Mr. Coffee FTX41 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Stainless Steel Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)You would think by now the Mr. Coffee folks would know how to make a coffee maker, but this one was apparently designed by people who have never brewed a cup of coffee in their lives.

If the carafe isn't in just the right position, you wake up to a puddle of coffee on yourr counter and floor. Unfortunately, I cannot tell what the right position is--it just overflows randomly.

As if that wasn't bad enough, the clock display is right above the carafe. As the coffee brews, the steam infiltrates the clock and fills it full of condensation, making it very difficult to read. After a few months of this, the clock quits working altogether and you cannot set a delayed brew. You read correctly: this coffeemaker kills it's own clock!

I will NEVER buy a Mr. Coffee product again.

Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemakers Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I purchased this coffee maker at the recommendation of a friend and I'm really happy with it so far. It has a selectable brew strength, a defeatable audio alarm that beeps when brewing is complete, a clock, and a delayed brew timer.

The delayed brew timer is nice to have if you want to wake up in the morning with a pot of coffee waiting for you. I've used the feature a few times, and I like having it, although most of the time I grind my own beans, so I don't like to let the grounds sit in the coffee machine overnight because they can get stale.Of course, that's unavoidable unless you spend the extra money on a machine that also grinds beans before brewing.

This coffee machine comes with a permanent, washable coffee filter that is sturdy, well-made, and washes out in the sink in a matter of seconds. It also comes with a charcoal water filter that is placed above the brew basket. The manual states that these should be changed every month (I wouldn't be surprised if they last longer than that, though). The replacement filters are inexpensive, but if you already have filtered water, you can leave it out.

Another feature that I really appreciate is the Fresh Brew timer, which allows you to see exactly how long that pot of coffee has been sitting there. If you're in a hurry, you can also pull the carafe out while the coffee is brewing to pour a cup.Once you put the carafe back in its spot, it continues normally.I've tried it a few times, and not a single drop has ever hit the hot plate.Oh, and the temperature of the hot plate is adjustable -- I got mine set at the perfect temperature so it doesn't burn the coffee if it's sitting there for a while.

My only complaints (and believe me, I'm trying pretty hard to come up with them): the display, while attractive, is a little on the bright side -- a switch to adjust the brightness would be nice, even if it was just a High/Low 2-way switch. An internal battery to keep the clock accurate in case of a power outage would have been a bonus too. Finally, even though it looks great and feels pretty strong, it's almost entirely plastic, so it doesn't have that solid "I'm going to outlast your children" feel to it that it might have if it had more metal in the construction.

All in all, I feel like I'm cheating it by giving it only four stars, but it's not quite 5 stars either. It would be a 4.5 for me if I could do that. :)

Bosch B26FT70SNS 25.9 cu. Ft. 800 Series Standard Depth French Door Refrigerator - Stainelss Steel Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We bought a Bosch fridge 2 weeks ago after our 9 yr old Maytag fridge stopped working.NEVER buy a side by side Maytag fridge!!NOTHING but trouble 2 weeks after the 1 yr warranty was up.Compressor finally quit after 9 years, lost 100's of dollars in food, paid $100 to fix the fridge every 6 months.

Anyways, purchased a Bosch B26ft fridge w/french doors & water dispenser/ice maker.First of all, it is clean and beautiful in our kitchen. There is a lot of space for various sizes and shapes of food and food container.Maintains constant temperature with little fluctuation.I LOVE the water dispenser and ice maker. We had this in our other fridge, but the ice and water always had a background taste. The bottom mount freezer is fantastic.Very easy to organize items and therefore, you can store much more.

The only possible down side is that the exterior is easily fingerprinted/smudged.Considering the use of a fridge is to keep food stored properly, I am EXTREMELY happy with my purchase.I will update my review after 1 year.

Sunpentown SU-2000 Ultrasonic Humidifier Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)((added later:I'd like to LOWER my star rating to 2 stars, it doesnt work any more. Fan lasted 3 mos, now it doesnt turn on.You think I have time to send this back in the mail? I dont. into the garbage it goes...))

I looked for just regular ultrasonic humidifiers and couldnt find hardly any that just held alot of water, had a directional spout and the mist came out on top so it didnt get the carpet wet, was quiet and that's it... dont need filters or anti-bacterial whatever that will just break, i know how to wash a piece of plastic when its dirty.Anyway, this model is all those things, I would have said I was 100% satisfied with it.AND I bought it from the manufacturer after amazon screwed up my order and tried to charge me a ton for shipping.
BUT, i cant give it 5 stars because when the thing runs out of water, an alarm goes of, what the heck is that for?Just turn off if you're so worried. It woke me up and scared me half to death. Today it woke up my twins and scared them, its like a siren this thing.I'm going to take some pliars to it and 'fix' it myself.Other than that, works like a charm.BIG tank... good.

CHANGE:fan broke after 2 mos. its trash now, going in the garbage.
