(More customer reviews)I purchased this Unit a few months ago. I immediately noticed the cheap plastic connectors (alot of companies are doing this but this plastic was really cheap feeling). I give them credit for the metal hose though.I hooked it up and turned on the shower and water was flying everywhere from the shower pipe to where the Sonaki connected to it. I took it off and used even more plumbers tape and turned it on. Now, water just leaked from the spot so I left it like that (it shouldn't leak at all).
First impression:
Excellent water pressure and spray. I have poor water pressure and tried a waterpik handheld showerhead before that just didn't work well. The Sonaki showerhead has the best spray I have ever used-very good.
My hair felt softer and even though I wasn't happy about the leak I would have been more than pleased if.......
The cartridge lasted a month. It didn't. It lasted 2 weeks! This is just me showering once a day for 2 weeks. That would mean it would cost $200/year for cartridges. Not good. I liked the shower spray so much, however, that I decided to keep trying it out so I loaded the new cartridge that came with the Sonaki. I was surprised at how long this cartridge was lasting, the vitamin C wasn't going down much at all.
Then I noticed my hair and scalp were getting worse so I decided to check out the cartridge and found...........
There was no hole in the bottom of it! That meant water was going around the cartridge not through it. I compared it to the original cartridge and of course the first one had a hole in it, plus it was also a little bigger. Now, what the heck is going on here?
I happened to have also gotten a 5 pack of cartridges and checked them out. ALL of them had no hole in the bottom. Needless to say, back it went.
So, is this company scamming us? Is the company just incredibly inept with poor quality control? I was flabbergasted at what I had just seen.
I will add that if they improved the seal at the pipe, if the cartridge lasted 1 month, and if I didn't just see 6 out of 7 defective ones this would be a nice shower filter, so I gave it 2 stars for the spray power. As it stands, this is one screwed up company.
