Thank the sweet lawd for these at like 1/2 the price.Fit perfectly and the water still tastes like water.

These filters were designed and engineered by Water Treatment professionals who understand water filtration products and who designed and created many of the filters you see in the market today. These filters are guaranteed to fit by the manufacturer and will provide clean, clear, great tasting water for you and your entire family. These filters come in a beautiful retail box which is sealed by the manufacturer to ensure the safety of the filters as they are shipped to you. The retail box is suitable for retail sales and includes a barcode. Also included in the box is a date label to use to properly date the filter as you install it. Also included is an installation instruction sheet. The filter also is protected with a red sanitary end cap which is designed to ensure your product arrives safe, sound and in perfect condition. Each filter includes a 6 gram package of o-ring lubricant known as DOW 111. This lubricant works to ensure that the unit you install goes in properly and also is easy to remove after use. LG 5231JA2006A 2 Pack Water Filter Review

(More customer reviews)The price on this item appears to have gone up by about $20.00 in the last two weeks.These are the same exact filters sold by Sears for use in their high-end Kenmore Elite's (built by LG in 2005).I compared build, quality, part number, and packaging.However, when I purchased them they were about half the price compared to sears (I bought a two-pack).

Installation is via a simple twist-lock method.So, if you are replacing the filter for the first time, simply push and twist to remove and push and twit to install.Do not call Sears to do this.They charge a significant fee.For those who have a whole house water filtration system, or an inline (to refrigerator) filtration system (I use a Culligan good water reverse osmosis), the filters should last TWICE as long at the least.I have had many people argue that I do not need a water filter at the refrigerator if I have another system in place.I disagree.I like the idea of a backup in case of equipment failure.

HOWEVER, instead I received the 5231JA2006A LG Refrigerator Replacement Water Filter Cartridge
removes the following impurities from your drinking water:

97.4% of Chlorine
93.2% of Particulates (Class I)

You can pick up the "A" cartridges for about $30, and they only remove Chlorine and 93% particulates.

I was unable to return via the web, and now have to contact Customer Service.

This the second Amazon approved vendor who sent me the wrong or bogus item
