I use one in by Bunn drip brewer because unlike paper filters the gold filter does not impair any filter taste.I purchased the Swissgold KF 300 to use when I just want a single cup but to tell you the truth it makes a better cup of coffee then my Bunn drip brewer.The reason for this is because coffee should be brewed at a temperature between 200 & 205 degrees. My Bunn brewer unfortunately only reaches a temperature of 190.
You heat the water on the stove until boiling point take it off the burner and let it set for 30 seconds or so to let the temperature drop a little and then pour it into the KF300, it is as simple as that.The only negative thing I can say about the KF 300 is I wish it brewed a little more coffee at a time. When you fill up the reservoir it holds about 8 oz. I cheat a little and add a little more water when the level drops because I use a 12 oz mug.If you want a single great cup of coffee I highly recommendthis brewer.
