The Turbo Twist unit is well worth the money.I had quite a few parasites that kept coming back and each time I had to spend the money on medicines to rid of them.It got to be a real pain in the butt. With other UV sterilizers on the market and not sure which one to purchase, I took a gamble and bought the Turbo Twist.I have had the unit about 2 years now and can't think of a time since then that I have had problems with diseases or parasites. The product does what it is intended to do.You must have the appropriate water flow from your filter in order for it to work properly though.I have mine installed on my canister filter and it works excellent. It also comes with a nice bracket system so that you can either use the suction cups or screw it into your aquarium stand.I simply screwed the bracket into my aquarium cabinet on the inside so that it is not visible.I also installed quick-disconnects on each end so that I can clean the unit easily without having to dismantle the entire filtration setup.I hope this information helps your decision-making. I highly recommend!!!

This is my second unit. The bulb went last year and I replaced it but there was a leak which caused the bulb to fail again. Amazon price for a new unit was less then new bulb and sleeve.

Green Killing Machine 9 watt Internal UV Sterilizer with Power Head Review

I took a chance on a relatively new vendor and I'm glad I did. Hats off to the Umbrella Group. Everything went smoothly and the product was delivered in good shape and on time.
I'm very pleased with the unit. I needed a UV filter for a smaller tank with a hanging filter (so an in-line wouldn't work) and was very happy to find this at a great price. It's whisper-quiet and includes a power head for great circulation.
Two small words to the wise:
1) The product is a snap to set up if you're a little mechanically inclined because the instructions that come with it leave something to be desired. The illustrations are microscopic and the text says to see illustrations that don't exist.
2) Make sure you look at ALL the photos before you decide to put this in a smaller tank (20 g or less). It takes up more room than the main picture might lead you to believe but is rated up to 50g.
With that said, I would heartily recommend this to anyone who's ever dealt with an algae bloom (or anyone who doesn't want to).

Product Description:
AA Aquariums Green Killing Machine makes fighting green water easier. UV radiation is effective in controlling bacteria, yeast, mold and other pathogens that in turn control algae growth. Aquarium water flows in direct contact with the UV lamp, intensifying its function of fighting green water. The simple all-in-one design (Filtration pump and sponge included) can be hidden behind ornaments and plants minimizing on tubing around your aquarium.? A Breakthrough in UV sterilizers: Low Cost and easy to use (10 minute set-up).? Perfect for Salt and Fresh water aquariums up to 50 Gallons.? Child safe 12 Volt design that uses a completely sealed bulb assembly - pump included!? Good for novices as well as experts!? Assembled unit measures: 7.5 x 1.8 x 4 inches.FAQ:Q: Is this a disposable unit? A: The Green Killing Machine itself is not a disposable unit. Just like any other UV sterilizer; the bulb itself is disposable. The difference between AA and other brands is that we replace the lamp together with its housing, so we make sure the seal is 100% tight and easy for users. The UV lamps have a life span of about 6,000 hours; so if the LED indicator on the control box is OFF, it means you will have to replace the UV lamp assembly. Prices for these replacement bulbs are very affordable and can be purchased here. Q: Why is the flow rate so slow?A: The slow flow rate together with our ZIGZAG flow design (inside the housing) is utilized to maximize sterilizing time.
