(More customer reviews)I'd venture to guess that anyone giving this product a 5-star review hasn't owned it for very long.While it is beautiful to look at, and bamboo is one of Earth's most renewable natural resources, this pail is a waste of money.It is composed of narrow strips of bamboo glued together, meaning there are plenty of seams just waiting to burst.For my pail, that took about two months of light use.Suddenly, one of the seams separated, and it's extremely difficult to glue back together properly.Also, the plastic holding the charcoal filter against the bottom of the lid broke free after about two or three weeks, so every time I lift the lid, the filter falls out.
In this instance, bamboo is not the better choice.Do yourself a favor and buy stainless steel.What good is a renewable resource if it winds up in the landfill after minimal use?
