(More customer reviews)I set mine up with my dad about 2 months ago and it was pretty easy installation. I have to agree that the filter is not so great. It clogs up and you have to clean it every few days depending on quantity of fish and plants. So i suggest short roots for floating plant or grounded roots. Koi fish makes the pond really come alive as they are very active and friendly. My pond first pond dimensions are about 5' by 5' by 1.5' and a small river connects to a smaller pond which is circular and has a circumference of about 2'. max depth is 6". So my pond holds a little over 200 gallons. So im giving this one a 4/5 because of the filter. But hey what do i know? This is my first pond. Might get a second smaller one next summer

(More customer reviews)It does a very good job of filtering my tank. I have a frog with a half and half tank setup. The suction is fine for the frog, but when I put a fish in there, it was over taken by the strength of the suction and the power of the water being filtered out. Not too bad overall.

(More customer reviews)While constructing my 35' waterfall feature, a friend told me the usefullness of using this filter at the top of the falls.I am very glad that I followed the advice.I selected this particular filter because I was using a 5500 gph pump and with the vertical height and length needed it would be spilling around 3800+ GPH.This filter handles this large water capacity excellent.The filter only comes with one filter pad and I recommend using two.I have found that this keeps your water cleaner and clearer.I believe Atlantic water garders filterfalls are top notch products and I would recommend the use of them in your water feature.You, your fish and plants will be happy with the results the filter provides.

Tetra ReptoFilter In-tank Filter 10i, for Terrariums up to 10 Gallons Review

(More customer reviews)I have an female Red Eared Slider in a 70 gallon breeder tank, and found that a Whisper 20i was strong enough to keep the tank crystal clear, even when larger, more expensive filters failed (canister in-tank, external canister, you name it). My slider loves the waterfall the Whisper generates, but also loves to tear up the sponge and filter medium when she can reach it.

We decided to try the ReptoFilter, having had such excellent luck with the 20i. Like the 20i, the ReptoFilter uses three-stage filtration and claims to be for environments "up to 20 gallons." We figured we'd be getting a 20i with a lid, and we'd be able to continue using the filter media we'd purchased for the 20i. Unfortunately, what we did end up getting wasn't what the advertising copy claimed.

The ReptoFilter itself is small, about half the size of a 20i (in fact, it's the same size as a Whisper 10i, which is only designed for small tanks of 2-10 gallons). There's very little uptake, and the water displacement is significantly less than the 20i. The lid doesn't stay on firmly, and is easily knocked off by a curious turtle or errant hand. Quiet? Sure, until the filter clogs up in the first half hour and water starts to overflow the sides, and the underpowered motor bogs down under the load. Where the 20i worked brilliantly in our tank, the ReptoFilter failed.

If you're looking for a small filter for a small reptile or amphibian setup, then you may find that the ReptoFilter works for you. However, if you've got a larger setup and looking for a workhorse filter, this isn't it.

Had it going on a month now and the water is still crystal clear with only one filter change.

If you shut it off and then turn back on the flow is immediate (no priming).

The filters are a breeze to change.

I have it set up in a 20 gallon long Terrarium (1/2 water 1/2 land) with four Fire belly Toads. Before that I had two small Turtles in it (since moved to a larger aquarium) and the water stayed cleaner than using my Cascade 100 Power Filter!

I'm just ordered another one for my Turtle aquarium.
