The Auto Pet Waterer provides filtered clean sparkling water so pets drink more fresh water. Auto Pet Waterer has high capacity storage unlike other units in the market. The medium Pet waterer/water fountain is available in a 3 gallon size. The unit consists of a storage container and pet bowl with a recalculating pump. (More customer reviews)The ERGO automatic filtered pet waterer is the best waterer I have ever purchased.The previous waterer was a Drinkwell Big Dog Waterer.It did not have the capacity the ERGO waterer has which is a big benefit considering I have two labrador retrievers.The ERGO waterer has a prefilter which keeps debris out of the pump.I have owned this waterer for almost a year and am still very satisfied with it.It is very easy to keep clean, much easier than the previous waterer.The pump is adjustable and has lasted longer than the one in the Drinkwell waterer.The only thing is the manual does not tell you to put water in the well were the filter is located.By doing this, the pump is primed much faster, ensuring the water circulates well.A small item compared to all the benefits of this waterer.

(More customer reviews)We have 3 labs and have tried just about every waterer on the market.I hated every one of them until we found the Dogit!With this design, instead of the big drinking area that the water pours into there is a very small drinking area which means that you don't have dirt and hair falling into the bowl like you do with most others.Not only that, butwhere the dog drinks from is raised, which helps with dogs who tend to drink too fast and then yack up the water minutes later.The other units would have to be filled almost daily.This baby holds a lot of water.The one person said the inside of the bowl gets dirty, but with three labs that love the mud as much as ours do I can say that we've never had any problem with the bowl getting dirty.Seriously, I cannot say enough good things about this unit.Everyone that has seen it has loved it.It's quiet compared to others, it's sooooo much cleaner, and it holdsmore than most others.If your dogs have a drinking problem like ours do or you are just tired of waterers that are dirty and nasty looking after 1 day... do yourself a HUGE favor and buy this fountain!

(More customer reviews)Lotta (nammed after the lottery which helped me afford the pet deposit and the shelter fee so I could adopt her) is very happy with ttis.She does spend more time at the water dish since I bought the fountain and I'm guessing it's because the constantly circulating water tastes better.This is the 2nd fountain I've bought, the first from another company not lasting for more than a few months.I've had this now for a longer time and especially appreciate the cleaning instructions that come with it and were lacking from the previous product.I have noticed that she also has, for an indoor cat, become a more active and content cat, although I don't know how much of a factor the fresher watr supply is.I do suspect that it is a factor in her health.And I'm happier because the maintenance for this one is much simpler. It's well worth the price..

(More customer reviews)I had been looking for the perfect fountain that wouldn't stand out too much in my room.I've had plastic fountains in the past that would have film grow on them pretty quickly between cleanings so I was unsure that I'd buy one at all.I have three cats and actually bought this one for one of them in particular who loves to knock his water bowl to make waves - and spilled it often.He is very happy with this product.But a pleasant surprise is that one of my other cats is ten years old with a chronic respiratory infection that in his later years has led to high sodium and other bad readings in his blood work.A month prior to getting this fountain he'd been in ICU for a week and after being released I had to administer SubQ fluids nightly.He drank prior to my getting the fountain but once it got here he drank so much more - even sleeps by it sometimes.He's by no means cured but I no longer need to give him the SubQ nightly which is a huge relief.All three cats share the fountain well.Asthetically, it is actually semi decorative and is very quiet.I've cleaned it regularly and the filter is great at stopping the minimal fur that falls in. I have already recommending it to friends and definitely suggest it to anyone looking to purchase it. Hope this helps.

A unique 8-layer filter used in the Auto Pet waterer to ensure that the pet gets fully distilled and clear water to drink every time it drinks. The water from the bowl passes to the filter to remove all impurities like pet saliva, fur and other pollution found in the water. The water that passes out of the filter is crystal clear and free from impurities and odors. The filter has 8-layers the first layer consists of a mesh filter to trap solids. The second layer has small ceramic balls which effectively filter out heavy metals from the water. This is the primary layer, which enables the water to be more bioactive and hence precipitate the dissolved solids while passing through the activated carbon layer. The third layer also consists of a mesh filter to trap small solids. The fourth layer has activated carbon filter elements with silver ions to enable reduction of chlorine and remove any odors. This layer also enables precipitation of dissolved solids. The fifth layer has another mesh filter that traps smaller solids. The sixth layer has stone filter element to trap all precipitated solids and solids from entering the filter from the inlet. The water is clean when it exits from this element. The seventh layer has a mesh filter to trap the smallest solids and the eighth layer is a secondary layer of large ceramic balls to enable the water to be more bioactive after the activated carbon layer and stone filter have done their functions. The water passing through this layer makes the water bioactive and with the air pumped along with the water increases the oxygen content and hence makes the water taste better and healthier. This reduces the formation of algae and keeps the water fresh. These balls also contain the same elements as in layer 2.

(More customer reviews)I cannot believe I'm writing a review of the filters for my Pet Fountain...but here goes.The Pet Fountain itself is fabulous...and these filters do work and catch all the guck in the air, hair, dust, etc. to keep it working well and the water clean.My cats (and dog) love the fresh, moving water.The filters themselves?We live in the country, so there are dirt paths to the house and a lot of dust comes in and our pets are indoor/outdoor animals. The filter needs changing every month, so for a year's worth you will need 6 packages of 2 filters, but they are not expensive and do keep the Fountain working optimally.

(More customer reviews)Call me crazy but I honestly thought the foam piece that came with the fountain was a packaging thing! I read the directions, but apparently skipped that page or something (LOL!) and it wasn't until I had to order filter refills that I saw these again and then realized my mistake.
These foamy pieces extend the life of the carbon filters in the water fountain AND seriously cut down on the amount of pet hair that gets into the pump and filter- I can't imagine not using it!
These last quite a long time as long as you're gentle with them when you clean them off, I think I've used the same one for about six months now and it looks as clean and nice as it did when I bought it.
Not to sound gross but I have picked some nasty looking pet hair gobs off of it, thankful that they didn't get a chance to stick to the filter, pump or worse, stay in the water!
Overall, this is, I think, a must for any DogIt owner who wants to preserve the longevity of their pet water fountain, you don't want a burnt out pump because of a hairy, gummed up filter!

(More customer reviews)My 4 cats love this fountain and they drink a lot more water now. Depending upon how you have the flow lever adjusted, the water stream can either be silent or a gentle trickle noise.

I have had 3 of these fountains in 3 years. The only problem I have had is with the pump. Like any water pump, the water level must be above the pump so the pump will not be damaged. I burnt out the first pump this way (shame on me). The second pump became severely clogged and stopped when one cat vomited grass into the dish while I was away (naughty kitty). The third pump dying is a mystery to me. It wasn't even a year old. Unfortunately, I just returned it today before reading one reviewer's directions on taking the pump apart for cleaning.

Even with the pump issue, I'll buy this product again. The cats love it, it is easy to clean, and fresh water is good for my cats' health. By the way, I can't imagine how some people are getting algae, etc., with this system. Basic cleaning is required of any food or water dish. The only part of this unit that cannot be cleaned with a sponge is a narrow plastic funnel that brings the water up to the fountain head. A Q-Tip works great for cleaning that.

(More customer reviews)I have been using the fountain for a few weeks now.
It holds 2.5 gallons of water, I use bottled water to fill it because that's what we drink, so I'm not worried about the filter replacement.In fact.. I don't think the filter is all that useful or purposeful. (A regular charcoal filter that the water flows around) honestly.. I don't think I'll every buy a replacement.. using bottled water as I said I feel it's not really necessary!

Once a week I clean it out.. I did not buy the cleaning kit, again doesn't seem necessary.I use the hose sprayer on my small kitchen sink to turn it upside down in and spray every crack & crevice with our hottest tap water setting for a few minutes.Works great, no scrubbing necessary.

The flow rate adjustment is great too.. fast flow or slow.. .the slow setting makes the least water trickling sound, we don't even hear it, and the fast is like any soothing home water fountain.

2.5 gallons lasts our pack of 2 medium 1 large dogs, and 2 housecats about 1 week.. I may add a little to the bowl before the week is over now that its summer but not much.I let it run down a bit low and then clean it.

I would recommend buying it, and may buy another for our covered outside area as well.

They're extremely easy to replace. The directions say to replace every 3 weeks but I just do it once a month and it still works fine. An all-around great product.

(More customer reviews)I have two cats and I definteley spoil them rotten!When I first decided to get a water fontain for my cats I chose the Petmate Freshflow over the Drinkwell because the Drinkwell was more expensive and I was completely against the idea of listening to running water all day.Unlike most customers I've heard from the Petmate worked farily well as a water BOWL.It was easy to clean and my pump never stopped working as I've read many others did.However, the water running down the little ramp really didn't satisfy my cats.They did drink from it, but they would still jump at any chance to drink running water out of a faucet which is the whole reason I started thinking about getting them one in the first place.About a ear and a half later I started thinking about getting them a new one and possibly going with the more expensive Drinkwell this time.I saw the new Drinkwell Platinum and decided to go with it right away.The Platinum is more expensive than both the previous models I was looking at but it is definteley worth the extra cost.It's like Drinkwell took all the criticism and praise for both thier design and their competitors and created an exceptional pet drinking fontain.I have had my Platinum for about 5 months now and have been very pleased with it.The Drinkwell team designed the water outlet so that it would minimize the water from braiding which cuts down on the water noise. In fact at the setting I have mine, about mid way between low and mid level, I can't hear it at all!They also put a little debris trap before the water even gets to the pump which should greatly increase the pumps life.The water resevoir is also much bigger than that of my Petmate and the Drinkwell's optional larger resevoir on their original design.All and all I veiw this as a time where a company actually went out there and designed their product by what thier customers wanted!!!So after reading all that you maybe wondering why I only gave this product 4 stars.Well the one thing that I would really like to see is that the actual bowl area be made of stainless steel or some ceramic mix which is totally what I have been told by several vets is the BEST material for any pet to be drinking/eating out of.If they were to add that one extra feature than I would give this 5 stars out of 5 hands down!!!!!!

(More customer reviews)These filters do just what they say they do, and they do it well.I have two cats and they drink a LOT more water now that we have filtered, "active" water for them.Someone suggested these could be purchased cheaper at the "Doctors Foster and Smith" website.I went to that website and searched for "pet fountain filters" and got a dozen or so hits -- all pet fountains - no filters.I tried three times and clicked through all the products - no joy.So, I'm back at Amazon where I know I can get the filters at a reasonable price.If you have pets you know how much healthier and happier they are when they drink plenty of water.The ceramic pet fountain and these fountain filters will ensure they drink all they need, and more.

(More customer reviews)Using the PetSafe water filters with the PetSafe Healthy Pet Water Station Dog and Cat Water System with Stainless Steel Bowl is optional, the water system can be used without or without the filters.I chose to use the filters since we have well water.The filters come in a pack of two, but be very careful removing them from the packaging.The black carbon dust is everywhere from being bounced around during shipment.I am not able to get the filter looking squeaky clean, but once you run it under water as directed a majority of the carbon dust does away.The filtered water has no odor and looks very clean with no hard water deposits.I only wished they lasted a little longer since it states you should replace the filter every 6 to 8 weeks.
