VitaMaxTM Vitamin C inline filter Review

Just installed it 3 days ago. Easy to install. I've always had dry feeling skin regardless of what body lotion or cream I used. My skin does feel great the last couple of days. Skin feels moist. However, there's no water pressure from my shower anymore. I like the way my skin feels, but disappointed in what it did to water pressure. Not sure if I'll continue to use the filter. May continue the quest for a good product. Would give it 4.5 stars for how my skin feels, but 0 or 1 star for water pressure.

Product Description:
If you can't live without your existing showerhead and want the great benefits of the Vitamin C filter, this is for you. Vitamin C dechlorination has a lengthy history. It has been used in EPA and APHA methods for the dechlorination. Sonaki's Shower Filter releases the exact amount of vitamin to neutralize all chlorine or chloramines as the water passes through the shower filter. When the water is shut off, the filter stops releasing the vitamin. This economy of vitamin release increases the useful life of the filter significantly. Sonaki's Shower Filter contains roughly about 20 grams of Vitamin C and is capable of neutralizing 0.4 ppm chlorine in 10,000 litters(2,500 gallons) of water. The life time is independent on the temperature and pressure of water. The Sonaki Vitamin C filter removes chlorine or chloramines instantly allowing you to experience no stinky chlorine smell during water useage. The filters have very low maintenance cost ($1 per month) and are easy to install. They also come in an attractive see-through housing. Not plain white like all the others.Product comes in bulk-pack packaging only (no box just plactic sleeve and wrapping) with filter assembly and 1-Vitamin C filter.

Vitamin C Handheld Showerhead Chlorine Filter Review

Vitamin C Handheld Showerhead Chlorine Filter

I purchased this Unit a few months ago. I immediately noticed the cheap plastic connectors (alot of companies are doing this but this plastic was really cheap feeling). I give them credit for the metal hose though.I hooked it up and turned on the shower and water was flying everywhere from the shower pipe to where the Sonaki connected to it. I took it off and used even more plumbers tape and turned it on. Now, water just leaked from the spot so I left it like that (it shouldn't leak at all).

First impression:
Excellent water pressure and spray. I have poor water pressure and tried a waterpik handheld showerhead before that just didn't work well. The Sonaki showerhead has the best spray I have ever used-very good.

My hair felt softer and even though I wasn't happy about the leak I would have been more than pleased if.......
The cartridge lasted a month. It didn't. It lasted 2 weeks! This is just me showering once a day for 2 weeks. That would mean it would cost $200/year for cartridges. Not good. I liked the shower spray so much, however, that I decided to keep trying it out so I loaded the new cartridge that came with the Sonaki. I was surprised at how long this cartridge was lasting, the vitamin C wasn't going down much at all.

Then I noticed my hair and scalp were getting worse so I decided to check out the cartridge and found...........
There was no hole in the bottom of it! That meant water was going around the cartridge not through it. I compared it to the original cartridge and of course the first one had a hole in it, plus it was also a little bigger. Now, what the heck is going on here?

I happened to have also gotten a 5 pack of cartridges and checked them out. ALL of them had no hole in the bottom. Needless to say, back it went.
So, is this company scamming us? Is the company just incredibly inept with poor quality control? I was flabbergasted at what I had just seen.

I will add that if they improved the seal at the pipe, if the cartridge lasted 1 month, and if I didn't just see 6 out of 7 defective ones this would be a nice shower filter, so I gave it 2 stars for the spray power. As it stands, this is one screwed up company.

Adagio Teas Ingenuitea Teapot Review

Adagio Teas Ingenuitea Teapot

My wife bought one of these when we were vacationing in Eureka Springs a year ago, and I thought it was another gizmo to add to the cupboard. Was I wrong. I started using it more and more, mostly for green tea, and thought it would be good to have one for work as well. So I ordered one from Cooking.com and use it all the time. I just put the tea leaves in the container, add hot water, let it sit for 5 minutes, then set it on top of my cup. The valve on the bottom opens up and the tea pours into the cup, with out the leaves (with the green tea I buy from China, the leaves are full leaves, and I can get another 2 cups out of it, so refilling is easy). The nice thing is, I can use it for coffee as well as black tea. The coffee, especially if you grind your own, tastes so much better. To clean, I just invert in a trash can, and rinse out what's left.
