(More customer reviews)Just to counter the (understandably) negative review due to packaging issues....I have used these pumps for several years in my aquariums and have found them to be quiet and reliable. Even better, when they do inevitably malfunction, replacement parts are easily and reasonably obtained, right here on amazon in fact!! So I don't have to throw the whole thing out, just a little impeller. Works for me!!!

(More customer reviews)I love this pump so far. The Aquaclear 20 is perfect for a 29 gallon tank. Previous Penguin powerhead was awful. A pet store recommended and ordered the 660 for my 29 gallon tank. It was way too much power with no way to adjust the output. My fish were getting blown around the tank. Even worse was the vibration. Even tried rocks on top of the cover to stop the rattling. Down graded to 4 stars because the bubble valve doesn't adjust to a tiny amount of bubbles without spurting them out off and on again. You either get spurts or a LOT of bubbles. To be fair the Penguin air valve was fancier but didn't work any better.

(More customer reviews)The Maxi-Jet is the Mercedes of aquarium power-heads.At nearly 300 gallons per hour you know you have plenty of air circulation and water movement.I placed one at each end of the tank to get a circular movement in the top of my aquarium.This gives a nice fast current for the active fish and slightly moves the water at the bottom.They are easy to clean and pack plenty of bubbles into your aquarium for optimum aeration.

(More customer reviews)I have owned a whisper filter in the past and find them a superior product.So I was not hesitant to buy this one.The whisper does work better than most standard filter systems that come with aquariums these days. So thats why after 1 month I ditched the Aqueon filter system that came with the tank I purchased and switched to the Whisper filter.The only thing I would say that is negative is the sound... it isn't a whisper at all.. more like a water fall in your house.So if you find the sound of running water irritating this isn't the system for you.I find it soothing so it isn't a problem.
