(More customer reviews)I bought one of these on a lark to use when I travel to my home office -- I can't stand drinking tea bags and wanted something convenient for my loose-leaf that I could refill at the office hot water heater.
First off the pictures here do not do it justice -- the glass is of high quality (borosilicate) and looks it.It gleams!When filled with tea the color of the liquid is framed and appears to float within the double-walls.When the filter is removed it's practically a work of art.I get LOTS of appreciative comments on the appearance alone.
Second the filter is also of very high quality.It's an extremely fine micro-mesh so even the smallest leaf fragments do not get through.The tea hat makes a convenient drip tray after the filter in pulled.
The only warning I have for users is to put the hot water in AFTER the filter and tea leaf in in the cup.If you put the filter in after the water the filter mesh is so fine that the water doesn't instantly rush through -- this can cause the displaced hot water to splash out over the edge.No such problem occurs if you place the filter in first though (or if you place it in slowly), and it's a problem resulting from the high-quality of the filter, so I'm not at all unhappy!
