The 12-cup glass carafe has an innovative locking lid that preserves the coffee's aroma and flavor. I love the way it looks in the kitchen, like a small sculpure!I am happy with the quality as well and cannot report any problems.I noticed a negative rating by another person who probably purchased a refurbished copy.That's why I encourage to purchase this item brand new through Amazon's museumofmoderndesign.I look forward to adding the Jasper Morrison toaster to my collection as well.
