved it.The beep every 15 minutes is mildly annoying (wish there was a way to turn it off) but it's not a big deal, I just ignore it.

A couple of weeks ago I noticed a puddle of water across my counter - but we thought we had just overfilled the pot a bit.However, this has begun happening every few times we make coffee - it's not consistent and it's only a cup or two but it makes a huge mess.After the last leak, I checked the coffee maker over carefully and when I picked it up, water drizzled out of the vent on the bottom of the maker.

Luckily, I had read mixed reviews before we bought the pot so we had also purchased the warranty plan at Sears.We're going to exchange it and see how the next one works out. I'll try to update in a few weeks!

Sears Kenmore Humidifier Wick Filter Replacement,42-14906 Review

(More customer reviews)This review is for a filter element that goes inside of a humidifier.

Calling it a filter is a little misleading, as it really doesn't filter the air or the water.It really works as a tall supported sponge, to hold water within it and draw air through it.The air that is forced through the filter (which is essentially sitting in a tray of water) becomes saturated with the water, thus adding humidity to the air in your house.

This is an aftermarket filter, since Kenmore is the manufacturer of the humidifier.

There are a few minor distinctions between the "Sears" filter and this aftermarket filter, but nothing that would keep me from buying it.For example, the "Kenmore" brand filterhas clips or tape strips to keep the filter in a circle shape, when it is in the humidifier. The presumption being that the soggy filter might slump over or something.No worries.The filter is reinforced with suitable materials to keep it from losing its shape.

Bottom line here, this filter does the job, is more readily available and is cheaper than the "name brand" that one might consider otherwise.

** More information than what you really want**

Do you know what "Legionnaires Disease" is?If you did everything wrong in the use of a humidifier, this could be the result.Ever leave a wet sponge in a sink for too long?It gets nasty.It can hold lots of bacteria and odor. Use a anti-bacterial additive to the water tank reservoir once a week.Also throw out (or replace if you live in Alaska) the filter at the end of the winter season.Clean your humidifier (with the filter removed) before storing it for the summer.Otherwise you will have a much bigger and nastier job come next winter!

(More customer reviews)It seems there are a LOT of misuderstandings in these reviews.If you own a Sears refridgerator it IS a Whirlpool, or Kitchen Aid, or whatever else with a "Kenmore" name plate on it.Sears doesn't make their appliances and they purchase appliance from varios companys and put their "Kenmore" brand on it.I have a Whirlpool fridge, Whirlpool dishwaher, and GE microwave.They all say Kenmore and the stainless stell matches perfectly.A Sears sales rep will tell you who makes the specific unit.This is true for Kenmore washers & dryers as well, all appliance.Secondly, Whirlpool, Kitchen Aid, Kenmore, etc. do not make the filters.Sears, Whirlpool, etc. sell the filter with their markings on it.PUR make the filter.This is not a cheaper replacement for the filter, it is the same filter.I have been using PUR filters bought on-line for 5 years now and it is the same filter that came in the refridgerator when I bought it.The only thing to keep in mind is that the "universal PUR Filter", that fits all push button, in the grill units, does not have the same filtration as the the specific PUR filter that comes with the fridge.For example the "Universal" filter is about $26 on Amazon and my fridge came with a PUR 4396710 which cost about $32 on Amazon.Both will work, but the $32 unit filters out about 11 types of impurities, the $26 unit is 4 types. I buy the 4396710 to protect my 2 year old and wife.What is $7 more when it's your family's health.They are about $50 each at Sears.

I hope this information helps clear up some misconceptions and helps people make an educated decision on what to buy.

In a small household of two adults, the filter should last considerably longer than two years.
