I use it for hydrosol of plant solutions but you can use it for any kind of heating and condensing you wish. seems durable and glass is very nice. Note this is a graham condenser so you will need to orient it as shown, they don't work too well if not assisted by gravity but it will work, you just need to keep a closer eye on it so your condensate doesn't get pushed back the wrong way! if you were to have the condenser tilted off of vertical appreciably, the area where it attaches to the boiling flask arm will get filled with condensate, a little careful wiggle can help this or just set it up as shown in the picture. I also use an inexpensive metal coil hot plate but you can use your gas stove or an alcohol burner. Go wild!
