(More customer reviews)My turtles have grown since I purchased their original turtle dock.They were getting so large that they sunk the old turtle dock (small), so I knew I needed a larger one.The product is just what my turtles needed so that they can come out of the water to bask. The only odd thing is that when it arrived (in its original packaging) it was kind of oily and sandy feeling, but I just washed it off.

(More customer reviews)I bought this about a year ago so my stinkpot turtle could get out to dry his shell. Like others have said, it is not that aesthetically pleasing, but it did the job. After a few months, the lower suction cups stopped sucking to the glass, and it grew algae very easily. Even after scrubbing, the algae came back soon. Then my turtle chomped it up- gross! I hope he doesn't get sick! This time I will pay more to get a higher quality product.

My turtle got big (around 5' now) and it will not support its weight.The whole pier sinks down when he tried to climb on. So..this product probably won't last long for your turtles if you are planning to keep your turtles for a long time, so keep searching for better product!

(More customer reviews)It does a very good job of filtering my tank. I have a frog with a half and half tank setup. The suction is fine for the frog, but when I put a fish in there, it was over taken by the strength of the suction and the power of the water being filtered out. Not too bad overall.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this for two Mississippi Map Turtles. It runs pretty quiet, though there is a little bit of vibration depending on what it is stuck to but for the most part you have to listen to hear it. I noticed that it works a lot better and more efficient if you buy the activated carbon in a carton not made by ZooMed. ZooMed makes little carbon pellets that do not seem to work as well as the carbon chips that you can buy for fish filters, which are cheaper since you can buy them in bulk. You only need to fill the little lid inside the filter and one carton can last a while depending on how much you change it. Once I changed the activated carbon my water was crystal clear within a couple of days. The sponges can usually be washed under the tap and scrubbed if needed. I would not suggest using soap, and they should not need to be replaced as consistently as the carbon does unless they no longer come clean.

(More customer reviews)I have my two red ear sliders in a 55 gallon tank, theryre about 4 to 5 inches across.I can fill the tank for maximum swimming space and they can go up to the "penthouse" for a nap via the ramp, stay dry with all the proper lighting and plenty of space for both of them to bask.The underneath underwater bench is where they sleep and rest during the night.They are secure and extremely happy little guys.We found them wandering around our back porch when they were no bigger then quarters.Today they live in the lap of luxury with their own penthouse.
I highly recommend this topper to anyone with a tank.The suction cups on either side secure to most any size tank..I love this product and am so happy someone put it on the market!It beats those suction docks big time and the turtles stay completely dry, very important!
