(More customer reviews)I've owned this mug for a couple of years and used it primarily for camping. Dan from Rochester got it right with his commentary, so I'll add just a few points.

The concept is ideal for camping and reduces the effort to make really good coffee. However, the bad points regarding the plunger not going down far enough; leaking lid; etc. are all right on.Also, the cup is double-wall plastic for insulation. The inside sleeve on mine cracked when I poured boiling hot water in it!

I would certainly purchase a similar item again, though not this one. Bodum just needs to increase the quality.I would pay twice the price for higher quality.

Overall...not recommended.

(More customer reviews)While there is typically little difference between any two electric kettles, this one is at least at the top of the spectrum.

1. Being an extremely convenient home appliance "discovered" by the Europeans decades ago, and later in the USA, the electric kettle always left one concern: compared to its mundane predecessor it was typically made of plastic inside and out. Which could potentially mean various unhealthy substances emanating into the water from the plastic sides, especially at high boiling temperatures. This one is made of stainless steel and doesn't cause any such concerns.
2. The kettle can be rotated on its cordless base, which makes it easier to put it back on the base than some other models.
3. It has a transparent wall segment to measure water level. While this "window" is not located optimally (somewhat shadowed by the handle) and hasn't got a bright floating level marker, this design is sturdier than some others, and is less prone to leaks.
4. Blue back-light that goes on and lights this "window" when the kettle is switched on, is a nice touch. It both attracts attention and simplifies reading the water level.
5. It's easy to open the lid, and the opening is wide to add water with no problems or dripping. (In some models the handle partly covers the lid, making it hard to open and/or add water.)
6. Like in most up-to-date models, the heating spiral is NOT located inside the boiling case, but rather underneath it, which makes the design more relaible, and it is also much easier to wash the kettle inside if need be.
7. Time to boil is reasonable and not worse than average.

Petmate Deluxe Fresh Flow Pet Fountain Review

(More customer reviews)My 4 cats love this fountain and they drink a lot more water now. Depending upon how you have the flow lever adjusted, the water stream can either be silent or a gentle trickle noise.

I have had 3 of these fountains in 3 years. The only problem I have had is with the pump. Like any water pump, the water level must be above the pump so the pump will not be damaged. I burnt out the first pump this way (shame on me). The second pump became severely clogged and stopped when one cat vomited grass into the dish while I was away (naughty kitty). The third pump dying is a mystery to me. It wasn't even a year old. Unfortunately, I just returned it today before reading one reviewer's directions on taking the pump apart for cleaning.

Even with the pump issue, I'll buy this product again. The cats love it, it is easy to clean, and fresh water is good for my cats' health. By the way, I can't imagine how some people are getting algae, etc., with this system. Basic cleaning is required of any food or water dish. The only part of this unit that cannot be cleaned with a sponge is a narrow plastic funnel that brings the water up to the fountain head. A Q-Tip works great for cleaning that.

Drinkwell Big-Dog Pet Fountain Review

It holds 2.5 gallons of water, I use bottled water to fill it because that's what we drink, so I'm not worried about the filter replacement.In fact.. I don't think the filter is all that useful or purposeful. (A regular charcoal filter that the water flows around) honestly.. I don't think I'll every buy a replacement.. using bottled water as I said I feel it's not really necessary!

Once a week I clean it out.. I did not buy the cleaning kit, again doesn't seem necessary.I use the hose sprayer on my small kitchen sink to turn it upside down in and spray every crack & crevice with our hottest tap water setting for a few minutes.Works great, no scrubbing necessary.

The flow rate adjustment is great too.. fast flow or slow.. .the slow setting makes the least water trickling sound, we don't even hear it, and the fast is like any soothing home water fountain.

2.5 gallons lasts our pack of 2 medium 1 large dogs, and 2 housecats about 1 week.. I may add a little to the bowl before the week is over now that its summer but not much.I let it run down a bit low and then clean it.

I would recommend buying it, and may buy another for our covered outside area as well.

The PurestOne (tm) Replacement Water Filter Cartridge for Seagull? IV RS-1SG! 1-Pack Review

(More customer reviews)I was a bit apprehensive when I first ordered the The PurestOne (tm) Replacement Water Filter Cartridge for Seagull? IV RS-1SG! 1-Pack from SupremeH2O for my water purification system for my yacht. The replacement filter was not made by General Ecology, the original manufacturer of my system, and GE's filter was almost twice as expensive as the after-market "PurestOne". I've learned the expensive way that cheaper, third-party parts can be a disaster.

Before ordering through Amazon, I went to an outfit here in San Diego which sells reverse osmosis systems and parts, hoping that I could find out more about the Seagull filters. I was informed that they used to stock the item, but the filters were so expensive they decided to no longer stock them.

Instead of just taking the plunge right away and ordering the PurestOne from SupremeH2O (an Amazon seller), I contacted them and was put in touch with Neil Lubin. He explained that the replacement filter in many ways met orexceeded the technical specifications of the OEM filter. After a 10 minute conversation, I went ahead with the order.

My Seagull IV system is installed under the sink in the galley (kitchen) of my 45-foot sailboat. It has a stainless steel bracket that holds the pressure vessel to a bulkhead. Even after two years with no maintenance (my bad!) it came apart easily.The old filter was in a foul condition:streaks of dark red and black gunk grew like high school science fair project gone rogue. After cleaning out the filter vessel, I screwed in the new filter from SupremeH2O - went in perfectly.

After a minute of purging the system, I sampled the water.Amazing. Completely odorless, tasteless, fresh. However the biggest challenge - a taste-test by my first mate, Wendy, was still a few days away. She has an exacting palate (and a sharp tongue!) and I wondered what her verdict would be.

When she arrived from Vancouver, it was one of the things I was keen for her to try. She sipped, and smiled. The system had passed the test.

I see that another reviewer noted that the filter is rated for 750 gallons.I know that does not sound like a lot, but remember that the Seagull IV is designed to produce drinking water. That's a lot of coffee, tea, and the Sodastream Fountain Jet Soda Maker Starter Kit club soda maker (another very cool product for long distance ocean sailors).

Altogether I am very pleased with the filter and the water purification system, and SupremeH2O is a very competent seller.

Culligan US-EZ-4 EZ-Change Level-4 Under-Sink Drinking Water System Review

(More customer reviews)The Culligan 2650 was easy to install; I installed it within 20 minutes, provided the hole on my sink was already there for the faucet. The instructions walked me through everything, even have detailed instructions via pictures for the lazy reader. Comes with an ergonomic long reach faucet. The new design on the lead free faucet looks almost like the ones they have in Lowe's for $50. Filter unit warnes user with audible beeps and LED lights to indicate when filter needs changing (uses a 9V battery, included). So far, this is the only unit that I know that removes MTBE's, VOC's, and more at a low cost of $32 per filter cartridge replacement set (500 gallon filter life, Pentek brand name at filterpros.com). I avoided Lowe's and Home Depot water filters b/c they use proprietary filters, forcing consumer to buy expensive filter cartridges. All other pressure fed water filters I know use $40+ filter cartridges (i.e. Aquasana). I switched to the under sink filter b/c my Pur faucet head filter keeps leaking, and I got sick of replacing them after the third time. I get filtered water at less than $0.07/gal, and I get great tasting water in an instant; it fits my needs perfectly.
