(More customer reviews)I have my two red ear sliders in a 55 gallon tank, theryre about 4 to 5 inches across.I can fill the tank for maximum swimming space and they can go up to the "penthouse" for a nap via the ramp, stay dry with all the proper lighting and plenty of space for both of them to bask.The underneath underwater bench is where they sleep and rest during the night.They are secure and extremely happy little guys.We found them wandering around our back porch when they were no bigger then quarters.Today they live in the lap of luxury with their own penthouse.
I highly recommend this topper to anyone with a tank.The suction cups on either side secure to most any size tank..I love this product and am so happy someone put it on the market!It beats those suction docks big time and the turtles stay completely dry, very important!

Aquabot Turbo T4RC Robotic In-ground Pool Cleaner with Remote Control Review

(More customer reviews)I bought the Aquabot T4 about 1 year ago after brushing the pool for days to clean up the algae.It was an expensive purchase and my wife thought I got another expensive toy.After we used it for a year (but left it off during the winter), my wife said another great purchase/choice from me!Because we left the robot turned off during winter and cover the pool, we found the pool was filled with green algae again and the water was so muddy.So I turn on the Aquabot for a 5 hour run for the last 3 days, the pool is back to crystal clear.It does take some work to clean the bag after each run to make it effective. But other than that, it is a great machine and save my back and shoulder from pain because of the scrubing and brushing.

I guess the only drawback is now I have less and less exercise because of the robot taking care of the pool brushing! :)

We used to run two coffee makers all day long - probably eight pots per day each. Our new Bunn is faster and can keep up with our demand. Be aware that this Bunn VLPF does NOT include the two decanters pictured. Only when the box arrived, did the outside of the box mention "decanters not included." We've been using it for over a week now and so-far-so-good. I also purchased the extra 3-year warranty, just in case.

(More customer reviews)A few comments.When this arrived, the galvanized steel was still covered with a sticky grease, probably from the forming operation.Soap and water would not remove it, so I had to disassemble it and clean it with a strong solvent (I used toluene, and even then it took some scrubbing).Second, it doesn't come with enough Teflon tape on the fitting to seal against water leakage.So, be prepared to wrap the threads with several more layers.Finally, the float valve looks pretty flimsy.I just hooked all this up, so I have no idea about its durability yet.

It does work fine now, but I figure the materials and cheapo valve probably cost $5 to $10, total.Not sure if it is worth the $40, particularly if the valve gives out. A WEEK LATER NOW: In my initial review, I detailed my disappointment with this item, and my concern about the cheap valve.Well, I have had this for a week now, and the galvanized coating is so thin the the inside of the water bowl is corroding already.A lousy item!

I originally gave this two stars.... I'm taking one back now, but Amazon won't let me change the initial rating.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this product for my son who needed water testing equipment for his science project.Unfortunately, several of the test strips did not work and I was glad that I had ordered more tests than he required.As well, interpretation of the results requires visual observation to match the color of the strips to a chart.We called the help line number shown in the package for assistance with these two issues and did not get a call back.With shipping and duty to Canada adding another $100 to the cost of the 20 water tests we ordered, I told him that he'd better design a different type of project next year.

3M AA00DC-6 Advanced Allergen Furnace Filter Review

(More customer reviews)My house uses forced air for heating. The disadvantage of such a system is that it distributes the dust in the air everywhere in the house. However, it is supposed to be possible to filter out the dust. Over the years, I have steadily increased the quality of the filter that I use for my forced air heating system. However, until now I have not noticed any obvious difference in my allergic reactions that seem to start with the heating season.

There are two cats in my house. I have read that cat dander, tiny flakes of cat skin shed by the cats, is five times smaller than household dust particles. It stays in the air much longer than ordinary dust before it settles. Because of its small size it requires a more efficient filter to get it out of the air.

Until this year, I have used of variety of filters with mixed results. However, this year, I started using the 3M Advanced Allergen Filters, the ones in the blue wrapper. These have a 3M Microparticle Performance Rating of 1500, but do not have a MERV rating listed. MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value and is a number from 1 to 12, produced from a test designed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). A higher MERV rating indicates better filter performance. 3M uses particle data between 0.3 and 1.0 micron size to calculate a Microparticle Performance Rating or MPR. The higher the MPR, the better the filter. However, higher rated filters cost more.

The difference made by the Advanced filter was immediately obvious. My running nose stopped running. I assume that the new Advanced filters must be taking out more of the dust in the air including the cat dander. I have not noticed a change in the speed of the circulated air. The additional cost of the Advanced filter is worth it if you have allergies or pets. However, if you are happy with a lower-rated and lower-cost filter, then you can continue using that one. I suggest that you check Amazon and vendors on the web to get the best price.
