(More customer reviews)I bought one of these heaters 2 years ago. It was working fine so bought another 6 months later. The first one stopped working 6 months ago, the second one stopped working this month. Also it does not have a light so you can see if it is working.

UNBREAKABLE FRENCH PRESS Review

(More customer reviews)I got this little French Press for Christmas (cost was the full $25) and used it every day for five months, until the plastic screen holder on the bottom of the plunger pretty much disintigrated.I've used french presses for years and am in the habit of disassembling the plunger/filter mechanism for periodic cleaning.This is fine for metal screen holders, but this plastic one cracked and soon broke into small pieces.

I'm going back to Bodum.Their glass carafes can break (and be replaced), but I never really liked the plastic carafe on the BonJour Hugo -- it quickly began showing minute scratches, giving the impression that it wasn't completely clean.(I'm not a clean freak, but good coffee calls for clean brewing equipment.)

If it weren't for the broken holder and the plastic carafe, I would have given this french press five stars.

(More customer reviews)I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this pitcher. The price is rock-bottom, as are the replacement filters (I was able to get the pitcher and 1 years worth of filtration for less than the price of just a Brita or PUR pitcher alone).
The water tastes great, the pitcher fills pretty quickly, it's easy to clean and the filter changes easily. The LID is an issue, but a very small one for me personally. It does flip off easily, but that is solved by just pressing it with your thumb when you pour. A very minor inconvenience in an otherwise excellent product.
